Ice cream and shakes and snow cone are awesome. The waffle chips were fresh and crunchy. The flavors are great! The service is top notch. The owner took his time to make very fresh espresso madness shakes. When I blurted out that he used sugar in the shakes he corrected me to make sure that I know his shakes are finely crafted without any added sugar. That's a man who stands by his ice cream craftsmanship and excellent service. I should have asked how old the business is. It's prolly been at Tahoe forever. Maybe even dating back to 2017? Thankful that I came back with my kids almost 10 years later. There's also a nice backyard patio area to sit in the shade and enjoy the ice cream and rest from a day of hiking or at the beach. Had such a great experience at Sweet Tahoe Time. The ice cream was top notch and they were so generous with the portions- each one us got heaping scoops. The staff was incredibly patient and kind to our three loud kiddos. It's not always easy going out with our little ones, but they made us feel very welcome. This is the perfect place to cool down and enjoy a sweet treat! The staff let me try both "bunny tracks" and espresso chip and I went with a cone of the espresso chip. It was really tasty and creamy. Our friends have had this place before, and they highly recommended it during our group trip to Tahoe. They have a HUGE menu with many flavors to choose from - not to mention you are allowed to pick unlimited toppings!!!!! There is seating inside and outside, free wi-fi, and the restroom was decently clean. Went around 8:30pm walked in with my mom to get ice cream and the old white dude working there was a complete asshole. The store has interesting flavors like vanilla Barbie, bunny, huckleberry, etc... so I wasn't sure and asked the guy to try a couple. I'm not one to sample 1,000 flavors usually just 2 or 3 max. When I asked for a sample of a different flavor called huckleberry he told me no. I thought he was joking at first so I laughed as he held a straight face and told me I'm not giving you more than one sample and told me very rudely to pick a flavor and that I'm holding up the line. Mind you my mom and I just walked up to the counter and I sampled one flavor looking to just sample one more as we have never been to this ice cream place before. I ended up not getting anything because I've never experienced such rudeness especially from a very friendly looking ice cream place seemingly tailored for children. I was very thrown off and confused by this attitude from him and I wouldn't recommend purchasing from here. There's a lot of other ice cream places down the road. First, let me say that this place is super cool. Love all the seating outside and very dog friendly. They have pup cups that were automatically offered to our boys. They loved it! Now I also want to say that I am not a big butter pecan fan and my wife is and I tried her ice cream, hands down the best butter pecan ice cream I've ever had! This rudest experience I've ever had in my multiple trips to Tahoe over the years. We walked in, stood in line, immediately felt like we were being stared at. We ordered ice cream, mid-order the man who was helping me walked away to block off the toppings area because my daughter was looking at them. Didn't say anything before walking away, came back and looked at me like "go on."...and when we went on to the coffee order we were told "not with me" - so I asked with who and the man said "with one of these other people." He didn't ask anyone to help us, instead I had to chase down someone to help. Once ordered I asked to pay, went to the counter and said "do I pay here" and he said "ya but I have no idea what you ordered." Then he relied on me to tell him, again, what we ordered. We paid. I asked for a few extra spoons and they gave us 2 dirty sticky spoons. When I told them the spoons are dirty, the girl told me "they aren't dirty they change colors" and then rolled her eyes and brought the packet out for us to choose from. Every interaction was rude. I do not recommend this place. Also- I'm not sure what the coffee hype is about- it was below average. read more

Full honesty here based on my personal experience yesterday - take your money elsewhere!!! I came here with my family hoping to end the day on a good note, and this ice cream shop absolutely ruined our experience and overall trip. I'm not sure if it was racism or the one worker had a stick up his you know what... but he was completely out of pocket yesterday night. I believe he was the owner of the shop. We came in and asked for a few samples.... now I haven't even had a single sample yet and this worker looked me straight in the eyes saying "you can only have ONE sample." I thought he was joking, but I was completely wrong. Now if I wanted one single sample, at that point I might as well take a damn gamble on any flavor at this point and buy that flavor. I hated the first flavor I tried and asked for another sample (because i thought he was joking). Turns out he wasn't. As I asked for the second sample, he again sighs and says "I already told you you can only have one sample. There is a line (of 2 other people) behind you." I was completely speechless. What a rude human being he is. I ended up getting a flavor I didn't even like (and for $6 for a scoop FYI....). I just wish the owner had more of a heart. He should not be owning an ice cream shop with this attitude. The point of ice cream is supposed to bring joy and happiness together, but the owner did the opposite of that. He seems to have a lot of hatred in life and seems like a very miserable person that takes it out on the customers. If you want to have a miserable experience, come to this place. Awful experience, service, and bad vibes. Not to mention that I also saw a tiny mouse crawl out of their shop into the backyard area. I went with a small scoop of Black Raspberry Marble in a cone! Prices are affordable and serving size was perfect. The ice cream was creamy and delicious. Stopped at this place by chance as we wanted dessert. The ice cream was great and the coffee (almond mocha) was delicious. This is the first time in a very long while that I have savored and finished drinking every last drop of store bought hot coffee while on a road trip. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming and the staff was very friendly. The icing on the cake was when a black bear sauntered into the surrounding shopping area. Nice short walk from Kings Beach. There's snow outside but they're still open. They have a fireplace running inside. Plenty of seating inside for small and big groups. Free wifi. Free water station too. Guy working is super friendly. He really fills the cup full of ice cream. He even gave me free toppings in a separate cup and filled the small plastic cup to the top with a small lid. Plus he gave us temperature color changing spoons which would be a hit if you have kids. This is pretty much the most family friendly place I have seen. We were walking by and decided to come check it out. Our 2 year old immediately found the bike rack filled with all of the tricycles and scooters and was ready to have a blast. The back patio is huge and everything is so dog and child friendly. Staff was super friendly and came out to say hi to the pup and give him his pup cup. The ice cream and coffee were both really enjoyable. We came to Kings Beach looking for ice cream. This is the first one we came upon. There are a few spots in front, and if you get one it's very convenient. We took the family inside. So many options. They have both yogurt and ice cream, both with free toppings, I think that is what the sign said. I got vanilla ice cream , and it was just as advertised. We took our ice cream to the back patio and enjoyed a few minutes of quiet. The back is all set with tables for multiple families. They also had trikes to rid around on the driveway. When he called out "oat latte and vanilla latte" and handed us coffee in hot coffee cups - we asked for clarification on which is which since 1) they're not labeled and 2) we weren't staring at him when he called them out so we didn't see which was placed where on the counter (another gentlemen was also waiting for coffee). To my surprise he mocked my cousin - "yes that would be this latte...." In a condescending tone with an eye roll combo. He was also irritated when I asked for 2% (menu said nonfat available) and scoffed at me - whole, oat, soy only. Sorry for picking something on your menu! Service is efficient and fast and they add your (free) toppings for you, which I prefer so it's cleaner and more efficient. One nice sized scoop (small) is $5 and was a great for an after lunch dessert and paired perfectly with our walk along the shore right down the street. Limited parking out front (2-3 spaces available) but bathrooms here are super clean! Lots of nice seating space (indoors and outdoors).
