I've been here several times over the last 5 years and only recently had an odd experience. I love the variety of products in the store and was pleased to see that they had been moved to a larger space inside of the Factory at Franklin! When roaming the store, I would've loved to see more "Franklin" and local apparel - of course they have a good selection of items but I saw lots of "Brentwood" and "Columbia" items and not a lot of Franklin and Nashville which I think would be beneficial for them as they are in the Factory in Franklin. Usually love their young friendly staff but went earlier in the week and had an odd interaction with an older woman at the register who made a weird comment about my shirt. She also seemed to have no clue what she was doing when trying to ring me up. Her colleague had to help her but I literally stood there for 30 minutes JUST TO BE CHECKED OUT. Anyways, usually have a good experience but they are going through change and im assuming they are experiencing some bumps here and there... Either way I will be back and love this little shop dearly.

As a lover of fun treats this was just the info I want to know about. The shop/factory is located in the busiest area of downtown so be prepared to find expensive parking if you are driving(we paid $32 for 2 hrs) This was such a fun stop though! The day we were there I saw two separate groups doing the make your own goo goo tour. We didn't plan that far ahead so decided to just do the design your own and the workers made it for us using our custom fillings and coatings. It took only about 15 min after ordering to be done. It was about 90 degrees out the day we went so we sat at one of the stools to give our creation a taste at its freshest and not risk it melting. It was delicious of course! If you go, don't forget to check out the Premium limited edition flavors. During our visit they had Fluffer Crunch, The Howie and PB &P. We almost purchased the Fluffer Crunch but we decided we had enough candy at this point. Next time!

We accidently ran across it while heading to the Lainey Wilson place next door. Once I saw it, I had to stop in. Inside is a homage to the Goo Goo Cluster with history, trivia and lots of product sold to go. I do wish they had free samples available. If so, I probably would've bought more product. We bought a few items as it was and are still enjoying them back home in the Seattle area. This place is fun to check out and learn about the Goo Goo Cluster.

We asked if staff could use a…read moreclean scoop and serve from a clean or unopened tub from the back to reduce gluten cross-contact. Staff told us they were not allowed to do that and could only serve from what was already in front. There was also a posted Kilwins "Handling Allergen Requests" notice stating that stores should not open a fresh tub, use separate scoops, or implement special handling procedures for allergy requests. I understand no ice cream shop can guarantee allergen-free food. However, families with celiac disease should know this location would not take even basic cross-contact precautions such as a clean scoop or clean/unopened tub. Because of that, my daughter could not safely order. Very disappointing experience. In Response to owner : Hi Ashley, I appreciate your response, but this actually highlights the concern. Saying that using a clean scoop or an unopened tub "would not make a product safer" is very troubling for families with celiac disease. Those steps may not eliminate all risk in a shared environment, but they absolutely can reduce one obvious source of gluten cross-contact: shared scoops and front tubs that may have been touched by cones, cookies, brownies, or other gluten-containing items. We were not asking Kilwins to guarantee that anything was gluten-free or allergen-free. We understand there is still risk in a shared environment. We were asking for basic cross-contact precautions so we could make an informed decision. What is disappointing is that Kilwins' policy appears to remove that choice entirely by refusing to take any special handling steps, even when a family clearly understands the remaining risk. For a child with celiac disease, being told that the store will not even use a clean scoop or unopened tub is not "keeping customers safe" -- it means the customer is effectively excluded from being able to participate. I appreciate that your intent may be to avoid misleading people, but the better approach would be to say: "We cannot guarantee no cross-contact, but we can use a clean scoop and unopened tub upon request." Families with celiac disease deserve accurate information and reasonable precautions, not a blanket refusal.
