I almost missed them because Google maps will lead you directly to their fence. But I was easily able to park along side the sidewalk. Their employees were very nice and helpful and their plants all looked very healthy. We bought a poblano pepper plant, rosemary, oregano, chive, cacti & succulent soil, a pot for my aloe plant, and organic fertilizer. Everything was very reasonably priced and they were having a 50% sale on their plants! I wanted to plant some eggplants, but I saw on their Facebook page that they sold out. They also sold out of their cucumber abd zucchini plants. I will defiantly be visiting them next year!

That said, they have a nice tropical plant selection, so if that's your thing, it might be worth the trip; but, overall, the place leans much more toward annuals than perennials, and the large tree options were pretty limited, mostly dwarfs, not much variety beyond that. Prices felt higher than what we usually see at other Suffolk County nurseries, though we didn't buy anything to compare directly. What really stood out was the lack of service. The parking lot was full, but it was hard to find anyone actually working or available to help. If you're after perennials, boxwoods, or larger Japanese maples, Forge River has had a much better selection in our experience.

We took on a big backyard renovation this summer using Gappsi in Smithtown. We went to the showroom…read morelast year and from the minute we went in and met Giuseppe, the owner, we recognized we would be in good hands. We were nervous and kept putting the job aside out of fear of something going wrong and knowing we would be spending a large amount of money. We felt at ease with his wealth of knowledge, and especially after visiting jobs completed by Gappsi, we knew we were in good hands. We also were impressed with his level of patience and how he answered every single question we had and never rushed us out of his showroom (he even met us on a Sunday when the showroom was closed). Our planning began with having to remove an existing disaster of an old pool surrounded by patios and fencing in an upper level of the yard; we would be faced with new grading issues and also trying to savage some trees we didn't want to lose. Giuseppe planned every detail meticulously and reassured us the job would be done perfectly. Finally this summer, a year later, we put in a new in-ground pool and surrounding patios. The backyard was designed and transformed into a beautiful setting, and we absolutely love it. It gives us a feeling of being away on vacation! The stone is absolutely beautiful that we picked at the show room, and the workmanship is perfection. The workers showed up every single day, weather permitting, and stayed very late. They all worked very hard. Giuseppe has a lot of patience and any question/problem that would arise would be discussed almost immediately and rectified. I highly recommend Giuseppe's expertise when it comes to masonry and design. We couldn't be any happier with our backyard. We used our pool more this summer than in the past 18 years! Everyone who comes over immediately comments how beautiful the yard looks. If we have any other work to be done, it would be hard to go with anyone else! If you are thinking of using Gappsi, you are making the best choice!

His visit was quite pleasant, so I felt lucky/confident that I'd get the work done without having to look all over Long Island for a reputable company. Alas never heard back. I left him a message, to which he responded via voice mail saying "I haven't forgotten about you", but again never heard back, even after I phoned him a third time. Called the office about two weeks ago (now August), left a voice mail, and a lady from the office phoned me and said she'll have him call. Still waiting. Time for me to move on.
