There's already limited space, forcing me to shrink between my friend and husband, and the employees are all entitled brats who don't care who they serve, so long as you hand over your money. My husband enjoyed his bagel, and my chicken sandwich tasted dry. The employees tried to bring us the wrong order, and there was confusion about what we ordered (good thing I printed out my receipt). I'm disappointed because this was my best friend's dad's favorite place, and I wanted to share this tribute with her as she recalled her recently deceased father. Cute coffee shop and bakery with nice outdoor seating! One of the best sugar free lattes I've ever had! They had several sugar-free options- vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut. I got a SF caramel latte with oat milk and it was delicious. I also got the daily breakfast bagel sandwich (with no cheese) and it was also very yummy. There were so many yummy looking pastries, sadly I did not try any :( The weather was perfect so we sat outside and it was gorgeous. Definitely a busy spot, but worth it. I'm glad we came here when passing Truckee :) their hot panini sandwiches tasted delicious, they had a plethora of food and drink options, and even a super cute area of postcards , children's books, and other cute Tahoe/Truckee goodies. The sandwiches either come with some veggie sticks or chips and salsa (salsa is spicy, I liked it!) they have lots of dessert options as well! Pretty good. Not a whole lot of alternatives in this area. Very chill place to hang on a rainy day, typical cafe in a ski-resort town. We stopped here on our way home. We were in boomtown with out power and by the time we arrived at Wild Cherries Coffee House they got there power back on. The Verdi fire really put a damper on our vacation. We were happy to find this nice mom and pop shops. It's adorable. Soon as you walk in look left and they have a lot of merchandise. Sweatshirts, Tshirts, reuseable mugs, local books, and much more. They have a good size menu. It's not just a coffee shop. They provide a good selection of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pastries, and breakfast burritos, For lunch they have a vegetarian chili, soup of the day, paninis, and sandwiches. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese and my honey had the special breakfast sandwich of the day. I wish the bagel had more cream cheese. It was only a very think layer. It was still good, it just needed a little more umpth. The breakfast sandwich is about a third larger then Starbucks breakfast sandwich and more substantial. They have a vast drink case. We came on a Sunday morning after checking out of our hotel at around 10:30 am. There was a line but we were able to get a table pretty quickly. My husband ordered an avocado bagel but subbed the plain bagel with a Jalapeño bagel and jalapeño cream cheese and I ordered the pesto sandwich with a jalapeño bagel and sub jalapeño cream cheese. This review is overdue but wanted to share my experiences. My sister found Wild Cherries via Yelp after we had a very unsuccessful attempt at trying to go to the lake. So we drove out of Lake Tahoe back down to get lunch, grab coffee and rest a bit. The cafe was easy to find and plenty of parking outside. Inside there was a merch wall and plenty of seating to go around. Placed an order of an iced vanilla oat latte and some sandwiches. Service was good and food wasn't bad. I wish the vanilla latte had more flavor to it but the oat milk was over powering and so it loses the vanilla flavor. What I didn't like was how there was a leak in the ceiling from probably their air conditioner. It was leaking near where customers would stand to place an order. Wasn't sure if it was addressed to either my sister or her husband since they placed their orders first but a bucket and a disclaimer would have been nice. Instead, I had dripping water on me every so often. However, I did notice the employees did walk back and forth in the general area of where that leak was so maybe they would have noticed it. Other then that leak, I felt the cafe was pretty chill. If you live nearby, there are outlets to use for study or work. It was a nice pit stop for us after a mildly lackluster day but made up for it by going to Donner Lake nearby. read more

What I ordered: Peruvian coffee slice of apple pie Peruvian coffee was quite good it was the lightest coffee they had. as for the pie, if you are a person that likes mostly fruit, and very little if any sugar, this is for you. Nice and cinnamon, slightly sweet, more tart and apples were cooked al dente. Nice buttery crust. definitely a great piece of pie. Arrived at 2:55, waited in line for five minutes and when we got up to the counter, cashier said kitchen closes at 3 PM with no exceptions. It was exactly 3 PM! We were disappointed but said ok and left, but fortunately discovered Coffeebar Bakery located just down the street @ 12047 Donner Pass Road. Our family enjoyed a delicious lunch, including assortment of gluten-free items, and bought the pastries we wanted for the weekend. I can't believe I wasted my time here. We came to Wild Cherries Coffee House thinking we'd grab something simple--a bagel. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated. Yet somehow, it took over an hour to get them. An hour. For bagels. The place was chaotic, disorganized, and the staff seemed more interested in socializing than actually helping customers. Watching other people get their orders while we sat waiting was beyond frustrating, especially since our "order" was literally the easiest thing on the menu. By the time our bagels finally arrived, they weren't even worth the wait--stale, unimpressive, and definitely not fresh. If you value your time, skip this place.
