    Quiche - so good
    Shelly H.

I love this place and always stop on mornings I'm passing through Truckee. There are soooo many great eats to choose from! Last time I enjoyed a breakfast quiche and iced vanilla latte. But it was so hard to decide between that and a breakfast burrito or sandwich! My coffee was a little on the sweet side so might omit the vanilla next time. None the less, I'll keep coming back.

The customer service is definitely lacking here. There's already limited space, forcing me to shrink between my friend and husband, and the employees are all entitled brats who don't care who they serve, so long as you hand over your money. The gifts/books/clothing is all overpriced, and there isn't really much to choose from that makes me think, hmm, I want to remember this place when I go home! The food is okay. My husband enjoyed his bagel, and my chicken sandwich tasted dry. The employees tried to bring us the wrong order, and there was confusion about what we ordered (good thing I printed out my receipt). I'm disappointed because this was my best friend's dad's favorite place, and I wanted to share this tribute with her as she recalled her recently deceased father. Anyway, wouldn't recommend to anyone, even if you're passing through Truckee.

A total joke. If you expect to quickly receive your order not the place. Everyone behind the counter is working with their heads cut off. The manager is rude and pretty offensive but I'll keep this short. Also, beware of the breakfast menu "Made for Kids".

Cute coffee shop and bakery with nice outdoor seating! One of the best sugar free lattes I've ever had! They had several sugar-free options- vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut. I got a SF caramel latte with oat milk and it was delicious. I also got the daily breakfast bagel sandwich (with no cheese) and it was also very yummy. There were so many yummy looking pastries, sadly I did not try any :( The weather was perfect so we sat outside and it was gorgeous. Definitely a busy spot, but worth it. If I ever come to Truckee again, I will definitely be back here!

I'm glad we came here when passing Truckee :) their hot panini sandwiches tasted delicious, they had a plethora of food and drink options, and even a super cute area of postcards , children's books, and other cute Tahoe/Truckee goodies. The sandwiches either come with some veggie sticks or chips and salsa (salsa is spicy, I liked it!) they have lots of dessert options as well! The spicy chicken club only has pepperjack with nothing else that's spicy. I was a little disappointed with the veggie sticks but they were a healthier option than chips nonetheless :)

As always, I appreciate the high quality of the coffee and food here. My vanilla latte was just right, not too sweet, and the perfect temp. For a sweet treat I got a gluten free banana walnut muffin, it was amazing! This is still my favorite little coffee shop in Truckee.

This place gets very busy during lunch time. I thought it was just a coffee shop but they have a large menu with bagels, breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, soups and pastries. I got the vegetarian chili - it was tasty and just what I needed. I also got a latte with sugar free hazelnut and almond milk. I love that the reasonable charge for substitutions unlike other coffee shops, specially in CA. Service was good.

Love this place! Family and I always stop by and pick up coffee, smoothies, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches before we leave Truckee. Always a long line but it moves quick. They also offer other items on the menu. I ordered smoothies and open face smoked salmon with cream cheese on a bagel. They were our fave combo every time.

Friendly happy coffeehouse with food. (I regretted ordering the 1/2 grilled portobello/cheese panini; I should've ordered the WHOLE). But the stars of the show are the artisanal baked goods from their own bakery: GORGEOUS pastries, pies, and breads. Sparkling blue Lake Tahoe cookies! And the coolest thing is the floured stenciled images on the loaves of bread. I've never seen that before, except around Napoli, Italy, where they stencil a picture of the famous Faraglioni with powdered sugar on a dessert tart called "Capri."

Loved Wild Cherries so much I left with a tee shirt. I ordered a drip, and had a piece of a cookie and homemade macaroon. $2 drip? Don't mind if I do. Everything was really delicious. Great vibe.

We stopped here on our way home. We were in boomtown with out power and by the time we arrived at Wild Cherries Coffee House they got there power back on. The Verdi fire really put a damper on our vacation. We were happy to find this nice mom and pop shops. It's adorable. Soon as you walk in look left and they have a lot of merchandise. Sweatshirts, Tshirts, reuseable mugs, local books, and much more. They have a good size menu. It's not just a coffee shop. They provide a good selection of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pastries, and breakfast burritos, For lunch they have a vegetarian chili, soup of the day, paninis, and sandwiches. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese and my honey had the special breakfast sandwich of the day. I wish the bagel had more cream cheese. It was only a very think layer. It was still good, it just needed a little more umpth. The breakfast sandwich is about a third larger then Starbucks breakfast sandwich and more substantial. They have a vast drink case. And a huge Pastry and muffin selection. Including fresh cinnamon rolls. If you are looking for a light breakfast, lunch or coffee you need to stop here. Support local businesses.

The employees were kind as was everyone in line, which was very relaxed yet orderly. I made an initial list after seeing the menu online and some last minute substitutions when I saw the items visually. Gruyere and calabrian chili bread - The bread is amazing and still a little warm at 8:45/9 AM. The texture, taste, and flavors were perfect. A great crunch with an airy inside. The flavors complemented one another perfectly. Highly recommend getting bread. Blueberry scone - I had the peach scone on my list but this flavor was a last minute sub. It was jam packed with blueberries with a sweet glaze on top. Super freshly baked texture. Pistachio chocolate morning bun - Amazing. Nice, flaky layers. Filled with delicious chocolate chips and pistachios with a delicious chocolate sort of glaze on top. Raspberry chocolate chip brioche twist - Great flavor with raspberry jam and chocolate sort of like the innards of a choc croissant. It tasted a tiny bit dry while I usually prefer a doughier bake. Giant though! Blondie - Last minute substitution! Really yummy with chocolate chips and butterscotch chips and varied texture. The middle was yummy dough-y while the outside was more baked. Pecan stresual coffee cake - The topping was amazing as was the inner layer which felt sort of like pecan pie. I would have liked a tiny bit more moisture in the actual cake. There's decent dog entertainment in line. Meaning dogs to entertain humans, and some employees even hand out dog treats. Ravioli the doggo (shout out if you are reading this, even though the chances are low). When I left the line looked about equivalently long as when I arrived. Overall amazing and don't sleep on the bread!! Worth waiting in line.

We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

In my opinion, it wasn't enough. There was a steady flow of people, and she couldn't keep up with orders and customer service. We opted for two small scoops of ice cream for the kids: chocolate and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We also ordered the sizzling blonde brownie sundae. It was about $20 for three items. The ice cream was very good, especially the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Very unique flavor and great texture. The blondie was a bit of a letdown. First, the blondie was not "sizzling". It wasn't even really warm. Only placed in a waffle iron for a few seconds. Second, it seemed very dry and crumbly, maybe even overbaked. I thought the ideas at Black Rock are fun, and I think trying one of their milkshakes should be my next visit. However, there are a lot of great ice cream spots in Reno. For just ice cream, I think there is some heavy competition.

Happy hour: unfortunately, the head chef was out of town and the sous chef was unable to make two of the four items on the happy hour menu. This did limit what my brother could eat since he has medical dietary restrictions that prevent him from being able to eat gluten or dairy. He essentially could have nothing lol. There was a Wagyu slider on the menu and we asked if they could just turn it into a small salad with no dairy and they said yes! Everyone else also ordered the sliders as a happy hour dish and they were very good. The wine price for happy hour was on the pricey side with red wine averaging $15 per glass. I think in the future, I would skip happy hour unless all items are available to order and I'd stick with beer for a more affordable happy hour price. 2. Breakfast: a small group of us enjoyed breakfast together and this was probably my favorite meal. I loved the variety on the menu and service was very good as well. I had the breakfast quesadilla, my fiancé had the breakfast burrito, my dad had the Chilaquiles, and my stepmom had the avocado toast. She did wish that the avocado toast was made with a thicker slice of toast as this just looked like grocery store sliced bread. Outside of that, we all felt like our breakfasts had a great amount of flavor and would definitely recommend coming back. My brother and a few other families also dined here throughout the trip and mentioned their love of the restaurant for breakfast as well. 3. Dinner: our last meal as a family was spent here. Our server from happy hour the day before was our server tonight, so we knew it would be a great experience! She was on top of all our orders, friendly, and accommodating. While most of the food was delicious, several of us mentioned that our vegetables were undercooked and almost tasted raw. Too much crunch and not enough cook. That being said, I highly recommend ordering the bread, the Shishito peppers, and the steak. Those were our favorite bites of the night! Honorable mention goes to the soba noodles and the salmon. If it weren't for those vegetables, I would definitely order the salmon again!
