While I had a positive experience with Dominique and Her company a few months ago, lately the company has very unresponsive and it takes repeated emails and calls to get an answer. I have had appointments that were cancelled at the last minute due to extenuating circumstances - which I understand that were then rescheduled and cancelled without any notice. The cleaners just didn't show up and I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone. While I understand emergencies arise, a basic out of office auto reply or voicemail could help. Unfortunately this is the last time I will ever use or refer anyone to swept away and I warn others to stay away. read more

After years of service, we are calling it quits. The cleaning service was okay, but the owner Dominique is incredibly unresponsive, cancelling at the last minute or showing up late without any advanced notice on multiple occasions...and Dominique is never short on excuses: 1) Staff shortages 2) I didn't receive your email 3) I didn't receive your call or voicemail 4) (Multiple) car accidents 5) Hospitalization 6) etc. and so on... The company voicemail box is continuously full, takes days to respond (if ever). Messages left on cell seem to go into a black hole. Same goes for email. Absolutely stay away from this service. The cleaning job was fine but they left two stains on our carpet. I reached out to them immediately that same evening when I got home and noticed the stain. I got a response from one of the managers, Dominique apologizing and saying that they would come out the very next day, today, around 6pm. It is now 7:20pm and they have yet to show up. Dominique has since sent me a few nastigrams saying that 6 was just an estimate and that the cleaning people are denying that they left stains. Very professional, eh? So here we sit having rushed home by 6pm and canceling our dinner plans in hope that they may just still show up to fix the stains that they left behind. To be honest I don't see how they will fix it as I'm pretty sure it's bleach. Stay tuned... Ok, they did show up at 7:40 and were very apologetic. They also conceded that it seemed like bleach and after spraying and rubbing it for awhile agreed that they'd have to get their insurance company involved. I'm supposed to hear from them tomorrow... Was referred to Swept Away by a current customer. I used Swept Away's online web form to initially request regular house cleaning service. I later followed up with calls. My web inquiry was not returned and Swept Away's phone number went to voicemail where the greeting indicated that the mailbox was full. It is unfortunate as my friend who is a current client of Swept Away is satisfied with their work and recommended them eagerly. read more

This company needs to stop overachieving in the service department because it's making me self-conscious of my own work ethic. With that said - here's my update: In efforts to keep my new apartment looking like the day we moved in, I had Swept Away come and tidy it up. When my boyfriend and I got home, we couldn't believe it. Spotless. I had a birthday get together a few days later and a friend commented that I must have a cleaner (not sure if that's a compliment or not, but hey...I'll take it). So, that's three for three (2 move out cleanings and a regular service) - I'm sold on these guys and you should be too. read more

Three women showed up at my apartment promptly at 8 and 45 minutes (the deal was for 45 minutes - i have a small 1 bedroom) later my apartment is cleaner than it has been since I moved in. We booked them for a Monday afternoon while we were on vacation. I had made arrangements for someone to meet them at our home. An hour before they were supposed to be there I was contacted and told the crews car had broken down. They asked if I wanted to reschedule but we couldn't because our house was going on the market and pictures were going to be taken the next day. After this one text there was no return texts. I called several times and no return call or pick ups. Very disappointed to say the least. I had to have family go over and do a minimal amount just to take the pictures. cleaning service that I bought through Groupon - 3 hours for $135 plus tax As the 2 start rating shows - Meh. I've experienced better and this is why: 1) It was really hard to get an appointment and you need to make it online. When I called, they made me go back online and schedule it. I don't think this is very professional - you should be able to schedule an appointment over the phone 2) They were 1.75 hours late. They were supposed to be at my place at 11. They called at 11 saying that they would be late and should come around 12. They didn't get here until 12:45 3) I guess it was supposed to be 2 cleaners for 3 hours, so they brought 3 people and said they would work for 2 hrs 15mins since they had an extra person. They ended up leaving after like 1 hour and 50 mins..... 4) They didn't take out the trash - which I thought was a pretty typical activity for a professional house cleaning. We have a large town home and LOTS of wooden floors, so it was tricky getting to all the floors, but I don't think they really scrubbed them down like it could have been done. It was definitely more of a surface cleaning than a deep clean! As a house, we want to start doing a monthly cleaning service, and we probably will not use this company. A good thing: the women doing the cleaning were very kind and out of the way while doing the cleaning. read more

I love this cleaning service. Best I've used in the area, hands down, including some of the national chains in the area. Our home always feels organized and fresh after they've come by, and you can't trade a clean house after coming home from work for anything!!! I once came home and cried I was so happy (full disclosure: I was very pregnant, but my house did look amazing.) Dominique is great to work with, super responsive, and very flexible. She's accommodating and has shifted us around before to get those cleanings in before holidays and weekends when we've had visitors (like in-laws!), and do an awesome job every time. read more

They came on short notice and were only 45min late, could be worse. The inside of the house got clean but they did accidentally leave some cleaning supplies behind that they wanted to come back for. The main negative is that they swept a bunch of lint and trash out of the home onto the deck and left it there! One would think that swept up dirt lint and trash would be bagged as garbage and thrown away. I didn't love having to go clean that up myself. read more

Two ladies came to my old condo on last Tuesday. Unfortunately, I only got one of their names, and I forgot it. :( Anywho, they were on time and did an excellent job! I had to leave before they were done, but when they I came back later, I saw they did an IMPECCABLE job! There was a special going on, so that was helpful, too. I used their services once - pretty expensive and they ended up spilling my Scentsy warmer all over and causing damage to my walls, outlet, and bookshelf because of the wax that was spilled. I sent pictures and asked if they had recommendations of how to clean it up (also hoping they would come and take care of the mistake) but they never responded. read more

Beware! These folks are not careful with your things. House looked OK when they were done, but they left too much damage for me to think of reccomending them. The two ladies who came left scratch marks ALL OVER my stovetop (which was relatively new and not often used) and scuffs all over one of my toilet seats. Initially I contacted the owner who was very nice. AFTER she came and saw the damage, she told us she would take care of fixing these things. Well, I didn't hear back until after repeated follow-up emails. She then said it was just normal wear and tear and that there was nothing she could do. On another note, I had to take my toddler son outside (the chemicals they used were too strong for me and certainly too strong for him.) When I came back, one of the ladies was using the cloth seat of one of my Pottery Barn kitchen chairs as a stool. I really didn't appreciate her wearing her shoes and standing on that. It made me wonder what else they did would do. . . read more

I found Swept Away via Yelp, and contacted the owner, Dominique, to get an estimate and discuss my needs and expectations. I found Dominique to be responsive, professional, and most of all, customer service-oriented. And her estimate for cleaning was the most cost effective of the other reputable companies I had researched. I have been with Swept Away for a few months now, and I continue to be satisfied with Dominique's attention to detail (she has stopped by after the cleaning more than once to quality check the work), as well as the cleaning her staff provides. Got my rental unit cleaned by them for a move-out cleaning last minute and they squeezed us in with their fully booked schedule. They came at 7am as promised and did an excellent job. I saw the place after they were done and everything was clean. I was worried that they may not do as good of a job since no one was there to monitor, but that was totally not the case. Two unsuccessful appointments. The first time they had to cancel, they said they sent an email, but there was no email in my mailbox or spam folder. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they got my email wrong. Tried a second appointment Again, didnt work out. This time, they claimed the front desk of my apt building would not give them the keys, despite me making sure the front desk has them on the register just a few minutes before the appointment time. The front desk keeps notes of all visitors and the reception said nobody showed up. Yet, they insisted they went to the right address. Throughout it all, phone calls go unanswered and the mailbox was even full at one point, so you can't even leave a voicemail. Communication is just awful. read more

What an horrible experience I had on the phone just intending to coordinate an appointment. Rest assure will never use their service based just on the initial phone call. I purchase a deal with living social and called 10 days prior to its expiration. They only had a machine answering phones and did not returned any of my numerous calls. When I finally got a person on the phone they said they could not honor my my voucher because they did not had the capacity to fulfill the number of purchase deals, and the only way to use my voucher with their service was as a partial credit in their full price (expensive) estimate. The person was extremely rude on the phone and ended up hanging the phone on me without resolution, never I have been talk down in such a way from someone I was intending to use their business. I used Swept Away to clean our house before we moved in. It was an ok experience, but I would not recommend them to a friend. There are several good things but also some bad things about this cleaning company. The good is that the manager is very nice on the phone, calls you back promptly, and it was easy to schedule. The two cleaning women arrived early and got right to work. They cleaned the ceiling fan with a ladder I left which fixed a squeaking problem. Trash was taken out. The fridge looked spotless. The main bath was perfect. They remembered to shut off the air conditioning when they were done (I asked them to) At first glance, it seemed like they did a great job, but as we were moving in a realized how much they had skimped on... the details were not taken care of. First, I realized one cabinet hadn't been cleaned on the inside, but one cabinet didn't seem like a big deal. Then, more issues came up. The microwave door wasn't wiped down, a bathroom door wasn't wiped down. We have old fashioned radiators and they did not even wipe the dust off the surface or vaccum around them (I actually found a dog toy from the previous resident under one). Then I found a couple window sills that were not cleaned. Also the light switches were not wiped down. I know these seem a little minor, but when you ask for a move in cleaning, those are some the the deep cleaning aspects I had expected and did not want to have to deal with while unpacking. read more

After over 50 people in and out, eating and drinking, and drinking some more - and about 20 spending the night - the house really needed some help. The only reason I did not give them five stars is because a few things were slightly out of place and I had to do some rearranging after they left. I used Dominque's company for approx 2 years (2018 forward has been horrendous​) on and off. I liked her story of a young lady who established a cleaning company as a college project. Unfortunately,​ within the last year, the service deteriorated. When she went left the country to marry- there was no notice and service everyone simply disappeared for 2 months, their version of making a bed became just tossing sheets and blankets on the bed, when she was out sick no service they disappeared and a month later it was shared that she was hospitalized, they would come on days and random weeks and no service when they were actually scheduled, they began sending random cleaners to my home, expensive glasses and dishes were broken often, and other issues. When I called and forwarded emails- the vm was always full, which alerted me that no one was getting a response, especially my issues. I repeatedly asked whether she was interested in improving her customer service, hire someone if needed to address clients- no response. When I shared that either they address my concerns, or I'd take the matter to Yelp, she sent a longer letter (finally responding), to share that they would no longer service my needs because they could not guarantee anyone good service on each visit. I hung in there waiting for them to adjust their service, but it continued to deteriorate. read more

I purchased a voucher through LivingSocial. Could not get an appointment during the timeframe I preferred, at the beginning of the week, so rearranged my schedule to accommodate a Thursday 7:00 a.m. appointment. Two cleaners arrived at approximately 7:15. I spoke with them prior to anything being done and felt that I had been understood. I explained that I knew the house was a mess and that I had specific priorities, as time allowed: 1) Deep cleaning of 2 bathrooms and the kitchen; 2) overall cleaning of basement rec room; 3) cleaning of woodwork in the common areas. Furthermore, I specifically said that nothing needed to be done in the living room, my office, the 3 bedrooms, the laundry room, or the furnace room. I also said that they didn't need to bother with the vacuum, as I had carpet cleaning scheduled. Apparently, Dominique showed up at some point and entered my home. I was here the entire time, staying out of the way in the bedroom keeping my 14-year-old blind dog calm. The other 2 dogs were safely outside in the back yard. She did not bother to let me know she was on the premises. What she did do was tell the cleaning crew NOT to clean the downstairs bathroom, which was an area I specifically asked be done. This bathroom was left a complete mess. Out of the entire house, I only expected 3 rooms to be taken care of, possibly 4. The following are basic cleaning services that were not performed: 1) The toilet bowls were not scrubbed. 2) The base of the toilet was not completely cleaned. 3) Toothpaste splatter was left on the faucet of the upstairs bathroom. 4) No dusting was done in the upstairs bathroom. 5) The kitchen floor was not completely swept. 6) The kitchen floor was not mopped. 7) The range hood was not cleaned. 8) The top of the refrigerator was not cleaned. 9) Fingerprints were not cleaned from the handles of the refrigerator. 10) Nothing whatsoever was done in the rec room downstairs. 11) As above, the cleaners were instructed not to clean the downstairs bathroom. 12) None of the woodwork was cleaned. I have photo documentation of all of the items mentioned above. A complete waste of my time and my $65 for the voucher. The two cleaners were here for 2 hours. They didn't do what I wanted them to, and also spent their time doing things I specifically indicated were not necessary, such as vacuuming. Yes, my house was dirty--that's why I paid for a cleaning service. I did not expect them to do the entire house, just two small bathrooms and a small kitchen, possibly the rec room, possibly some woodwork if time allowed. They might as well not have even been here. This is a service that does not respect the wishes of the client and would rather show up at an already clean home to do a little light work and be done. read more

I bought the Groupon special for $65 earlier this year. In early September, I went to set up an appointment and could not get one booked until today (11/21). That in itself was frustrating - it shouldn't take over two months to get an appointment. If that is the case, perhaps the company does not have the staffing/resources to offer the discount through Groupon. Fast forward to today, the day of my scheduled appointment (I even received an email reminder over the weekend). My appointment was for 12:30, and they have yet to show up or even call. I have left messages and sent emails, but no response. They are two hours and 10 minutes late as I type this review. I left work during my lunch hour to be home to meet the crew and let them in, and now I've lost two hours of a work day with nothing to show for it. I am extremely disappointed. They have both my cell phone and email, so there is no excuse for not contacting me to let me know they would be late (or canceled for that matter). read more

When we got back after Swept Away did a move-out cleaning for us, we thought they did a great job, but then our landlady's nephew told us that he had redone the whole thing after they left! He showed us the pictures. There were stains still on the kitchen counter, in the toilet, and on the shower floor. There was dust on the blinds and the vents. We emailed the company the next day with the pictures and still haven't heard back. I hope to be able to update this post soon.
