Had my first visit last month. This place reminds me of my old dentist in another state with new equipments and clean, bright facility and modern communication system (text/email/phone). A little disappointed with Sweet Tooth Care. I had a severe toothache in one of the teeth I had a large filling in (a year after), I actually got it filled at STC and figured that I can make a call for a check up. First time I called, no one picked up. Second time I called, the receptionist sounded busy/ impatient and said would call me back. 20 mins later, I got a call and I explained my situation and she just referred me to a specialist... but I was like I got it filled here and I'm really in pain...... Nope no help from them. Finally I called North Dental Valley (on 2nd floor of the same building) and they were so nice and accommodating. Got an appt the next day and they fixed the problem within 1 week!! Needless to say, I will be switching. Also I keep getting estimates for fillings I don't want to and feel like they are a little pushy... read more

I have been coming to Sweet Tooth Care for over 10 years since I was a young kid with cavities! Now, I only come twice a year for cleanings, but every time I'm here, the service is excellent and the office is always clean and neat. If you have children, I highly recommend Dr. Jessica Nien. She is the sweetest, most gentle dentist on the planet. She and her staff also speak Mandarin and Taiwanese, and as a team they provide thorough and highly-focused customer service. The staff are all extremely nice and hold good conversations considering the patients usually can't respond with more than a grunt. Booking appointments can be a little more difficult since they are always so booked - but I guess that's an indicator of how great the practice is doing. The office feels very modern and clean, which are both extremely essential in the healthcare field. My family and I have been coming here for over a decade. We continue to move further and further away from the office (Milpitas to Fremont to Richmond), and we still make the trek out every six months because we only ever have pleasant experiences here. read more

I went to Sweet Tooth Care to redo a crown that was leaking and old. My dentist, Dr. Mary He, took great care to understand my X-Rays and dental needs. She also explained what potential problems I may have with my teeth, gums, and dental hygiene, then offered solutions. I really appreciated the time and patience she and her team took to ensure me a mouthful of healthy teeth. Abiding by the culture of this facility, Dr. He was super patient, kind, and thorough in everything she did. I received state of the art care and saw her use the CEREC machine to make my new crown from top to bottom right then and there. While I was waiting for the crown to be polished & baked, I even got to play Wii on site which just made the time fly by =) I highly recommend Dr. He and her expertise! read more

Sweet Tooth Care is great! My wife has been a patient of Dr. Nien's since childhood - and she recommended I come here after a lapse (understatement) in regular dental check-ups. They were thoughtful, attentive, and informative - knowing it can be nerve-wracking to sit in that chair. Luckily I am pretty thorough with my oral hygiene, so I did not need a lot of work done. Cleanings are great - they use a high pressure cleaning tool to remove plaque on the surface of your teeth. They do use a dental pick in hard to reach places, but they are super careful and always ask whether they are causing pain or discomfort. Plus, they can pop in a movie if you need the distraction. Would not hesitate to recommend Sweet Tooth - I've already sent them a few friends looking for a new dentist. read more

Finding a good dentist is almost impossible to do--first, you have to figure out who's nearby, then you have to figure out whether they're any good, and lastly, there has to be some degree of personal connection. Still, I can say without hesitation that Sweet Tooth is the best dentist I've ever had--I've been coming to see Dr. Nien and co. since at least 2002, back when it was a tiny little office, and even though it's gone incredibly high tech and the practice now has two locations, I still feel less like I'm going to the dentist and more like I'm visiting family. (Insert joke about pulling teeth here.) I love them so much that I kept them as my dentist even when I moved 50 miles away to San Francisco, and even when I lived in Houston. What sets Sweet Tooth apart from the rest? First, a commitment to using the most modern technology available. Second, really great personalities--even as the place has expanded, Dr. Nien seems to have managed to hire only people with sunny dispositions and gentle hands who treat you great. And lastly, they really do treat every patient with respect--even when I was an uninsured grad student, Sweet Tooth made sure my treatments were affordable so I didn't have to go without dental care while working towards my law degree. I read a couple of the less positive reviews, and honestly, it doesn't sound like they're describing the same place. In my 8 years as a patient, Sweet Tooth has never failed to find me and remind me of an appointment, even when I was living out of state, using both phone and email. I've been coming to Sweet Tooth for the past year and I've left every visit pleased. I switched from my pediatric dentist who I'd been going to since I was 5 recently, because my original dentist only worked 2 days out of the entire week. This made scheduling an appointment extremely hard. With the help of my mom, she told me to check out her dentist who she'd been going to for a while. My first impression of the dentist clinic was "wow! this place is clean and techy!!" Niki was extremely helpful,friendly, and welcoming. I didn't have to wait long for my annual teeth clean either. All of the hygienists were informative and gentle on my teeth. My first visit lasted 1 hr, and the whole time they were cleaning and taking x-rays! During the hr, I even had the chance to watch movies! They have a computer screen attached to each chair that allows you to watch movies while your teeth at being worked on. Talk about first class treatment! If you're looking for a trustworthy and gentle dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Nien and her team. They are great and I'm so glad I found them! read more

As a kid I've had some pretty bad and uncaring dentists, and that left a sour taste in my mouth. I first came here six years ago to get teeth pulled out for braces. I was quite scared, but Dr. Nien and her staff reassured me that it would be ok. The procedure was seamless and Dr. Nien explained every step. After the whole procedure was finished, she gave my mom and I instructions on how to take care of my mouth for the next few days. Is it odd to say that that tooth extraction visit was one of the most pleasant dental experiences? 6 years later, I'm still a patient of Dr. Nien. They used to have a cozy little clinic a few blocks away but since then they have upgraded to this business suite and incorporated high tech equipment and modern decor. Some dental offices aren't as clean as patients would like it to be, but no worries, the bathrooms, the seats, and everything else is squeaky clean. Although I despise cleanings and other sorts of dental work, I really do like coming here. Nikki is friendly and welcoming, and the rest of the staff who work on your teeth are pleasant and will strike up friendly chatter. They always use gentle hands and take every measure to make sure that you, the patient, are comfortable. Cleanings are always thorough and they take the time to clean each and every tooth with care. I love this place. Sweet tooth has been nothing but the best customer service. All the staff is very kind and friendly. They always greet you as you walk in. The best in pediatric care. When I first brought my son Quincy to see the dentist I myself was a little scared for him because of the pediatric dentist I went to as a child. The min we met Dr. Nien, all my fears went away. She was very kind and most importantly, knows how to talk to kids. I think being able to talk to kids and calm them down makes a huge impact in pediatric care. I believe she also did my daughters filling (Jazmine). She is only 5 years old and that was her first filling. My daughter has a fear of going to the dentist and she made our visit very pleasant. She prepared me to what to say or what to do next during the her filling. She had really good techniques in not frightening or scaring my daughter the big needle to numb her. I've been taking my kids here for several years. Everyone in this office is friendly and professional. They are great working around my work schedule and the kids school schedule when making appointments. My daughter had to have a procedure done recently and they care she received was amazing. At the start of the appointment, my daughter was shaking she was so nervous about having a shot and the use of a laser. They calmed her down and made sure she was comfortable the whole time; she said the shot did not hurt at all. They took the time to call our home a few hours after we left the office just to ask how she was doing. The small touches have a big impact: calling to make sure a patient is doing well, individual video screens playing a patient's choice of movie during exams, keeping the office spotless throughout the day, kindness and understanding. read more

We have tried other places for my daughter. I have seen how staff has little patience for young children, and some of them has dirty or poor maintained playroom with broken/ dirty toys or books. Sweet Tooth is clean and staffs are kids friendly. Now, all my 3 children are patients here, including myself. They have a small playroom that helps to occupy my children while I'm receiving treatment. They also have movies for children to watch during the treatment. read more

I have been here for 3 years and love this place very much. It's very clean and comfortable. Dentist and staff are all nice and experienced. They always help me to fix my tooth issue, no matter it's a regular tooth cleaning or special treatment. I did an unlay on one of my tooth. For the first few weeks, it was very sensitive and I can barely bite anything. Dr was very patient and helped me to adjust the height of the filling. Now everything works perfectly with my tooth. Similar to the other review, please take all recommendations with a grain of salt crystals. There is no way to go back to how things once were once you head down a certain chosen course. Ultimately you decide what is best for yourself depending on the level of how bad your teeth needs repair. Consider that some operations can cause years of expensive and unnecessary invasions. Accompanied with side effects or anything likely to impact your daily routine is possible. Others who goad you constantly do not always have the best intentions or are blissfully ignorant on your quality of life years. Money speaks the entire truth put it that way. You would need large wheelbarrows full of that that to also further mend any previous injuries done. I am not made of money and I never was. Face the facts, keep things natural and there is nothing to worry about. Even if they do fix this spot, I am located miles away from the state unable to come back even if I tried. However, if you have been living with moderately perfect teeth and just want simple cleanings without any prior complaints with molar bites, chewing, canals, or ruptures. Then, Dr. Nien is simply the BEST person to do that job around town although her stubborn, overbearing, and consistently pushy demeanor is very meddlesome for unnecessarily brutish suggestions. Do not listen to everything said, it may sound logical but there are hidden repercussions which vary too much from person to person. If it becomes non stop leave immediately. Careful cleaning with special attention not to poke around the cavities, this is a hit and miss with most dental facilities. All equipment have been handled well and the facility is always sparking clean. Very kid friendly, fun filled entertainment room complete with what kids would want to see to make a trip less frightful. Bathrooms are clean with fresh toothbrushes to use, the front reception area is glamorously decorated with appropriate glassware with an exceptional drinking station. It sure blends in conceptually with the glitz of Silicon Valley, the most expensive place in California. Everyone likes showing up at work to professionally welcome all the lovely party guests, well this does this take me back to my Ivy League setting. This sector does fall underneath the five star category though. From visiting offices in Oregon and the blue collar areas, I will admit the service here is impeccable. But that does not fully erase my skeptical thoughts from the first evaluation. Still cannot go risk anything. I have been a patient with Sweet Tooth care since the last 10 years and have nothing but great things to say about them and Dr. Nien. Dr. Nien is very knowledgeable,gentle and understanding. I have had to do root canal procedure with them and they tried to make me as comfortable as they could . They knew I am scared of dental procedures so helped by being gentle with me . They also follow up and call and check and even help you in case you have pain over the weekend . Dr Nien personally looks after you , and will do anything even on a weekend to make sure you are not suffering. Very Knowledgeable and a great person too. Their facility is clean and beautiful and has great set set up for kids .The staff is also wonderful and will try to help in everything. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was a patient here at Sweet Tooth for probably 5 years it WAS a great facility who I reffered many people to until, it began with my refferals getting over charged and having work done they didn't need...I looked bad but I had no issue until I got a root canal started Nov 2015 and 1st appt good 2nd appointment in Dec bad! When the dentist cemented in my tooth it broke and it was painful for them to pull out and I had to begin process over again. Lets flash foward to there being no appts until January 2016 then my cap one day falls out of my mouth at work in front of a client! Then I had to be without a cap for 2 days....then finally they put the cap in not polished very rough...uncomfortable I couldn't even eat. Then finally in February I get the tooth cemented in work finished but Nikki says no bill your done. I really pressed if I neesed to pay anything please tell me now. Should I put a deposit in case no no no says Nikki. Flasfoward to APRIL I have a bill due immediately for like 800...My refferal got charged for things her insurance paid for. My tooth has been tight and uncomfortable for months I finally find a new dentist that says you have decay under that tooth wtf!! Please do not go to Sweet Tooth dental they will jepprdize your tooth health. I also brought my 4 year old son here for cleanings and they refused to do xrays said no he is too young blah blah blah I have now been to 3 pediatric dentist that said that's false. We are very disappointment of Sweet Tooth Care. It was a good dental office with clean environment and friend staffs. It was also good to have teeth service there before 2 years. However, it's getting worse and worse recently with very unprofessional services. With more and more unprofessional new hired dentists and very rush schedule. For example, Dr. Cathleen Liu... I come for tooth fitting, and need your concentration. Please not letting me to listen your boyfriend and family cases between you and your hygienist from beginning to the end. What service quality did you provide? And then, check my tooth again aound few months later, and requested me to redo the fitting again on the same tooth. In addition, patient has the right to select treatment that they plan to receive, and the bad attitude from Dr. Cathleen is totally not acceptable. We understand that you might not have kids, so you cannot tell the feeling parents have and kept to push some unnecessary treatments. However, fake professional advise and rude attitude is totall unacceptable. Well, environment is good and staffs friendly, but we comes for professional advise and service of dental treatment. Sweet Tooth Care totally cannot provide it. It's like a apple with good looking, but rot inside. With Sweet Tooth Care super high charge for every service, but worse and unprofessional service. Hello, I moved recently to the Bay Area and based on the reviews I went to see this Dentist. I travel a lot so I know the importance of having a good dentist. I had taken some previous X-ras and needed to take care of a small cavity, had no pain or anything. I went to the appointment did the cleaning, the cleaning was fine. When the doctor start examine my x-rasy she made it sound like it was very bad, the same x-rays that my previous doctor said I had a small cavity. In total they wanted to do 2400 work on my teeth, the limit of my teeth insurance. I asked for the opinion of 2 previous doctors, both of them said the x-rays look fine. Another main complain is that in this dental office they speak Chinese/mandarin all the time even when talking about you. This is incredible unprofessional and disrespectful. I already canceled and will not go to this dentist again. read more

I have been coming here since Jessica Nien took over my last dentist. One of my biggest fears in the whole wide world is the dentist. Dr. Nien and her entire staff always, always, always ensure that I'm doing okay. They are very caring and accommodate to any situations or needs that you have. I personally hate getting fillings. I need numbing EVERY time, no matter how deep the cavity is. Dr. Nien or whoever that is operating on me is always soooooo nice about it and always make sure I'm doing okay. They turn on movies for me to watch, which always distracts me. I love it, it makes time go by so fast. Also, everything they have here is REALLY new and REALLY clean. Everything feels very high tech because everything is operated by computer now. The office is also decorated with Dr. Nien's own photography. It adds such a personal and warm touch to the office. I still hate my 6 month cleaning but knowing that it's at Dr. Nien's office and knowing how careful and nice her staff are really puts me at ease when I'm sitting in the waiting room. read more

We've been seeing by this office for the past 3 years. At first, love the no wait schedule and friendly services. However in the last 6-9 months, services and quality of the work have been noticeably downgraded. It's great there is no wait but it's NOT great that the quality is compromised to keep the next schedule on time. On the other hand, the appointment is way booked that can't get a good decent apt less than 1 month apt. :( read more

I have been going to Sweet Tooth Care for about a year and a half for regular dental care. I initially chose the place because of positive reviews on Yahoo Local, and I was not disappointed. At the first dental cleaning appointment, since I was a new patient, they took a bunch of x-rays as well as photos of my teeth. Dr Nien showed me the pictures on the spot. Then she did a very thorough cleaning. At my old dentist in another state, the cleaning was done by a hygenist, and the doctor pops in only for about 3 minutes at the end to take a quick look at my teeth and xrays. So I was impressed by the attention to detail shown by the dentist. I have also had cleanings with Dr. Wong, the other dentist at the office. Both Dr. Nien and Dr. Wong are very friendly, and most importantly, provide excellent dental care. They take the time to ask me if I have any concerns, and during the cleaning, they patiently explain any concerns they have. They make sure that I have a comfortable experience and I have certainly come to trust the quality of their care, to the point that I have recommended them to people at work. read more

So hard to find a good dentist, and ive been to so many with different procedures. I think this place is by far the best. Very thourough and nice. Very close to where i live as well, and thats a plus. The only complaint i have is that it is very hard to schedule an appointment since i work a lot and go to school fulltime.
