Danny from SDV Construction came over to give his estimate and had the great idea of paving around the pool instead of decking. After he explained how it would be done using concrete retainers. I thought this would definitely solve our tying in problem. We agreed on a timeline, a surprisingly affordable price and a three part payment. I was happy to see that this company was big enough to order all of the necessary materials prior to any payment. The next day a crew was in my yard and work was under way. The crew was very respectful of my yard and kept things neat as the worked progressed. Two weeks later, and the finished product speaks for itself. I am extremely happy with the way my yard turned out. Especially considering that bigger contractors were quoting me almost double what I paid SDV Construction. All that's left to do is the sand filler. Cons: Danny can definitely use a secretary as he is always jumping from job to job. I have posted pictures of the entire process. See for yourself.

We had an initial meeting with Designscapes, giving them a rough idea of what we wanted. Next week they had crafted a fantastic design plan for us with a budget, time estimate and estimated start date. They included some suggestions that we didn't even think about. They even gave us a list of suggested plantings for the flower beds. The project started when promised and finished within their time estimate. The price was exactly what was promised. There were no additional costs. The workers were here everyday and quite professional. The work is excellent and we have had no issues with the workmanship or materials used. All of our neighbors have commented on on how great the property now looks.

Unfortunately, Dan chose to use Cambridge stones and pavers for our job and the result was disappointing, to say the least, as hundreds and hundreds of white dots have appeared on the surface of these stones and have ruined what otherwise would have been a terrific job. Kudos to the Cambridge rep, Chuck who tried to remedy the problem with his own labor, but the majority of white dots remain....End result: definitely use Dan for your job; do not use Cambridge...or any other paving stone company that fails to alert you to the possibility of this occurrence.

From the beginning, he was very forceful in pushing us to sign the contract and pay upfront. Once the job started, he was almost never at the site, leaving workers unattended. He took it upon himself to do more demolition than expected, leaving our home torn apart and in an unlivable condition, then pushed for additional work and more money. He is a smooth talker and uses that to get out of situations where he doesn't want to tell the truth. What was said verbally did not match what actually happened. He did not provide a proper itemized list, and what was eventually given did not match the price outlined in the contract. His pricing and actions were inconsistent, and the work that was done was incomplete and handled irresponsibly. We ultimately had to terminate the contract because we did not feel comfortable continuing with him. Despite paying around $21,000 for only a few days of work, we were left with no choice but to move forward on our own and finish the kitchen with a different company. We were left with exposed walls, insulation, and unfinished work, while being asked to pay significant amounts that did not reflect the actual progress. We have filed with Consumer Affairs and are currently seeking counsel to recover the lost funds for the work not completed. Based on our independent findings, the entity we contracted with does not appear to have jurisdiction to perform construction work in Nassau County, and instead only holds a landscaping license under Nassau County. Please do yourself a favor and google "Stewart Raccuglia Georgia" and you will find everything you need. Throughout our experience with him; he would disappear for several weeks, we caught him in several lies, he was verbally abusive, and did extremely poor quality work. We had to get the police involved twice; and eventually had to get lawyers involved and a trespass affidavit. We incurred well over $20k in unforeseen and undisclosed costs with never signing a work change order which is required by the contract. The project was supposed to take 5 weeks and it took 7 months. Stewart didn't follow through with necessary inspections and permits as he said he would (and we paid him $1500 to do). He called me a narcissistic deadbeat who can't pay my bills and he insulted my husband's appearance (my husband suffers from MS). He gave our security code to a stranger without our authority. He unplugged our security cameras several times and didn't plug them back in when we asked him to. And at the end of it all, we have a brand new pool with leaks, drains that were improperly installed, and a liner that needs to be replaced (for $13k at our cost). Please avoid Stewart and his companies Legacy Brick and Stone and Legacy Custom Pools. This experience has been so stressful, upsetting, traumatizing, and expensive. When he sees this; I'm sure he will call me a liar and say this is slander. I will include pictures of everything I have stated, they are facts not lies. His lawyer has threatened me asking that I take this down but I am reposting because I do not respond to threats or intimidation and I want to save others from this horrific experience.
