I have passed this place a million times but have two other bakeries that I like so I never went in. Today I was craving a slice of cake and because this was in my path, I pulled over and went in. They have a number of cakes on display plus various cupcakes both in packs and individual, plus other pastries and holiday cookies and a small variety of cake slices, including tres leches, mocha and chocolate ganache. I chose the chocolate ganache and couldn't wait to try it. It was so moist and delicious and while I'm a chocolate lover, it didn't even need the chocolate icing! I also picked up a package of the holiday cookies as a gift for our neighbors and I saw the perfect cookie tray that I plan to go back and get to take to our holiday party at work this week. They decorated our cutting cake beautifully with sugar flowers and they worked with us to figure out how many sheet cakes would be necessary for our 110 guests. Giving 4 stars because it's a bit pricey and a little more barebones (they don't have the decorating materials that you'd expect) for said prices but I must say, the cake I ordered was delicious! The cake was 10/10 for sure! I bought some of the pre-packaged cookies that were set out for purchase. They were stale and a little expensive. I didn't even get the pre-packaged cookie item that I wanted most because it was way too much money but I suspect I made the right choice since the ones I bought weren't that fresh. Maybe they can label the baked goods with baked on/sell by dates for people that want to buy. But again, I loved the cake I bought. Maybe the pre-packaged baked goods are going stale because people aren't coming in and buying them. So...I'd definitely recommend giving this bakery a shot with said caveats but also, maybe bake less pre-packaged goods so they're fresh for the grab and go customer. I'll definitely go there again but I'd love it if they only sold fresh baked pre-packaged goods. read more

The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality that you get. I purchased a lemon cake and it was nothing short of divine. Flavorful but not very sweet and perfectly moist. Sweet Temptations Surprise and delight! is what I felt about the small Evanston bakery Sweet Temptations last week. On Thursday I brought in a photo of a graduation cake that had charmed me on Instagram. It had been created in a patisserie in Paris, obviously for a girl or young woman. On the top was a flowered mortarboard with a pink tassel and starting at the bottom and climbing half way up were row after row of swirly roses in various shades of pink like wide ruffles on a petticoat. "Can you make this by Sunday evening, a red velvet cake with butter cream frosting?" I asked the baker, holding my breath because the job seemed complicated and the time seemed short. A moment's thought and then he answered "Yes." Even the mortarboard itself would be delicious he explained. He would make it of fondant and mold the cap part around a hidden Rice Crispie treat!
