Waitress walked off and never came back with my water. Had to track her down twice to request water before I finally got water. Ordered basted eggs with English muffin, got eggs over medium with whole grain toast. Politely said, I actually ordered English muffin, (did not mention that I didn't order fried eggs) she said "are you sure you don't want the toast? I said, no, I would like the English muffin. She walked off and served several other tables and started filling their drink orders. My husband tracked down a different person to get my English muffin, by then my not basted eggs were cold. I get it, mistakes happen to the best of us. A simple acknowledgment or apology would have been welcome, but not a word. It made me feel like I was the one being difficult and I hate being that person. It isn't cheap eats, so I simply wanted what I paid for. The fried potato hash towns were tasty and well seasoned, the eggs (however they were cooked) were good enough. Overall the food is what you expect for a traditional breakfast. If you don't expect amazing service you will enjoy the meal well enough.

Huge rave to an AMAZING dinner at pacific brimm cafe in parksville…read more They have delicious handcrafted cocktails and craft beers on tap. Their guac & prawn cucumber bites or their home made daily soup (which happened to be cream of mushroom soup yesterday, my fav ) is a must try as a starter. My partner and I also tried the halloumi sliders and the bison burger sliders, which comes in full size as well. We also tried the pesto penne with added chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious, crafted to perfection! The meat was juicy and tender, and the mango chipotle aioli paired perfectly with the halloumi. The penne was el Dante and the house made pesto sauce was bursting with flavour. For dessert we had to try all three desserts; chai tea crème brûlée, the Oreo cheesecake (rotates weekly), and the chocolate espresso mousse. The aromatic chai flavours in the creme brulee complemented the crisp burnt sugar top, and the chocolate mousse was perfect for a coffee lover like myself! The cheesecake was also delicious, and can't wait to see what they have next week! Pacific brimm cafe is the perfect stop for breakfast lunch and dinner (I've also been there for breakfast and it was spectacular!) and well worth the trip wether you are already in parksville, or located in Nanaimo. Can't say enough good things about all the hard work the owners and staff have put into the menu and atmosphere of this fine establishment! 123 Craig street, parksville. Don't miss this up and coming hot spot nestled in the heart of beautiful parksville

My husband's egg was cold as were the hash browns on my plate. The young woman who delivered the food dropped the plates in front of us - I could see the eggs jiggling as she did that but she left without another word. I took my plate to the counter to request firmly cooked eggs where I was ignored by her. I had to flag down another employee to request the adjustment. I also requested the hashbrowns be warmed up. The eggs came back cooked but the hashbrowns remained luke warm at best. My husband's food was "alright"...we aren't going to return.

After staying here in December and loving the hotel and the surrounding area, we stayed again on…read morebusiness a couple of days ago. Our dinner in December was a mixture of excellent service and very average food. This time we ate dinner elsewhere but stopped in for breakfast on our departure day, and boy do we wish we hadn't. The lovely K was on a call so I went down and ordered our breakfasts, she poached soft eggs, me sunny up. Both crispy bacon, potatoes and toast. We were the only people in the place at 9:40 AM which should be an obvious red flag. Our previous experience had me concerned, but our timeline dictated it was this place or nothing until the ferry, which is not really an option either. The crispy bacon was fatty and swimming in bacon grease, the potatoes tasted off, the poached eggs very nice, my sunny up had a good skin on them, obviously under the warmer while eggs were poached. The toast almost crumbled when bitten into. Peanut butter and jam were asked for, and delivered. The peanut butter was fine, but the jam was so runny it wouldn't stick to the knife. I ate the eggs and the toast and left everything else as did K. I can't express how bad it was. Our waitress was out setting tables in the attached tent while people waited to be sat. One gentleman actually sat himself, I mentioned he may want to go elsewhere. Hated to do that, but........ We spoke to our server and she was very apologetic, and it looked like the apology was a common refrain. We will for sure stay at the hotel again, but will not set foot in that restaurant again, I'd rather go hungry.

Don't Sleep on This Spot…read more Let me just start by saying: Thursday night at The Beach Club Restaurant might be my new favorite holiday. If you've never experienced their Prime Rib special, cancel your plans next Thursday and make a reservation. Seriously. I'll wait. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was pure vacation, chill, relaxed, and classy without being stuffy. The entire staff, including our server, were knowledgeable, friendly, and the kind of folks who makes you want to order everything they recommend... which I pretty much did. We kicked things off with oysters that tasted like they'd just been plucked from the ocean by Poseidon himself--so fresh and delicious. Drinks? Let's just say I every single one my husband and I had were refreshing and delicious. I'm not saying they were life-changing, but I am saying I briefly considered asking the bartender for career advice. Now, let's talk Prime Rib. It came out looking like a centerfold from a beef magazine, perfectly cooked and paired with a Yorkshire pudding that was so legit, I half expected a British grandmother to come out and give me a hug. Fluffy, golden, and big enough to qualify for its own zip code. Dessert? Of course we had dessert. At that point, I was basically committed. Beautifully presented and sinfully good, just like everything else. 10/10 would recommend. In fact, I already have. Don't sleep on this place. But if you do overeat (which you will), at least you'll sleep happy.
