Pat & Tom, the owners were personable and informative about the area and the B&B. Although transplants themselves you can appreciate their knowledge of the area and know that this is home for them now. Eight rooms, each with their own bathroom and unique personality. Our room, a 1st floor spacious bedroom with a queen bed & twin day bed and trundle. Enough room for 3-4 comfortably. Modest bathroom with built in storage shelves, sink, toilet and vintage claw foot tub with a modern shower head. Breakfast at B&Bs are one of the highlights of the stay. Here was no different. To start, Greek yogurt with honey, fresh diced fruit (apples & oranges), and warm zucchini bread. Followed by a vegetable omelette, sliced strawberries, roasted potatoes and tomatoes. Seasoned to taste, appetizing and filling. Drink options varied from coffee, tea and juices. Charming B&B that I would recommend if you want to stay in a home-style environment with personal attention, great conversation, snacks, drinks and above par b/fast to fill you up.

Not only is the house full of snacks, Pam is HYSTERICALLY funny. I've stayed here twice, and it has been a delight every time!! Breaksfast rocks!!... even though it is a big change from what I would ever normally eat. The house is clean and the decor is charming. Free wireless internet access too! I would take the Kerr House any day over a hotel.

So, like a restaurant needs to be great, not pedestrian, for me to even mention it to friends, lodging is an even more critical issue for me. I stay at all types of lodging from five star hotel complexes to some really sketchy B&B, AirB&B, and a few time I have couch surfed since a town was totally booked for the night. So when I travel overnight for myself, lodging must be excellent. If I am in the Lincolnton area that is a simple choice. The White Rose Manner! Allison and John are attentive hosts, all to willing to assist in making your stay what you need it to be. Allison is an accomplished cook that can accommodate your dietary needs if she is made aware. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. I tend, if there in the early evening, to play a game of chess with John, who also is an accomplished D&D dungeon master. Conversation is always pleasant, the grounds take you away from traffic, PowerPoint presentations and if you choose to turn it off (I do) cell phone calls. I arrive, get to relax in a wonderful environment, take care of what brought me to the area, then relax some more. You can find me some weekends in a chair by the fireplace, with an adult beverage lost in the thoughts deep and emotionally satisfying a result of the environment created by the hosts. The White Rose Manor is excellent, just excellent. Give it a try sometime, you will not regret your decision.

Each bedroom in the two story lodge has a feeling of privacy as well as a unique ambiance. Anne has gone to great lengths to make every room unusual and to make every guest feel special. One feels relaxed and at ease as soon as one enter the front door of the Lodge. This was my third trip to Carolina Mountain Lodge, and I look forward to many more. I love waking up to the cool mountain breeze and the smell of freshly brewed coffee and breakfasting on fresh eggs from Anne's happy chickens. I enjoy exploring the quaint mountains towns and seeing the panoramic views from the mountain top. I love having cocktails at dusk on Anne's tranquil patio and sleeping peacefully in a big, comfy bed. I highly recommend Carolina Mountains Lodge in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains as a vacation destination.

We couldn't wait for homemade breakfast and lovely chats with Mary and Andy each morning. Mary and Andy were so conscious of giving us our space and privacy, but we grew to love them so much, we found ourselves seeking out ways to spend time with and learn from them. They gave us a tour of the home, which has been carefully renovated to preserve its rich history and architectural character, while also providing the comforts and luxuries of a modern home. We learned about the history of Salisbury and how the town has evolved since its founding in 1755!
