Renee went above and beyond by delivering our tasting cakes directly to our hotel, making an already busy weekend so much more manageable. She also took our accidental AI-generated cake Pinterest inspiration and turned it into a stunning reality. The cake was even more beautiful than we had imagined, and the flavor combinations were absolutely incredible. It tasted just as amazing as it looked. We heard nothing but compliments from our guests about the dessert bar, and by the end of the night, every last dessert had been enjoyed. Ironically, the only people who didn't get to try the dessert bar were us! The day flew by so quickly that we never had the chance, and it's honestly our only regret from the entire day. I was desperate and willing to take anything, and Leigh Anne was very sweet and patient with me on the phone. We settled on the Carrot L-Orange cake (heavenly). I forget the exact size, but I remember she said it would feed ~6 people which was perfect, and truly it could have fed up to 12+ people as that's how many servings we got out of it. That cake was tall, flavor-packed, and very rich. The complimentary carrot, nutmeg, and orange flavors had a warm spice that had me questioning why it had been over a decade since I last had carrot cake! It is criminally underrated in my peer group, or at least it was until we had this one. You know you've got a great recipe when even the folks who 'don't want any cake/don't like sweets' start eyeing it to make sure there's some left for them to try, and especially when they ask if they can take a to-go slice back home because they know someone who just HAS to try it. This is the same kind of baker! She can take your dreams and turn them in to reality! Terry make unbelievable cakes. She once made her dad a cake that looked like a Nikon Camera. The waiter thought it was a real camera. She has made several cakes for us and even done a Nightmare before Christmas cupcakes for us. The cakes look amazing and are always wowed over. The cake itself is moist and delicious. She offers a variety of fillings such as lemon, raspberry, chocolate etc. My favorite is chocolate with raspberry filling. The outside of the cake is made from fondant and can be eaten. I am not a fan of fondant and therefore normally do not eat it. Terry is an independent baker who bakes from home. She has a book of pictures of cakes that she has made. But if you have an idea of what you want she can design a cake just for you. If you want a cake that will wow the crowd then this is the baker for you.

We got a chocolate croissant (only decent thing I got, but don't compare it to an artisanal made croissant where it's a dark golden brown with flaky crispy buttery layers). Their "croissants" are more like anemic, soft, moist bread. Also, got a cheese Danish. Starbucks sells a better cheese Danish than this place. The Danish was dry and hard and the center filling looked like it was pre-made frozen and just placed on top of the Danish. Finally, the worst of the worst, I got a personal size dutch apple crumble pie. Now THIS looked like it was made from scratch and I had hopes for this one. However, I took a piece of the crumble topping and ate it. It had an unusual funny taste. Almost like it was made with lavender. Didn't taste quite right. Then, when I got back to my hotel, I really dug into it. It wasn't just the crumble that was off, but the entire pie tasted of rancid spoiled butter. I had to spit it out, it was horrible. I can't believe they would serve that. I don't know how old that thing was, but they need better quality control. The only people I could see giving this place 5 stars on the food, are locals. Tahoe is behind when it comes to quality high end artisanal pastries. I have yet to find a decent coffee shop. Their sign boasts "Voted Best in Tahoe", but you'll see that almost every spot here has the same sign, from ice cream shops to bakeries to whatever else because there's literally nothing here. If you're from a big city, don't come here. Service was pleasant. No complaints.
