Cute little cafe in North Tahoe with great breakfast burritos and decent coffee. Great vibes in there from the staff. My group shared a bunch of burritos - bacon, sausage, tri tip (+$1), and brisket. But my favorite was brisket because it was most flavorful. Tri tip was surprisingly bland. Bacon and sausage were solid. They put yummy tater tots inside that were perfectly cooked - crispy outside fluffy inside. We also got pico de gallo and guacamole on the side. Quite busy on a Saturday brunch. My party of 5 found seating in the backyard patio. We shared 4 burritos: bacon, sausage, brisket, and tri-tip. Our favorite was the brisket. With limited options around the area, this looked cute and convenient but ended up taking considerably longer than we expected. There was a pretty considerable line to order but it moved quite fast. Even the drinks were ready in under five minutes which was impressive because the staff were flying through those orders like a pro! What want not good was that it took close to 45 minutes for the brisket bagel and pulled pork burrito we ordered. Honestly, it could have been that they were short staffed in the back, but when we got our food, I'm pretty sure the bagel was a pulled pork bagel instead of a brisket bagel. It wasn't worth going up to ask for a a correction though because of how long we waited, and meat is meat at the end of the day, I didn't want to waste it. They definitely charge tourist town prices because for the price they charged and the taste, it just doesn't add up. Well, at the Tree House Cafe, you can have something good and at a fair price We were visiting Kings Beach for the afternoon on a whim and other than drinks weren't really prepared for lunch. This place's menu looked good plus they had outdoor and patio seating since we had our dog. It was hot out and they allowed well behaved dogs INSIDE with the cooler air. I had the loaded tater tots with creamy Mac and cheese topped with brisket. My son had the tri tip sandwich. The portions were large. I split my tots with my wife and we still had to take some home. My son only finished half. Anytime you order tots, the base has to be crispy with potatoe-y insides. This place delivered on that, plus the mac and cheese added a level of creaminess that paired well with the savory brisket. The brisket was BBQed with out too much sauce, this allowed the smokiness of the meat to come through and not be overwhelmed by the other ingredients. So overall, a winner in my book. Solid cup of coffee! I got a hot white mocha on a snowy day and it totally hit the spot. It was not to sweet. Some of the mocha sauce went to the bottom (happens at any shop, no problem) so I stirred the drink. Coming in before 9am seems to be the trick as every time I'm in line to order, about 10 more people come in as this is a very popular spot so be ready for a wait with the line out the front door. Inside is cabin decorated with a great soundtrack always playing, patios out back is secluded with 5 heavy picnic tables and a children's table, the front patio is right on the street next to their smoker which is going right when they open so be prepared for some smoky goodness to increase your appetite and order. The Treehouse is a fan favorite! Really good coffee, great breakfast burritos, and a super friendly vibe! This mom and pop is conveniently located on the main highway ringing the lake. Plenty of street parking, but not much of a dedicated lot. I highly recommend the breakfast burritos. The tiptip or the pulled pork are serious winners. They're pretty large for the price, and the eggs and goodies are overflowing the hot tortilla. It comes wrapped in foil, so use a fork to rescue the spillage. The coffee was good too. I have been going into the Tree House Cafe since I found them in November 2025. Over all I have been happy with them. The food is good but on a regular basis they are out of something. Tri tip, or sausage. I know they bake there amazing chocolate croissants in house so when they sell out I can't truly be upset. Today I came in and order food for a friend and I. Two bacon and egg burritos with a spinach and cheese croissant, hibiscus tea and an ice mocha. The croissant and drinks are made in a timely manner. I go put them in my car and come back to wait for the rest of my order. As I wait I see that food comes out for the staff and they were obviously surprised because of the way they were talking to the cook. It wasn't something ordered by them. I can't complain because staff has and needs to eat. I waited a few more minutes and have the people who ordered after I did were still waiting on food. We went to the front and asked the girls behind the counter and they were oblivious that people were still waiting. It took them just over 30 minutes to make 2 burritos. while I was still waiting to get my food. I watch a gentlemen ask for a cappuccino have to ask the barista to actually make it. I don't want to price shame any business about prices they have bills to pay and people to employ but when you bill is $48 I would expect my time and choice to be valued and today that is the farthest thing from what happened to me and every other customer. When I finally got my food to where it needed to go I found out that the tea was weak and undrinkable. My coffee was messed up too, super bitter and lacking in chocolate. The burritos tasted pretty good. I know I could of gone back to deal with the issues about out drinks being this isn't the first time I have had my drinks messed up and they will dump them and start over is a waste of something that won't kill me. I have seen a lot of employee turn over since I started coming in and I have always been one to give grace while they are learning I hope these issues don't become a chronic problem. I will be back to see if it gets better over time but until then this review is as good as I can give. read more

Inside, there are tons of LEGO cities on display (which my son loved!), plenty of indoor warm seating, and it's a great spot for kids. They offer a wide variety of food options, and the coffee was really good. My husband ordered the basic breakfast plate, and my son had the waffles. The waffles were okay and a little dry. Unfortunately, they forgot my veggie burrito, and when I went up to ask, they said the ticket had been lost, which was a bit of a bummer. However, they remade my order right away and kindly gave us a scone as an apology, which was a really nice touch. The eggs were some of the best we've ever had. Once we found some parking and spent some time on the sand we meandered over for an afternoon pick me up. It was a good choice for sure! We decided to get a quick breakfast to go, as we were hungry, but wanted to get back to Sac. The inside is a very relaxed vibe, with a clientele that seemingly will be happy with their coffee drinks and pastry concoctions. I'm more a savory type, and although "linited," their menu holds up. The clerk asked Mr if I wanted "hot food." Wheb I asked of the eggs were actually scrambled or just microwaved, she laughed, said they cook everything to order, and agreed with me microwaved eggs are disgusting. I ordered my wife a breakfast burrito, and they let me customize a breakfast bagel (scrambled eggs, cheese, and EXTRA cream cheese) A for customer service. The actually bagel sandwich hit the spot. It was essentially a mini cheese omelet cooked perfectly on a bagel, with two sides of cream cheese to slather on. While my wife wishes they hadn't cut her burrito in half (harder to eat in the car), she admitted it was quite tasty. A little pricy ($25+ for a breakfast burrito and a bagel sandwich), but if I lived near here, I no doubt would get my same bagel sandwich a few times a week.
