I've been to St. Augustine so many times, and I can't believe I never noticed this place before! We wandered down a street we don't usually walk, and it led us to this wonderful little café. The atmosphere was peaceful, the interior was exactly my style, and I loved all the beautiful plants. The coffee was delicious, and everyone working there was so kind and welcoming. There were plenty of tables, and the café was spotless. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in St. Augustine. read more

The coffee spot is great! I only stopped in for a little bit to grab two lattes but they were both delicious and you could tell that they take pride in their flavors. I am not much of a coffee expert myself, but my wife has been in the business for years and said it was great. The ambiance is cute and minimal while the prices are very fair. Stopped in because I saw they did pour-overs. The barista (didn't get his name) was very knowledgeable and made an excellent cup (5 Stars). Came back today for another great experience, except a young lady who said she was learning made my cup. Very sour. Got thought about 1/4 cup and returned it for an "I'm sorry" (1Star). Fantastic find in our olde town! I rarely get dntn anymore, but now that I have found this charming spot with outdoor tables in both the front & back enabling me to sip perfectly brewed confections while enjoying the breezy sunshine -- I'll definitely be back. What we drew us in about Relampago was both the distinct "coffee-shop" scent, atmosphere, and vibe upon walking through the doors. Pictured is an 8-hour drip process which they do to concentrate some of their coffees, both was cool because if added to the authenticity of the shop, and the care which they take in making their coffees! We stop in here every time we're in St. Augustine and love it. We were there Saturday night and I just wanted to mention the guy that was there for closing was awesome. Located by the George St. shops this little coffee shop was a pleasant start to my day. This place is soooo cute! Placed in an old house the feel is very cottage core alchemy vibes. There is only two two top tables inside but there is seating on both the front and back porch. I got a Cappuccino, a spinach and mozzarella strata, and a spinach turn over. The cappuccino was good, pretty standard but I loved the latte art and the fact that it came in a porcelain cup. (I'm weird like that I just like real cups) The spinach mozzarella strata was my favorite it's a baked egg dish with just enough spinach and LOTS of cheese. The spinach feta turnover was ok; pretty Flakey but I wish there was a little more filling. On a Thursday morning there was only one person behind the counter. She worked quickly but it was a little bit of a wait between customers. She was kind and too the point. I really enjoyed this little spot and can't wait to come back to read a book with my morning coffee. read more

Seriously delicious coffee! We were possibly the only people walking around St Augustine this morning & came across this gem. Thankful so many local coffee shops were still closed at 9am on a Friday because it helped us wander into Relampago. It's in an old house on the edge of the historic district. Very clean. Gal who helped us was super pleasant/great customer service. My other 1/2 spent much of Covid trying to perfect coffee- finding the best beans, best brewing method, etc & got pretty good results. Ordered a latte here & it was insanely good. Better than anything we brewed in r quest 4 great coffee. Possibly the best latte he's ever had, and we've even done a coffee tour around Columbia. Kudos to Relampago for such a high quality product. Highly recommend stopping by for a latte when ur in town. Side note- they also have a few small food items including a gluten-free banana nut muffin, which we didn't try. read more

This place might be okay if they could make an order correctly. I ordered a 12 oz latte with an extra shot... and they charged me and gave me a 16oz... and then, messed up my wife's drink as well. We were in search of a cool local coffee shop and found Relampago. The shop itself was classic St. Augustine on the outside and super trendy and artistic on the inside. It wasn't busy at all when we came in, so we got to look around at everything. The coffee bar was gorgeous and they had a back deck to sit and sip on outside. I got a hot lavender latte and a guava cream cheese turnover. The coffee was fantastic! The lavender flavor was perfect; not too sweet and not artificial tasting. The coffee was top tier. You could tell just from the smell when you walked in. We enjoyed it so much! The only thing that kind of bothered me was that the barista would stop taking orders to work on each order as he got it. So I had to stand and wait to order while he made the order before mine. I feel like it would be better if he just took all the orders and then knocked them out in a row. But that's just my opinion.
