There are so many coffee shops, so in my opinion ambiance and service really set apart the gems from the skips. Unfortunately, because the decaf options were totally limited to store-bought tea (one of a few things the barista was very curt and unfriendly about) and the vibe was generally not welcoming or cozy, I wouldn't recommend this one. It was quite cold inside, which was disappointing as I was really paying for a warm place to work on a frigid day. The music was pretty loud and aggressively bad, and I say that as someone who is open to many different kinds of music, it was literally distracting me from my work and I couldn't play my own headphones loud enough to drown it out. The decor was pretty run of the mill, but the patio does look cute for warmer weather. I am a sucker for a cute cafe with a mom and pop vibe, or even a more corporate but well-designed coffee shop with a creative menu. This place wasn't what I was looking for sadly.

Sweetbee is super cute with a lovely outdoor back patio. I came here with a large running group and they were very accommodating of us and all of our orders. The staff member taking our orders was so nice especially given the large crowd. Delicious coffee and pastries!

Whatever the season, whatever the reason, Sweetbee has a caffeinated treat to make your day better. From hot honey cinnamon lattes to warm you up during the freezing winters, to iced chai lattes to cool you down on a hot summer day, they have every thing to satisfy your beverage cravings! I'm a local in the neighborhood and take so much comfort in the fact that sweetbee is close by. My favorite is the miel (honey cinnamon), but they also have seasonal signatures. I'm personally not a fan of the Sweetbee latte (lavender honey), as it tastes a bit soapy to me. They have a lovely interior but an even nicer backyard section! Go stop by sweetbee the next time you are in clinton hill! One thing to note, in the past, sometimes the service has a bit cold and unfriendly. But its been getting better in the last few months!

I stopped in on a weekday morning to grab an iced mocha latte (with soy milk). It's a cute little cafe with seating towards the back. There was one barista behind the counter but he was very fast making drinks and very nice. He helped explain the seasonal menu and made recommendations. The prices are reasonable and my drink was tasty. I'll be back!

Ambiance : 5 stars Service : 5 stars Food : I didn't purchase food but I did get a tea and it was delicious and was re filled and still potent with flavor. Maybe I'll try some of the other food options next time- not sure what they have but I'll check. Customer service was really good. The ladies I met gave me a warm welcome. I forgot there names but I will come back and edit when I visit and add them to this review. Overall this is a nice upscale cafe , hidden gem which I pray it stays that way. But it's really nice and quiet and has a nice artsy cozy vibe. Lots of outlets near seating area to work from and or sit and just decompress and get away from the noise or just sit and enjoy your own solitude. They have a back yard space for seating and a small seating area in the back which I like. I'll be back here and will continue to as I love the dynamic.

Peach tea is delish! Strolling down Fulton and it's a cute spot. Service is nice. Not too much in your face but just enough kindness and a cute hello.

Love the friendly vibe and cool music. Nice location right across Chelsea Piers. I got the chai tea latte with oatmilk. Highly recommend!

The Sweetbee latte - a perfectly balanced blend of honey & lavender

Recently visited on two different occasions and both experiences had exceeded my expectations. The cafe itself is so beautifully designed and very welcoming upon walking in. The price points are extremely fair given the quality of their drinks and the skill level of their baristas. I had the pleasure of enjoying their signature Sweetbee latte (pictured), which is a perfectly balanced blend of honey & lavender that was unexpected yet so dreamy. The temperature was also just right, as I was able to indulge in this lovely drink right away without it getting cold by my last sip. Was also lucky enough to be able to snag one of their last candles that they light in the cafe, the scent is intoxicating without being overpowering. Highly recommend grabbing one if they're in stock as I was told they tend to sell out quick! Very much looking forward to my next visit and my next latte

Unfortunately this place fell very flat. Leading with what we liked: Their mocktail offerings were good, promising a 0.0% ABV which is hard to come across when mocktails are offered. They serve oysters, which adds to that aphrodisiac experience of the oh so 'wow this is a former brothel!'. The bartenders and servers were fast and very sociable with the more sociable customers. The immediate entrance is very tight, and it was uncomfortable navigating the space. We expected there'd be more seating in the back, which there was, but it was limited and not offered to us until we asked for it. We honestly had no clue where it would be and only asked because of how this place was advertised. While it was comfy once we made our way back there, it was reminiscent of a lounge style bar space that almost any bar could replicate with the right room and budget. We didn't feel as though this hit the spot and were let down by this experience. I'm not sure if I can judge the menu of drinks/ foods as expensive, but we left hungry bc we couldn't justify some of the prices. In addition, I've seen a lot of complaints about the volume of the music: it's definitely loud at the front but a lot lower in that back lounge space. It's as loud as any bar's music level would be, but truth be told we were expecting music that matched the vibe of what was advertised and yes, at a lower volume.

All the drinks keep with the tropical, fruity taste with a hint of spice. They are also broken up into categories (dry land = no alcohol, shallows = average amount of alcohol, and abyss (larger amounts of alcohol). The abyss section has some cocktails that are limited to two per customer. They have some bar bites like fried green tomatoes, shrimp toast, broiled oysters, ricotta, dumplings, sliders. I had the French fries with kimchi ranch, which were underwhelming. Bartenders were cool and kept the drinks coming. I've been to this cocktail bar regrettably only twice even though I live (or rather lived upcoming…read moresoon) around the corner. It's classy but not too fancy and has enough space but doesn't get too loud. They have a nice happy hour menu from Tuesday-Friday from 5 to 7 as well as all day on Sundays which has very decent prices such as an $8 old fashioned among other things (see the photo.) the bartenders I've had before have been friendly with some good recommendations. Outside of their wide selection of cocktails which run the gamut of liquors, they have a nice wine selection, a handful of craft beers, and a very small food selection. The first time I was here, I had one drink which was the excellent Star of The Ice Snow for $17 with Iwai 45 whiskey, brie-washed Carpano Antica, Fernet Branca, barrel-aged orange bitters, and sassafras bitters. It had a a bit of bitterness, some sweetness, some spice, and some light mint from the fernet and was a pleasant complex drink and was certainly worth it from the price. The second time I was here was just this evening where I had two drinks. I first went with something that I was thinking of getting the first time which is their outstanding Vivian Darkbloom for $15 with Union mezcal, lime, pineapple, charcoal, Velvet Falernum, and lime bitters. The drink has mild citrusy sweetness as well a bit of smoke from the mezcal and is probably my favorite drink I've had here though the other drink I had the first time gives it stiff competition. I asked the bartender what he recommends and after a small discussion, he said either The Bell Witch (which is a gin and chartreuse cocktail with a strong herbal flavor) or what I went with. Said drink was the Under a Cosmic Cloak for $16 with rhubarb infused rum, Trois Rivieres rum, Smith & Cross rum, yerba mate, lime, grapefruit, and whey. The bartender said that it wouldn't be overly sweet as the rum was milk washed and this was indeed the case with just a mild sweetness and some fruitiness. There was a light herbal flavor otherwise presumably from the mate as well as a light citrus note and overall, it was good though definitely the least complex of the drinks I've tried and probably my least favorite but was definitely not a bad drink. The drinks here are reasonably priced for the quality, the bartenders are friendly, and it is classy but not overbearingly so. I can see why it's popular and I wish I stopped in more.
