We love Braum's milk for its flavor (exactly the same after the A2 switch, btw!) and improved nutrient profile. We love being able to run in and grab a couple of essentials from the grocery section (although we miss when they used to hand you milk gallons out of the drive-through window--ancient history, right?!). We enjoy the burgers and the thick crinkle-cut fries, and we adore the ice cream, which is the absolute best bang for your buck in addition to being excellent. But one thing we have never, ever loved about Braum's is the service. Typically, Braum's hires a bunch of teens and older folks who seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. I have considered shoplifting gallons of milk before for the way I've been ignored standing at the checkout for minutes and minutes. If they would team up with Chick-fil-A for employee training, they could run the ice cream world. But there's something different about this location! The people who served our family were HAPPY. They SMILED. They got our orders right and they seemed genuinely happy to have us there. I came back to the counter after we got our food and was immediately tended to cheerfully, then while I waited another employee asked if I had been helped. I was almost speechless. This is far and away the best service I have ever had at a Braum's. Not only did I jump on Yelp and drop a five-star rating asap, but I also spoke to the shift leader to tell him what a good thing they have going here. I'm so glad for the chance to say something positive about our family favorite burger joint! Other Braum's locations should take notes!

It wasn't until we were sitting at their window that we realized we left the cake I make her, at home 1.5 hours away. The reason I even realized it was I was looking at your building and thought, "oooo ice cream would go great with her ca- - ke" ‍ I almost cried, I spent half a of Saturday making it, but then I remembered watching TikTok's where a kid makes DQ ice cream cakes! So as soon as we got our fajitas I zoomed over to you guys! Y'all even had the Reece's Peanutbutter cake, which is her favorite candy. To top it off, the staff member running the register, and apparently the entire front of store had a nincompoop that paid with a big bill, for a single order, and the poor staff member had to deal with that. She never looked stressed, even after other people came in. She was friendly to her, the next customer and me, turns out she had worked a double on Saturday, and was back on Sunday with a smile on her face and a great attitude. Mom LOVED the ice cream cake, and shared that in her 83 years, she'd never had ice cream cake before, it's just the two of them so after we ate I sliced the cake up and we put it in the freezer, once it's frozen solid she's going to put each slice in zip bags, or plastic wrap so they can grab a piece when ever they want. Thanks for saving mama's birthday, you definitely earned a new cake lover!

Stepping into The Milford Country Store in Milford Texas feels less like entering a convenience…read morestore and more like crossing a threshold into a bygone era. Milford itself is a whisper of a town, its main street lined with boarded-up storefronts and weeds claiming cracked sidewalks. In this landscape of quiet decay, The Milford Country Store stands as a stubborn, flickering flame. From the outside, it's nothing remarkable: a faded, sun-bleached sign that probably hasn't been updated since the 80s, and a perpetually dusty parking lot. But push open the door, and you're immediately hit with the familiar, comforting scent of stale coffee, old newspaper, and something vaguely sweet from the candy aisle. The selection, understandably, isn't vast. You won't find artisanal kombucha or a wide array of craft beers here. Instead, the shelves are stocked with the staples: rows of off-brand chips, a modest cooler of sodas and lukewarm beer, and a surprisingly well-maintained display of tobacco products. There's a single, slow-churning coffee machine that dispenses a brew that's more about caffeine delivery than flavor. What The Milford Country Store lacks in modern amenities, it makes up for in atmosphere, some level as a payment of homage to the past. This isn't just a place to grab a soda; it's the town's de facto community center, its last bastion of public interaction. You'll see a few grizzled farmers picking up their morning coffee, a couple of teenagers lingering over candy, and perhaps an elderly couple exchanging quiet words. It's where rumors are born and confirmed, where the few remaining residents exchange news, and where, for a brief moment, the silence of Milford is broken by the gentle hum of the refrigerator and the clinking of change. The prices are a little higher than a big-box store, but you're not just paying for the goods; you're paying for the convenience, the familiarity, and the unspoken acknowledgment that this place, against all odds, is still here. Is The Milford Country Store going to win any awards for its gourmet offerings or sparkling cleanliness? Absolutely not. But in a town that's slowly fading from the map, it's more than just a convenience store. It's a vital, if humble, lifeline. It's a testament to resilience, a quiet monument to what remains, and a poignant reminder of what once was. For anyone passing through Milford, The Milford Country Store isn't just a place to pull over; it's a window into the soul of a dying town, still stubbornly clinging to life.

We came in about 5:45 on Tuesday before New Years, and the place was basically bare. I was concerned. Went immediately to use the restroom, which was nostalgically decorated and clean as a whistle. The waitress was at the table taking to my husband when I got done, and my tea was already there, waiting for me, when I arrived. Now...the food: I got the chicken fried steak and hubby got fried catfish. Both were so clean and fresh I thought they'd been air fried! By the time the food arrived, dinner time must've hit, because as I write this from my table, the place is absolutely packed full of patrons. I didn't take a photo of my dinner, because I was busy enjoying it. However, I was able to get a quick snapshot of the husband's fish before he downed the last few bites. Seriously, this was the best southern comfort meal we've had in quite some time. We'll DEFINITELY make this a stop when we are passing through Hillsboro in the future! Seriously. Try them. You can thank me later, and ya might even run into Bubba while you're here!
