Bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel.
Amy R.

Amazing!! I found this cute place on yelp with wonderful reviews so we decided to give it a try on our last day. Boy are we ever glad we did! You walk up to a couple of tables out front and that cute blue wave signage. Upon walking in you can see why everybody keeps talking about the art and yes, there is a small art gallery in the back. You walk up to the counter to very friendly employees and place your order. We ordered the everything bagel with bacon, egg, and American cheese. It was delicious. The bagel is soft on the inside and slightly toasted on the outside. I can't think of anything that would've made it better other than my husband prefers cheddar cheese. All of the employees are very friendly. There is no service other than they bring you your food. Will definitely go back. https://www.visitstaugustine.com/restaurant/sweetwater-coffee-bar-and-gallery-coffee-bar

Great white

We visited sweetwater on a Tuesday morning in search of a breakfast place where we could bring my dog. They were super friendly to her, and they even brought her some fresh bacon! There were some other fuzzy friends there who were happy to see her too. I ordered a great white, and it came out pretty fast. It was tasty, but I felt the mozzarella was cut a little too big. It made it unwieldy to eat, and I would've preferred it cut smaller. Otherwise, it was delicious! I'd definitely want to try their coffee next time if they have decaf available! I also loved looking at the art in here, there was a lot to see. This place is a great stop especially if you're looking for somewhere where you can take a dog.

Absolutely amazing bagels & sandwiches not to mention including the coffee. Staff is wonderful. Friendly & efficient. Brought my husband & he was amazed how good & plentiful was his bagel sandwich. It's a small cafe and fills up fast. But worth the wait.

Iced Matcha with honey and lavender

Amazing service!!! The baristas are so sweet and were even kinder when i came right back in after spilling my ENTIRE matcha when someone bumped into me outside. I just came back in ready to order another and asked for some napkins since i was painted in matcha green, and they let me use their sink and made me a new one free of charge:) very nice vibe inside and beautiful outside since it's across the street from the Lightner Museum!

Mike and the staff were absolute gems! They made our Sunday morning by offering warm smiles and impeccable service. I saw them offer the same to every customer who crossed their paths. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Sweet Water to ANYONE passing through St. Augustine! We will be back. Thank you!

Sweetwater is, by far, what I miss most about my time in St. Augustine! Mr. Keats is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet, and he once told me that he needed to "take care of his Flagler kids while they're away from home." Mrs. Keats and Hannah are both incredibly talented artists, and you'll be amazed by their artwork displayed in both the café and the art gallery in the back. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I highly recommend their cinnamon crunch bagel with honey-vanilla cream cheese, along with an iced butterbeer latte. I'm also a huge fan of their cinnamon crunch muffin, which pairs perfectly with that same honey-vanilla cream cheese. I promise you won't be disappointed!

KINDNESS & HOSPITALITY!! Their CREATIVITY and MENU variations makes the place a one of a kind artistic experience through GREAT COFFEE, FOOD, & ART! This cafe is the most compassionate and accommodating business in St. Augustine. Growing up in St. Augustine has led me to yearn for small town pleasantries. This place has got it!!

Just had the best experience here. Owner (I assume) and the employees were so kind to us! I quite literally think this is the best bagel I've ever had. They know what they are doing. The trick or treat latte was phenomenal as well! I will be back tomorrow!

Eggel bagels on jalapeño cheddar bagels, the Elvis, bacon and Bacon

Totally get why they have so many 5 star reviews! Sweetwater has been on my list for a while but we'd mostly been in the area in the evening and have missed their hours. In the search for a breakfast sammich past noon, we popped our heads in with our borrowed shelter pup, appropriately named Bacon (up for adoption at SAFE pet rescue across the bridge!) and asked if we could bring him in- upon learning his name, the man (manager/owner maybe?) said "well then he is getting some bacon!" And disappeared to the back, returning with some bacon especially for Bacon! The ladies working the counter were extremely friendly and happy to give Bacon some attention. We got two breakfast sandwiches (eggel bagels) and the Elvis. Everything was amazing and piled high with each ingredient. Prices were more than reasonable and the customer service was amazing. While we were eating, they got super busy about 10 minutes before they closed, but we noticed each and every customer got the same great level of service and were not rushed to leave. We will definitely be back next time in town!

The parking is shared with the Villa Zorayda Museum behind Sweetwater Coffee Bar and Gallery. There is an attendant that sits in a lawn chair within the lot that can give you a 1-hour parking paper to place on your dash while you're in the coffee shop. Overall, I felt like this coffee stop was nothing to write home about (the irony of that statement is not lost on me). It's not for the coffee lover that enjoys a true single-origin, whole bean espresso. This is for the typical person that is happy with coffee from an at-home coffee pot. I tried one of their bagel sandwiches (salmon). It was massive! I typically really enjoy bagel sandwiches, but found myself rather bored with the flavor profile. Although the individuals working at this establishment are very nice, I don't think I'd go back for the food. However, it's worth a stop for the artwork if you're in the area!

What is better than coffee and art? Not much!

Nothing but great things to say about this place! Great coffee , delicious food. The staff is super sweet and very welcoming-a trait missing from a lot of places these days. Love the vibe of the coffee bar and gallery--cute place to enjoy a coffee break or a meal and soak up some beautiful artwork by local artists. highly recommend!

This was my favorite coffee spot all week in St. Augustine. It's a cute shop that is connected with a vivid and bright art gallery. They do not have cold brew but have lots of other options. I ended up with an iced blackberry latte that was pretty good. All of the walls are covered in art and brought me so much joy! I even bought a print to take home with me. I appreciate this business creating a place for people to gather and casually experience art!

Eggel Bagel

Ate breakfast here today. We got coffees, the Eggel Bagel, and the Blueberry Crunch bagel with honey vanilla cream cheese. The Eggel Bagel was to die for, and the Blueberry Crunch bagel was smothered with cream cheese (so good). Already planning our trip back.

The menu is where things get especially interesting--unique, playful, and definitely not your standard fare. I tried the chicken apple pie sandwich, which was as unexpected as it sounds. It was fun, different, and surprisingly good! It is one of those dishes you won't find just anywhere. Husband loved his upscale bologna sandwich and the waffle fries were yummy! One would think there's not much you can do with a grilled cheese sandwich, but the Grilled Cheese Gallery proves that assumption wrong. There are 13 amazing and creative choices of grilled cheese here. Don't like grilled cheese? They also serve salads, poutine, mac & cheese grilled sandwiches, ice cream and other desserts. This is Comfort Food headquarters! There were actually so many choices it was hard to choose. I chose A Night in Amsterdam: Gouda, Gruyere, Swiss, Cheddar, on Artisan White. My wife had The Queen Brie: House cured bacon, French Brie, Raspberry Puree, Balsamic on Sourdough. My Amsterdam was quite a creation: three slices balanced on a pedestal with cheese trailing down more than a foot. It was delicious! My wife lauded her Queen Brie as well. We wish we had more time in Saint Augustine as this place is definitely worth a second visit.

We ordered: the Amsterdam, the Artist, the Queen Brie, and the Classic (2 sandwiches). Three of us upgraded to a small cup of tomato soup (each order comes with a mini cup for dipping). I was the lucky person who ordered the Amsterdam, which, much to our surprise and delight, was served on a hook with melted cheese stretching down to the tray it was served on. Everyone had to take a photo of my sandwich! It contained a variety of cheeses, so while the taste was fairly classic, it was a bit more nuanced than the Classic sandwich, which only had cheddar cheese. Everyone else thought their sandwiches were delicious too. And we all loved the homemade tomato soup! I tend to be a bigger fan of creamy tomato soups, but this one was rich with umami flavor and had a bit of a kick. While this is a counter-service restaurant that's pretty much no-frills, the employees were friendly and helpful. One of them refilled our water cups at the table, even though the pitcher she had was leaking, and I didn't get the sense that they normally did that. Sadly, they don't sell soft serve ice cream any more, but there are so many ice cream shops in this part of St. Augustine that you can easily walk somewhere else for dessert (which we did). The place wasn't crowded on a Friday evening and had lots of menu choices, so if you like grilled cheese sandwiches, whether creative or simple, be sure to stop by the Grilled Cheese Gallery on your visit to St. Augustine!

Again went inside, waited for the front desk server to process several orders before I could ask about the status of the drink. Nothing had been made, so another five minutes for the drink order. By this time I was plenty hungry, and was disappointed with the Cuban sandwich. It's basically a toasted ham sandwich, nothing particularly unique about it. Given the hassles just getting the meal entailed, not a great experience.
