My cashier was so nice. He looks like he might be a teenager. He let me know there's usually more bread. For some reason, I thought that was cute, considering there was a decent amount of bread there and that he was being a good salesman. I wish I could give this place more stars, but my cupcakes were disappointing. I got a chocolate and a yellow cake. The frosting tasted like it had been in styrofoam for a few days. This was the same for both cupcakes. I had to take the frosting off both of them. The actual cake was decent, but overall, not a great cupcake. I had four small cookies that were good. I will definitely go again and try something else. They are a local business. There were so many yummy looking things and with all these other amazing reviews, likely my cupcakes were a fluke. I absolutely loved this little bakery! They had such a huge assortment of items and I tried a little bit of everything. Their cupcakes had gorgeous icing on top, as you can see from the pictures, and tasted equally as good. The icing on top was soft and flavorful while the cake was moist and melted in your mouth. My favorite was definitely the red velvet as the cream cheese icing was absolutely delicious and the red velvet cake had such good texture and flavor. Their banana bread was also delicious as it had some kind of crunchy crumble on top that added texture and flavor to the bread while delivering on the banana flavoring without being too overwhelming. They also had a Nutella cinnamon roll that tasted great after being heated up for a few minutes. Some of my absolute favorite items were the mini-pies. I tried the apple and blueberry, both were absolutely delectable. The crust on each was perfect and the fruit was so fresh and tasty. I could probably eat 20 or more of those mini pies. My least favorite items were probably the donuts. They tasted quite stale and hard, but in their defense, I did come right before closing so the donuts were probably out for a while. Their pumpkin cookies had a wonderful light and chewy texture to them but too subtle of pumpkin flavoring. Their cake pops were aesthetically pleasing and were decent tasting, again red velvet was definitely my favorite. I highly suggest checking this place out as they have something for everyone! New bakery in the neighborhood. I had a birthday party that I was throwing for a friend. Decided last minute to order a cake just in case. When I called and ordered I was surprised that a cake so large that could feed 15 and have leftovers was so affordable. To be honest, I was thinking if it was too small or not aesthetically pleasing I'd just skip it and not present it.....when I picked it up I was beyond happy. The cake was exactly what they stated. If there would be 0 stars I would put it for this place. I ordered a cake for Mother's Day 3 days notice for it . When I arrived to pick it up the guy had frosting and the happy Mother's Day post right on top of the face of the picture I provided to be on the cake. He did not call me about changing the picture. He did not call me to make a decision about blocking the face on the cake. And when I spoke to him he looked like he was on drugs and I wanted to speak to the owner and it turned out he was the owner. Absolutely horrible experience. I thought the picture and the faces were gonna show up on the cake he had frosting and a long note on top of the face. Only the mouth was showing! What type of a cake artist are you? I'm so happy I found this place! They have "Conchas", "Bolillos" and other delicious baguettes and pastries. They do such a great job on the dough--soft and fresh! A huge plus on their everyday tamales! I usually wake up late-morning and when I crave for Pan Dulce, I also like a tamale to go with it. It's such a drag to go for Mexican bread and then travel somewhere else to get tamales and hope that they still have some left since early birds get the worms. Well thank goodness for Sweet Temptations, I can get my bread fix AND tamales fix here anytime before 6p.m. :P I love the fact that their tamales are filled with the correct ratio of Masa and filling. This bakery is right by me in Roger's Park. The owner is as sweet as her confections, and is such a pleasant person to have worked with. She made last minute cupcakes for my 5 year old son who is Incredibles obsessed! Without hesitation she told me what she could make, and I picked them up this morning. I couldn't be happier to go here because they have a parking lot on the side to accommodate me, or any other patrons. The adorable cupcakes were a sensational hit. I would not recommend this place. I put a cupcake order a week in advance. The guy told me to place pay when I picked up. So I did that. Because The pricing was questionable. He wasn't even sure of the pricing. I come in to pick the cupcake up and the woman just stands there and say no order. Not even a full complete sentence or explanation as to why. I explained that I place d this order a week ago for my daughter. I had to ask her to look through the papers. Then I asked her to call the gentleman who took my order. She finally called someone after taking three customers who came in after me. And went and found my paper with my order on it. Then the woman said it didn't get made because I didn't pay... after I was instructed to pay when I picked up. They also had my telephone number. They couldn't have called to ask for payment. Or to let me know it was a issue with my order. This place has terrible customer service. The woman could barely explain anything. Very broken English. And was nice to the other Mexican customers. I have used them before and it was just ok. Cakes look nice but doesn't taste good at all. I am so displeased with this place. I wouldn't recommend at all!
