These cupcakes have ruined me. I cannot eat a cupcake if it has not been baked by Sweet Kelly. Her cupcakes are consistently dense with a tender crumb. The flavors are rich wirh a sweet buttery scent that teases as soon as you open the box. And that's just the cake part. The generous topping of frosting is never overwhelming, too sweet or cloying. Her peanut butter frosting is so popular that when it appears on a confection at a charity bake off even though the entries are unmarked... the golden peanut buttery goodness tells us who created it. She makes many different varieties ( my favorite - banana cupcake wirh that divine peanut butter frosting) that sometimes will have a tiny brownie, candy chunk, or cookie on top as homage to the type of cupcake it rests upon; a win/win example of confection heaven. I was looking for a peanut butter and chocolate birthday cake for my future son-in-laws birthday party we were hosting. I took a chance and sent Kelly an email not even expecting a reply since in the past I've always only dealt with lots of waiting, frustration and a great deal of no responses. Wow! NO WAITING HERE! It was the total opposite! Kelly replied early that very same morning! Not only did Kelly come through with the cake, Kelly even delivered the cake to my house the morning of the family birthday party which was an absolute God-send since my husband just had rotator cuff surgery and was difficult for me to get out. I have ordered cupcakes from Kelly several times. She never disappoints. The first time I ordered was last year for my sons first birthday. She made 4 dozen cupcakes for the guests (simple chocolate and vanilla ones for the kids and some of her speciality cupcakes for the adults) and a smash cake for my son. She matched the colors that I requested perfectly. She made a polka dot smash cake for my son using the colors from the kids cupcakes (blue and green). She did a great job and delivered them for a small fee. Shortly after my sons party, I asked if she could make Boston Creme Pie cupcakes for a fiends birthday. She admitted that she had never tried making them but said she would give it a shot. After a couple of attempts, she admitted that she was not proud of the end result and was not comfortable selling them. I respected her decision and really appreciated her effort. Instead she made a half dozen of her Salty Carmel and a half dozen of her Drumstick cupcakes. Last week I ordered a dozen of the Drumstick cupcakes and had her deliver them to my friends office as a surprise. They were a big hit. Not only are her cupcakes aesthetically pleasing they are delicious. I would recommend her cupcakes hands down over any others I have tried. I used to regularly get my cupcakes from Pink Moon in Powell, which are pretty good too but I find that Kelly's cupcakes are far better. They seem to be more fresh, full of flavor without being overbearing and are very pretty/professional looking. I would highly recommend her cupcakes. First, Sweet Kelly's has the BEST cupcakes. Not only are they delicious, but the flavor choices are amazing. I'm currently obsessed with the chocolate chip cookie dough and strawberry milkshake, but I've never met a cupcake from Sweet Kelly's that I didn't love. From simple vanilla to decadent S'mores, everything is delicious and you can definitely tell how much time and love she puts into each batch. She is extremely flexible with her schedule, reasonably priced, and crazy creative with flavors. She also works with you to come up with the perfect flavor and they always look beautiful. I get cupcakes from Sweet Kelly's for every occasion, ranging from birthdays and baby showers, to unnecessary occasions like "It's Friday," or "It's nice outside." Every time I share them with others, they love them and ask where they're from. She works by order only which is perfect because you know she's going to spend the time to meticulously make sure your order tastes the best and is presented well. These are hands down the best cupcakes I have ever had. I have been fortunate to have sampled at least 10 of her flavors and every single one is amazing. My personal favorites are the salted caramel with the chocolate cupcake, French Toast, the Irish Car Bomb (adult cupcakes!), mocha, and the apple cobbler. Kelly makes cupcakes with several different "layers" to them. For instance the apple cobbler has real apple pie filling inside of the cupcake in addition to the amazing frosting, homemade caramel and streusel she puts on them. She will even make gender reveal cupcakes - any cupcake with pink or blue filling inside! She uses only the highest quality ingredients and it is evident in the taste. No extracts here, only real flavors. Her vanilla bean frosting tastes exactly like what you think a perfect vanilla cupcake would taste like. The pricing is lower than many competitors around as well. I have tried so many other cupcake places around town and on vacation and each time I have been disappointed and said "Sweet Kelly's are just better". Try them! Sweet Kelly's cupcakes are the most moist, delicious cupcakes! She also has amazing cookies and cake pops! My favorite cupcake flavor is the mocha. Although it is very hard to pick one! My favorite cookie is probably the pumpkin cookie. Her chocolate chip and snicker doodles are amazing too! You can tell she only uses the best ingredients and no artificial flavors. Everything you try will blow your socks off. Any of her chocolate cupcakes are amazing. I have never had a moister cupcake. Ever! Her white cupcakes have a natural vanilla flavor and the texture is perfect. All of her icings are smooth and creamy! I have tried almost every flavor she has and every time I try a new one, I consider making it my favorite. But mocha always wins! This review doesn't even do her cupcakes justice.
