We've been here a few times with friends and just the 2 of us and it's always been solid This is smaller than their taproom in Williamsburg, but still has a nice neighborhood vibe. It can get pretty crowded during the summer and weekends, but on off hours, it's great. This is such a cute and aesthetic brewery that is women-owned. They offer easy to drink beers with most of them being sours and light beers. I wanted to get the flight to sample, but didn't like that they're pre-selected and you cannot substitute unfortunately. Instead, I ended up ordering a strawberry beer and the fiance had a seasonal stout. While the drinks came in cute glass cups, they're smaller than your typical pints. We both thought our beers were just OK while also being very pricey. The thing I like is how colorful and pretty the space is. It's perfect for a girls night moreso. Also, they have a mezzanine which is more quaint and chill when it's very busy on the ground floor. An overall really great experience and fun because they had trivia the night we went! Almost everyone in the restaurant participated that made it a truly great time. The service was amazing, as was the food. More pickles please :) Very accommodating... they let us add pepperoni to an existing pizza which they don't usually do and made a spicy pickle martini which is not on the menu. I love this spot and the story behind it (NY's first woman-owned brewery!). I will say it kind of smells like chlorine inside, but the decor is fabulous. Service is friendly and knowledgeable! They have plenty of beverages to satisfy both beer and non-beer drinkers (including slushes in the summer), and they serve packs of their brews and merch towards the front. I went to a party here in the upstairs room, and I really enjoyed the charcuterie spreads and cocktail selection they offered. I've heard a lot about Talea recently, and after spending an afternoon at the Cobble Hill location, I'm definitely a fan!! I opted for the sour beer flight and all four of the sours I tried had really unique flavor profiles, although the banana split tart was my favorite. We also ordered the Bavarian Pretzel, which arrived hot right out of the oven and exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly, and I thought the colorful accents throughout the brewery were so fun. I love supporting local breweries, especially when they're female owned (!!!) Super adorable place! We came here to chill before hitting dinner. I tried the Tropicberry Tart Deco because I love passionfruit. It was such a refreshing drink, but definitely hit a little hard because we came here before dinner. I love the bar area in back of the room, but this place definitely has many tables for people to come in and hang out in! I saw many people order the giant pretzel and it looked incredibly tempting, but my friend and I avoided it because we knew we were going to grab dinner. I loved this place and the vibes. The guy helping us out was super friendly and checked up on us to make sure we were doing fine. We also came here midday during a weekday so it wasn't as crowded or busy at all which was awesome. I've been long aware of Talea, and the fact that it's a woman - owned venture. I've also been walking by this bar for a long time now, waiting for the perfect opportunity to venture inside. That opportunity came by way of a sourdough pizza pop up event (happens weekly, right outside the bar on Wednesday, FWIW). Bf and I put in an order for their spicy marg pie, and then ordered a couple brews at the two spots at the bar. Wednesdays also appear to be Trivia night, which drew quite a crowd. So i suggest you arrive on the earlier side, or later side, at least for pizza night. I enjoyed my blackberry tinged beer. The pizza was excellent - spicy, tomatoey, with a nice chewy and blistered crust. The combination of pizza and beer was delightful. Definitely looking forward to a return visit here. read more

I was absolutely heartbroken when 61 Local closed, but am ecstatic Talea took over this spot! They completely redid the space. What has remained the same is that there are still large communal tables to hangout and cowork at. It's much brighter than before, and love the skylight from the roof. I love how Talea still kept the communal aspect of the place, and even serve coffee during the days. The Talea location in Williamsburg can be completely crowded at times, and getting a table is impossible without reservations. This one here in Cobble Hill seems much more accessible to walk in and hangout at - never had trouble finding space here. From a beer perspective, I love some of their hazies and sour offerings. Appreciate that they also do flights where you can sample multiple beers. They have a limited food menu so you can nosh on snacks while you are drinking. It's always a stop for me when I'm arranging south Brooklyn brewery excursions. read more

Really cute brewery in cobble hill - they have outdoor seating and two levels of indoor seating. Interior is bright and spacious! Beer-wise they had some decent ones but there are other breweries I'd probably pick before coming here. They had a few snacks you could order but we didn't get any since we weren't particularly hungry. One thing to note is you cant build your own flight here. My favorite part of going to a brewery is building my own flight, so I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't do so here. read more

Cobble Hill residents should be *thrilled* to have this new addition to the neighborhood! TALEA is such a unique, approachable brewery, I'm struggling to think of a crowd who wouldn't enjoy grabbing a drink here. Their taps tend to focus on sours and lighter pours, though they do have some IPAs available. They also have some fun frozen drinks, and a beer popsicle. It's cool to see some creativity on the menu. And the space itself is great, with high ceilings and lots of seating. It feels very bright and modern, so don't expect a dimly-lit dive or a tavern-style brewery. New favorite brewery! Women-owned business with so many creative pours. They have lots of sours, which I love. On a Sunday early afternoon it was empty and we had the whole place to ourself- enjoyed outdoor dining in the pleasant weather. On a weekday night, however, it was popping and seats were limited! I believe it was trivia night, which I'd love to come back for. They also have pop up food events for local businesses. The space is huge and very cute. Great new brewery in the area. Came to the area for dinner and decided to stop by to try out some beers. We've previously bought cans at a supermarket before and I recognized the cans and name. We had the sour and fruity flight and added a 5th for $4 of the Haba Haba Splash. Out of the 5 we got, below is the ranking of favorite to least: 1. Raspberry Mango Crush 2. Haba Haba splash 3. Cherry float sour 4. Weekender key lime lager 5. Tropicberry tart deco My partners favorites were the tropicberry tart deco and raspberry mango crush. So we got cans of these two to go as he drinks beer more than me. The bartender saw that we loved sours, so gave us a taste of the rum barrel aged pineapple splash. I was ok with this one but my partner doesn't normally like rum or whiskey barreled stuff so didn't like it. The inside are bright and cheery. It also definitely stands out. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes beer. There are also wine, cider, and the slushy looked really good as well considering the 90+ degree day today! read more

Been here a handful of times as I love sours. This is a Greenpoint based brewery and they have a nice rotating mix and are now partnering with the Bad Cholesterol (Neapolitan style sourdough pizzas) folks for those who want to eat something more substantial than bar snacks while drinking their tasty brews. The bartender is nice and they have ample space and they even open early to allow people in the surrounding area to go here and hangout during early hours which is fun (unsure if they have anything in the morning though outside of basic coffee/tea/kombucha.) The atmosphere/vibe was so warm and fun, the drinks were amazing (three specialty cocktails were included in our package), and all of our guests had an incredible time. My first exposure to Talea beer was at a restaurant called Barbuto when I devoured the sour beer. Ever since, I've been meaning to come support this women's owned brewery! My plan to go to the Williamsburg location was thwarted by snow and by the convenience of finding Talea Pilsner at my local Trader Joe's. The pilsner was refreshing but it comes in a huge can so it's hard for me to finish at one time. The third time's the charm when I found myself at the Cobble hill location! There was a book fair happening the night we came so it was very crowded. The interior has a very modern vibe with mostly small and large tables. We left due to how busy it was but when we came back a few hours later, we were able to sit by the bar. I got the sour flight. The flavors were similar and distinct at the same time. I think I prefer the Pilsner to the sours. I will be checking out the Williamsburg location hopefully soon! read more

Omg. This brewery is SO cool. The colors, the vibes, the fun... It really is beautiful and on par with my ideal aesthetic. I enjoyed a fruity flight of beers, and I really enjoyed the variety and tastes. It was also cool that the flight was a pre-selected item on the menu; I didn't have to make any choices. I also loved trying a pretzel and beer cheese during their Octoberfest. I am not sure if that's a regular menu item or not, but it should be, as it was a great with my beer. I had a glass of Sun Up and a flight of Hazy & Hoppy. A bit bummed that they wouldn't let you pick the 4 beer flavors you wanted to try and instead, had to pick from a limited pre-selected flavors as shown on the menu. I love the Williamsburg location, so I was so excited when I heard another location closer to me at the time was opening. The space definitely welcomes a WFH setup. We worked there mid-June their opening week and enjoyed folks walking by stopping out of curiosity to check out the space. There is additional space to sit in the back, an upper level that I didn't check out, but I hope to in the future. Of course, the beers were fantastic. So beyond excited to see TALEA join the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood. The space is absolutely gorgeous inside and has some outdoor seating too to enjoy the nice summer weather. It's first come first serve and quite busy so make sure to come early! There are 3 preset flights you can choose from - I got the Sour & Fruity flight and it was so delicious. My absolute favorite was the Tropicberry Tart Deco. Every beer has a fun and unique profile and I love that even the IPAs weren't too hoppy for my tastes. Also love that the brewery is female-owned! The charcuterie was also great - loved the variety of offerings and it was very hearty. There are a few other snack offerings on the menu but nothing too substantial yet so if you're hungry, you won't find a real meal here. Menu also has a handful of cocktails and wines. I was really excited to see that Talea was opening a taproom on this side of town, so we stopped by for a drink before dinner in the area. The space is beautifully designed - fun and bright colors. There's a good amount of tables and bar seating inside and they also have some tables out front. You can either order straight at the bar or seat at a table and a server can take your order. I really enjoyed the Raspberry Mango Crush and my friend also liked his Beermosa cocktail. The Mediterranean plate was great to share. They also have a fridge with beer packs that you can take home. Came here on a rainy Sunday around noon and was immediately impressed by the bright colors and layout. I really enjoyed that the menu included multiple beer flights. I decided to try the Oktoberfest flight which included four 4oz pours for $22. The beers that were included were Hallo Helles, Prost Hefeweizen, Festie Marzen, and the Dunkl. Next time I defiantly want to try the sour flight. Some other highlights are they have small bites to order as well as non alcoholic drinks. They also sell merchandise and to go cans. This bar is women owned and you can tell :) it's a beautiful, large space with inside and outside seating. There's a lofted second floor for extra space as well. They have some snacks but I'm here for their sours! I love sours but I feel most bars are 90% ipas - Talea has something for everyone! Including wine and some slush cocktails. Hung out at TALEA on a rainy Saturday afternoon. An expensive brewery, which is not something I am used to saying, but a fun vibe and decent beer. Quality: TALEA feels too much like style over substance. The beer is fine, I tried a few different options Cascade Effect, Gum Drop, and Thin Mint Stout. Nothing revolutionary, but a good assortment of styles. I think I'd appreciate it the beers a bit more if I were more into sours. However, I felt a bit cheated with the small pour sizes. For food the Bavarian Pretzel was fine, but the Cheese & Charcuterie Board was outrageously priced for what came out. Quantity: Smaller than usual beer pours, and the Cheese & Charcuterie Board was embarrassing. Value: $9-$11 for Draft Beer Pours. $14 for the Bavarian Pretzel. $38 for the Cheese & Charcuterie Board. Ambiance: TALEA opened its second brewery location in Cobble Hill. It is a large space with an extended outdoor sidewalk area and a big inside space. The indoor has multiple long tables that extend back to a horseshoe shaped bar, then an private event space upstairs. The ceilings are very tall and they accented the exposed brick with some bright yellow curtains and greenery. Music was playing in the background, but it was too loud inside to hear. Crowd: Extremely busy on Saturday evening. Lots of families with children and large groups. Service: Chaotic set-up. Considering how busy it gets on the weekend a singular line area at the bar would be much better than the mob that forms everywhere. Parking: Limited street parking in the area. read more
