Let me first start by telling you, I am not a chocolate ice cream person, I usually go for vanilla or butter pecan or pistachio, but this chocolate ice cream lured me in. The ice cream was so creamy and no artificial chocolate taste, it was rich and absolutely delicious!! The lady serving me was so sweet and kind. I really enjoyed my visit! You guys!!!! Take the detour from HWY 80 and get yourself a crazy delicious ice cream!! I was traveling from TN to CA and a cool app (Roadtripper) recommended this shop. So glad we went "off trail" to get here. They had the most amazing flavors available and we could have tasted every single one if we wanted. Stopped in because I had a free half sandwich and wanted lunch for the hubs too. I ordered the Berry Bird on Dutch crunch. It's turkey, cranberry sauce, cream cheese, arugula, tomato, and onion. I can't resist turkey with cranberry and this sandwich didn't disappoint. Stuffed full of turkey and fresh ingredients; it was yummy. The arugula was a nice touch,as most sandwiches only go iceberg or green leaf lettuce. The Hub had a full sized The Fixe on Dutch crunch: Porchetta, salami, provolone, red pepper, aïoli, olives, pepperoncini, arugula, tomato, onion, and seasonings. This sandwich had a kick to it! I cut off a bit to taste and it was great. Hub said he really enjoyed the mix of flavors. He ate the entire sandwich! Parking was easy and the staff are helpful and friendly. Limited seating, but I was a to go order. A hidden gem in the side of the shopping center. Reasonable priced too, most sandwiches are $11.75 to just over $12.00. And salads at $12.75. It has been years since I have had the ice cream here! I remember when you could just catch them at food truck Friday's with their little cart, my how far they have come! First off, no one is complaining about the fact that you can grab a sandwich here if you are looking for something a little more savory but their ice cream is top notch! The Tricycle sandwich caught my attention, I picked Italian herb bread from so many great choices. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. The breads are baked daily! Heard about the Home Means Nevada flavor (sweet cream, sage, & pinenut) and had to try it for myself. It did not disappoint! Mildly sweet and subtly herbal. It has been a minute since I have had the ice cream at Icecycle but they are still one of the best in town. My wife and I split a flight so that we could try more flavors and they were all very good. They cut all the meats for the sandwiches, which is a nice touch, but adds to wait. The sandwich and malt were so good, I stopped by again when I had to return to Reno the following day. Since moving to Reno, I have noticed there aren't many ice cream shops around. I was both surprised and delighted to find Icecycle Creamery! Icecycle has a few permanent flavors, but most of the options rotate in and out. And they don't just have your typical ice cream flavors! While I was in the store, I sampled the dark chocolate, white chocolate mocha, lime zest guava, and Thai tea. All four were great and I honestly regret not sampling more. We ended up getting two split scoops, one with Thai tea and dark chocolate, the other with Thai tea and white chocolate mocha (aka all of the ones we tried). For two split scoops (4 scoops total), we paid a little over $9, which in today's economy, seems like a steal. We visited on a Sunday around 1 pm and there was only one other customer in the store. While we ate our ice cream, another couple walked in, grabbed ice cream, and left. I am not sure if this is the norm for this place. It was nice to be at a place that wasn't crowded, but given how delicious the ice cream was, I would have expected more folks on a nice summer day! Overall, I am so glad I stumbled upon Icecycle Creamery online and had a chance to check it out. I will definitely be back throughout the summer to try more of the flavors! read more

Close to 5 stars but not quite. Basically ice cream and sandwiches. Sandwiches are about $12 and are good size but not huge. I'd say it's more like a $10 sandwich but what doesn't seem expensive these days? They make an interesting "crusty" bread which has a sweet crust and soft inside which was different. Maybe a little too much on the sweet side but still overall very good sandwich. They appear to be a little understaffed at peak hours so some patience may be in order. Dining room is small with if few chairs and tiny tables outside if you want a view of the parking lot and gas station a coin toss away. You might not be getting any special offers (I saw mention of a happy hour Mon-Sat but doesn't seem to be the case anymore - or confused it with another place.) Even with that, I think these local type casual eateries are good for the community and should be supported when possible instead of Subway or other chains. read more

The gentlemen who owns the shop was so nice to tell us about his store and how he makes the ice cream. We probably tasted the whole case and I can say not one flavor I didn't like. They were all so good. I loved the honey ice-cream, Reno 911 and the Nevada ice cream with the pine nuts is unusual but yummy. I bought my daughter a 3 scooper and I took a pint of Reno 911 home in case of emergency need of something delicious. Came here for date night with the fiance and it was the perfect spot to end our night! We were greeted by I believe the owner! He had a cool mustache and he gave us the run down of the shop and some history on how it got started which was so fun to listen to! The shop itself is adorable. It's small inside and clean! They offer a lot of flavored ice cream, you can buy by the pint in their freezer selection. You can have a milkshake, sundae, float, affogato, you name it! They make the ice cream themselves in house and the flavors are unique! I got carrot cake and it had raisins in it. My fiance got the smores one and it had soft graham cracker in it. Only one person was working when we went one evening. He had to do it all. One lady even left after waiting a bit. The most disappointing part though, was the ice cream. The worker advertised well, that all ice cream is home made, so we were excited. But when we returned home and had the mango passion fruit ice cream, I was SO disappointed- the ice cream was separated (with fat chunks), and was NOT fun to eat (and not tasty). The kids didn't even want to eat it. I make ice cream at home occasionally, and it has separated before, but I would not dare sell it to someone for any amount of money. Mistakes happen, but it is very unprofessional to sell a product that is spoiled, especially when your business is a creamery! read more

I've had Icecycle Creamery in my bookmarks for a long time and finally got the chance to visit on my last trip. This ice cream shop is tucked away in a nondescript strip mall off McCarran west of the mall. There is a shared parking lot that should be good most of the time. The exterior of the creamery was very basic with little indication that there was even an ice cream shop inside. Inside, there was also little decoration or even seating - although this could be a COVID legacy. Nevertheless, sometimes the focus is on the product rather than the wrapping. I looked over the several flavors and really did not see much interesting compared to other gourmet ice cream places. They offered me several samples, and I settled for Home Means Nevada which had a sweet cream base and cookie bits. It comes with a larger cookie accent which is nice. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the product. It seemed grainy and light more like a store brand than a gourmet product. This was consistent with their other flavors I sampled too. The flavors were also somewhat muted and nothing special. Normally, any ice cream is good ice cream. However when you are paying for a premium product, I would expect something better. I was rather disappointed with Icecycle Creamery. Most of the reviews seem to focus on the sandwiches which may be great, but the namesake ice cream seems to miss the mark. read more

Absolutely love this place! Fantastic service, and great prices for interesting flavors that you won't find anywhere else in Reno. Found out about this place at a garlic festival where they were serving two different types of garlic flavored ice cream. Loved both flavors so went to check on their shop. They had many interesting flavors that I wanted to try. Since it was October, lots of pumpkin inspired flavors. I actually didn't go for the pumpkin flavor this time, and got the Home Means Nevada flavor, which had sage and pine nuts in it. Absolutely loved it. It was different, delicious, but simple and not overwhelming. I got it in a cup, which came with a delicious waffle disk. I am most definitely coming back again to try the other flavors and taking advantage of their flight option which lets you try 5 different small scoops. This is a really unique spot with great ice cream! If you're a die hard rocky road or mint chip person though, this place is not for you -- you have to be willing to step outside the box. They have flavors like chocolate ginger, cookie roulette, the munchies etc and each is unique (and I think rotating?). We tried the Cookie Roulette, which is a sweet cream base and uses all the unsold fresh baked cookies from the day prior. So who knows what'll be in there, what ratio, etc but it was really tasty! We noticed a lemon ones, a gingerbread and I think a peanut butter too. I sampled the Cookie Butter one first -- ultimately didn't choose it because I just wanted MORE of that speculoos flavor -- but the Deep Chocolate ended up being the winner for me. Super rich and creamy and really lived up to the name.
