They have been harassing me ever since through mail trying to get a cancellation fee from me! They have sent me 4-5 letters and I even went out of my way to email them explaining that I gave plenty of notice and they never even explained any cancellation policy to me. They never responded! They are incredibly nervous about the dentist & have always dreaded going. She had a filling today & had ZERO complaints. She felt listened to & acknowledged when she said she didn't feel completely numb. Dr Tabb stopped, numbed some more, & patiently waited for the meds to take effect. The fact that the filling happened at all was a big step & that she walked away feeling positive is a miracle. I think the accepting attitudes of everyone there & the general vibe have made a huge difference in how my child views dental treatment now.

I have had two negative experiences here. The 1st: A few…read moremonths ago they replaced an aging filling I had in a molar. The replacement was extremely painful despite being "numb", and I had to raise my hand and have Dr.Von Bargen stop more than once. Why is it so hard to numb a patient? After that, for 3 weeks, I believe I had what is called "pulpitis" because my tooth was extremely sensitive and much worse than before. I could not eat or drink cold or hot foods/beverages for 3 weeks, on that side of my mouth. It is still fairly sensitive and it wasn't before they replaced the aging filling. The 2nd: Yesterday's experience took the cake for bad experiences at a dentist, or any healthcare providers office for that matter. I won't go into many details but they allowed a temporary worker to use a destructive and improper technique to remove a permanent crown that was only 9 months old. I came in to have it LOOKED AT. No one looked at it, x-rayed it or anything before dental technician or assistant removed it herself. My chart says per the technician: "was able to use fingers and removed crown". A complete falsification, and I have a witness who heard her say "time to get the big guns" when she left the room after *unsuccessfully* removing it with her fingers. She used giant pliers to remove the crown! I heard a crack when she did it! Yet my chart says otherwise... wow! After becoming very upset by someone falsifying my medical chart, I spoke to both Dr. Von Bargen and Dr. Peele who acted like I was overreacting. Dr. Peele specifically acted like I just didn't understand dentistry and therefore could not have any valid points. I was informed that it would be fine to "do nothing" and the recemented crown and decaying tooth would be fine. I was never informed there was any decay, even though they took a picture of the decay, they did not tell me. The truth is that I need the tooth removed and will need an implant. I realize this happens and root canals are not permanent fixes, but being lied to and treated like crap is unacceptable. Dr. Peele was condescending and gave off the impression that I was really inconveniencing her and wasting her time. Dr. Von Bargen contradicted herself several times trying to explain why she didn't tell me there was decay present before she recemented the crown to the stump of my tooth. It was a very upsetting conversation with people who are supposed to be the authority, yet they used their authority to mislead and gaslight me. I hope this serves to validate current or former patients who may have experienced something similar and perhaps warns potential patients looking for somewhere to go.

I was told that I needed 2 crowns and a filling. I underwent the initial crown on my tooth about 3 years ago and it did fine for a year, but then it started causing severe pain. I returned to the office for evaluation, but they could not figure out why it was hurting, and so I lived with the pain and not being able to chew on one side of my mouth for over a year. Finally, one day the crown just fell off. It was obviously loose which is why it was hurting for a year. In the interim, I had the second crown and the filling performed about 2 years ago. The second crown color did not match my teeth. I was surprised the the dentist who performed it, either did not catch it at the time, or just decided not to fix it at the time. When I looked in the mirror at the office and clearly noticed the poor matching of the color, the dentist said that to fix it, I could whiten the other teeth so it would match better. However, instead of offering to perform an in-office professional whiting to correct the mistake, she gave me an over the counter product, and then charged me an additional $60 for it. I was dismayed to be paying additional money to correct her mistake. Unfortunately, the filling that was performed at the same time, was sensitive from the day it was performed. I returned that very day to let her know that it did not feel right and was told the sensitivity should resolve with time. I even returned and a different dentist there who also tried to fix it, but the sensitivity never went away. I also had difficulty flossing at that tooth and so I continued to mention it at subsequent cleanings and visits over the course of a year. Dr. Ryan finally performed a revision filling, but it was worse and more sensitive afterwards. No one ever called or checked to see if the symptoms had improved, and by that point, I was not returning to that practice. I then went to another dentistry practice. They revised both the crown that fell off and the filling that was chronically sensitive. I am finally pain free without sensitivy for the first time in almost 2 years. I probably wouldn't have written this except that recently I was sent a bill from Kari Ryan Dentistry. The bill was texted to me of a general nature without specifying what it was for. I texted back that my recent visit for the filling was a revision and Dr. Ryan said that I would not be billed or charged for it. I continued to get the bill and so I called and told them the same. I expected it would be taken care of. However, I continued to get texts and bills without any specific information of what it was for, and now it was overdue. I called again and spoke with the manager and asked what it was for and why I kept getting it. She said that it was a bill from my initial crown that they performed 3 YEARS ago and that they had just forgotten to bill it at the time. This made no sense, but I paid it just to get rid of it. That was the final straw.
