I previously consigned with a larger, national brand in the city and had multiple bad experiences, the culmination of which was them literally stealing a bag from me. That would NEVER happen here. Kelsey's combines high powered expertise and reach with small business personal touch. Items I drop off are meticulously tracked, and receipts/pricing is sent for my approval usually within minutes of me leaving. I've sold many designer bags, shoes and pieces of clothing with them and have never had issues with their pricing or payouts. I'm very knowledgeable of the market myself and we always see eye to eye on pricing. You can collect your balance at the beginning of each month and they'll have a check ready and waiting for you. Despite absolutely having the knowledge and ability to resell my pieces myself, I choose to work with them because it's such a great experience from beginning to end. Their payouts are at a higher percentage than what I have seen elsewhere, but even if they weren't - I'd still choose to consign with them. The owner of these boutiques brings in the the most unique products and there is always something new! Anyhow, fast forward I brought it in 3 days later to explain the issue. Worker said she had to contact owner as she was unsure of what to do- totally fine. Owner reached out and said dresses are final. My problem is obviously it was defective and any dress I would expect would last longer than 2 hours. She also reached back out and said to bring it to seamstress. Which is not an option given all material has been compromised. In addition, she reached out to vendor and they said nothing they can do because it's wear and tear. So she said I should reach out to them. I would give a 0 star if possible Absolutely unbelievable. She suggested I did something in the dress- I was sitting at a dinner? And then commented that I'm making a big deal out of a $300 purchase... Im absolutely appalled by her customer service and not working with me and having an option even the possibility of another dress as obvious as it is that this particular dress is defective, a refund, or even a credit- NOTHING. I would understand had I just wore dress and tried to return but I would not expect any apparel to not work after 2 hours this particular dress had a zip that broke. What I love about Clever girl, besides the fact that it's a mini-department store is that they truly strive to curate items that are stylish (without being too trendy), unique and budget friendly. At Clever Girl, you can find women's clothing, accessories (I saw the same enamel bangels featured in "O" Magazine here in some of the most tempting summer colors), items for the home ( the best smelling candles ever), and baby items. You will also find a great selection of greeting cards, other stationary items and exciting odds and ends here. The selection is always changing and it feels like a new store every time I have walked in. And when I leave with my purchases in hand, I always feel like a clever girl ;).

He added, kindly what the return policy is since he already knew that I wouldn't be able to try them on in the store, given I carried my half asleep daughter. In a condescending tone we were told that we can only return via store credit. Check out was cold and unpleasant. Amusing that the heavier set sales associate seemed so pleasant to the Caucasian appearing customer but not to us. I always felt that the Hinsdale community is rather diverse in respect to suburban communities but it was evident that some of the quiet parts are still very loud and obvious. However, the first time, several months ago i checked my receipt before leaving and was overcharged by $15. I also noticed that there was nobody in the whole store to help me. No one on the floor. Somebody was at the register and no one was around to let me in a dressing room which they keep locked. The staff behind the counter did not seem very knowledgeable with their products or questions I had. So then I returned today for a second time only to find the same problems. I had to walk up to the cashier and ask if someone can let me in the dressing room. She had to leave the register to let me in. Again, where are the people on the floor? Once I did find someone on the floor ... I asked about sizing, I explained to the sales woman that the smalls that I tried on were huge. She seemed to stare me up and down and said "well you know the style now is for things to be oversized". Excuse me? First of all I'm fully aware of that but I'm 5 foot tall and 115 pounds and there's a difference between oversized and falling off me. I had to repeat this to her 2 to 3 times and then I started to think why am I explaining myself to her? Why can't she just give me an answer or find my size? Then she gave me the wrong information. I was told an item could be ordered in an extra small then when I got to the counter, at checkout, the cashier said it could not be ordered but she had no idea why. I asked her well, can I order it? She said "I don't know". And then she told me again that she doesn't know the reason why she can't order it. She never offered to call a manager or to escalate the issue to find out. I went on the website as I was standing at the register to try to find the item and she was of absolutely no assistance to even help me find the item on the website. When I got my receipt, I didn't understand some charged items and I never got a separate receipt for the one item that she ordered to have shipped to me. Then she told me I should get an email. I never got the email. Then she told me to snapshot a screen of the order number. And then what? She had no information on how the shipping even worked. She had no clue. The worst part about it just like the first time in that store the employees didn't seem to care. My first and second time was not with the same staff member, but my experience was the same. So I asked for the manager. The manager was helpful but why should I have to ask for a manager? The manager couldn't figure out either why I did not get a receipt or a confirmation of my item that was ordered so she said she would call me tomorrow. She said she wanted to look into what the problem was. I found it all quite strange. It seems like the store staff is unmotivated don't care and are not properly trained. They're also not very friendly ( aside from the manager). So I really do like the items in the store, but in my experience, the customer service is severely lacking. It's too bad because it's a nice store, however seems poorly managed. Oh, and not to mention the part where an employee knocked on my dressing room door, wondering when I'm going to come out as another person had to use the dressing room. I understand that there's only two dressing rooms, but I brought a ton of stuff in with me because of the great trouble it takes to go back-and-forth and finding someone to open it.
