Not Happy: Due to the Fed admin making mistakes in the middle east (spring 2026) Oil prices Jumped months ago. Therefore I called and turned off my contract with Swezeys May 2026 , because it was uncertain what the prices would do. Today (late Aug 2026) I come home and they were pumping oil into my tank (!!!!!). I tried to stop them. "To Late" the man tells me. He leaves the bill for hundreds of dollars. I bill I did not anticipate, and did not set aside money to pay. I call and get someone on the phone,,,,,after explaining..they try to sell me a "plan"...UGH. I ask for a manager. I explain everything again. I get another person who wants to sell me a plan. No attempt at fixing their mistake. Their logic: I must pay for it. So here are my choices: pay market price TODAY at 5.49/gallon....and break what they consider to be a contract that is in effect (which they can charge hundreds of dollars for leaving the contract)...or renew at 4.99/gallon. Reminder I called in May and terminated this contract! Funny, they have a record of the call..but not my request to terminate. So, in their view..the CONTRACT IS STILL IN EFFECT. Does this feel like COERCION to you??? It does to me. They force me into a decision either way. I would rather go with another company but they already pumped hundreds of gallons into my tank..and offer no way to pull it out. I am deeply dissapointed in Swezey. I'd like to know who is running things but the only people i get in person are salespeople...so I think WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS: They are like every big company...screw people out of money, leave them no choice and hire minimum wage employees to handle the anger. LOVELY. JUST LOVELY. Stay away. They have cost me hundreds. Stop enriching these people. They'll only use their profits to do bad things to you, like they did to me. read more

We have been with Swezey for a decade. My husband and I have always had the contract with them. We just received our renewal in May and the Price was $4.95 per gallon, so my husband and I decided it was time to look around. We did not want to renew with Swezey, also because they were not providing us the service of the contract. In April, we had a technician come out with the initials DT and he was literally here for 10 minutes and done. He was sitting in his van smoking and then when he saw me, he got out of his van and he said that's it I'm done and I said to him, but you didn't even vacuum, and he said the company does not include that anymore. He said if you want, I will go down there and vacuum if you need to hear the vacuum. So unprofessional, so I called and reported him, and they apologized and said they would have the owner contact me which he never did. So yesterday they came and topped off my tank. I came home to find the slip in my mailbox, so I immediately called and spoke with Jenna and said we were no longer going to have you as our fuel company. We never signed the contract and Jenna's response was you never called us to terminate so we just automatically fill you up. Not only did they do that without our permission but they charged us $5.25 per gallon. Bottom line they pulled a fast one so I just wanted to warn the public that they are not a nice little family owned company. So dissatisfied. Strongly suggest looking for another company. read more

I thought this was a good company, the lady from the office called me and said my card was declined and she needs a different card number to pay for my oil, she said it in a rude way, I told her I already paid it yesterday as soon they delivered the oil. She was very nasty to me instead of saying I am sorry there was mistake she went on arguing with me as if she was asking my card number for the future. I never had my account on auto pay and she lied to me as if it was on auto pay. I tried to explain to her that if I already paid the bill my balance should be zero why is it trying to charge me, she didn't want to answer that and being nasty. She didn't want to apologize to me and gave the phone to her co worker. I guess they were trying to charge me the second time without checking. She refuse to apologize to me after being rude. read more

Thursday evening at 10:30 pm, I had no heat or hot water. I called the emergency # and spoke to a kind women. I explained my situation and she said she would have someone there within a half hour. By 11:30 pm ,my heat and hot water were back. Thank you . You were so efficient and helpful read more

We were looking for a new oil delivery svc this year and came across Swezey.Everything seemed ok but when they came to inspect our boiler they said we needed a new vent pipe for the oil tank our pipe needs to be 1"1/4 and its 1" So because of this they wont be able to deliver oil They quoted a price of $350 to change it.I thought it was a bit high so I called a donlon bros heating svc to get a better price for the replacement and they said it wasnt required.The 1 1/4 rule is for newer homes and to use another heating company I called Swezey back and they said ok we will replace it for $250 read more

Horrible. They have become badly managed and greedy. I was a loyal customer for many years; they were pleasant and easy to do business with; this has changed in 2022. The office is confused, one person not knowing what another is doing and saying. On top of this they badly overcharge for oil, and fashion contracts that try to lock the customer in to inflated prices. Bye, Swezey! read more

I had Swezey for years. When the price of oil was low I would call to get a delivery and they told me that they could not deliver on that day.. and sometimes they didn't deliver at all. I just paid over $800 for a delivery of oil, I called them and they told me prices were high and I got the best price. So I did some research found out they lied and then called to cancel the contract. Three days after that (two weeks after my last delivery) the price of oil skyrocketed and I see the Swezey truck pull up to my house and begin getting the hose out to put oil into my tank! I run out there and tell the guy I did not ask for a delivery and that I do not have a contract with Swezey any longer. The guy said he had me on his list to deliver oil. I told him "no". Then I called Swezey and they were rude, told me it must be another company, I said "with a swezey truck"? Then they rudely hung up. They tried to scam me and make me pay for oil at its highest price! From what I understand, other oil companies were also trying to do that while they could make the extra money as well. If I could give Sleazy Swezey a zero I would. I know, you've never heard that before, but it's true. Never sign a contract with these guys. They will not let you out, even if you're in the middle of a divorce and they will keep delivering oil even if you don't live at the house. They will then charge you $899 to get out of the contract. Sound reasonable? Of course not, but that's what Sleazy Swezey will do. Trust me, there are plenty of other options they will also overcharge unless you shop around. Took a service contract through Mather Hospitals for employees. Capped price was $3.04, contract says we pay the cap price or current prices whichever is lower. All other fuel companies (current prices) are around $2.35-$2.45 but these clowns are charging me almost 75 cents more a gallon and won't let me terminate. Aweful, horrible, unscrupulous company.....use Johns Fuel as they are currently At $2.36......and if you have a contract with Sweezey run away the second it expires because you get automatically renewed if you don't. I WAS YELLED AT, CURSED OUT AND HUNG UP. DISGUSTING COMPANY! This review is for the individual named Jim (sales), that waisted 6 days of my time, never send an application that I requested and provided my email for, tried to upcharge for the service once I finally got a hold of him, and at the end said he didn't need my business, yelled like 5 year old and literally hung up. Horrible, disgusting, unbelievable service that I have no words for. Sweezy, you must be insane for letting this unqualified in all ways and matters semi specialist to handle your new account operations. You're losing business because of this individual. I will make sure to tell all friends, neighbors and family to switch to other providers who appreciate our business and treat customers with dignity. This is insane, given the multitude of great oil contractors in the area. Besides that I don't remember being treated like this by anyone, ever. I couldn't even say a word in this monologue of your employee. If getting a new customer application took 6 days and 5 phone calls, what's the service like??? Details below as when I asked to speak to a manager he said "No". Details: I called 5 times in 6 days days to sign up for their service that was recommended by a colleague. I was given a rate and was told the application will be sent to my email address, that I provided, momentarily. 2 days later no application. Called to follow up, but was told the timing was "inconvenient as he's driving" and I need to call him back on Monday. Sure, I'll do your job. Was told that he'd give me the rate that we agreed upon as it's his fault for not sending the application timely. Sales 101: Do as you said, follow up timely and don't be a dick to your prospective customer. Friday, Monday: Call again, leave a voicemail just to get a call back 6 hours later. Call, no one answers. Typical waste of time. Tuesday: Call again to hear that "your rate went up and I don't care that I said it was locked". To my question but you never sent an application despite my numerous calls, the answer was this is your first time calling. I have screenshots of our phone conversations, so stop lying. After 10 minutes of screaming at me and talking over me he hung up. No apologies that the application was never sent, or that my time was waisted. I will get to the bottom of this, as it's unacceptable to be treated the way I was and I don't want anyone else to experience what I have. Shame on you Sweezy. I am a customer of Swezey Fuel. On Friday I discovered I had a leak in my oil tank! Oil had spilled on to the basement floor and was spreading before my eyes! I called Swezey and they responded almost immediately! They sent a service man in 30 minutes and soon after a truck arrived with a temporary tank to store the oil from the leaking tank! They rerouted the supply line to the boiler and all was running when I left my house!!! If you can find someone better use them but I doubt any company exists who could do what Swezey did!!! Had a boiler break down the other day at 930pm. Emergency repair was at my house by 10pm and fixed the issue within 45 minutes. The service engineer was polite and professional. Thankfully we had the service contract which has always come in handy. I def recommend this business. As for oil prices....oil is oil...not much can be said about that. read more

Do not do business with this company. I recently moved into a home I am renting where the landlords had a service contract with them. Because of that I am locked into getting oil from Swezey because they service the burners. Come to find out these crooks run my credit and then force me to give them a $500 deposit!! Forced me! I have decent credit there's no reason why I would have to do that other then them being assholes. I needed to get oil and was only able to get from them. We found a new company for service and oil 50 cents less then what Swezey offers. Now it is nothing but attitude and unknown answers to when I will be getting my 500$ back. read more

I used to buy oil from Swezey Fuel. They offer several good service plans and have a deferred payment option for fuel deliveries. The major problem is they have a surprisingly rude woman in the service department. Since it's a family owned business, there's nobody to complain to. Finally I switched to one of the larger Oil companies where they offer all the same services and they don't put up with that sort of behavior. read more

Swezey still continued to deliver oil after my contract was done. They claimed they never received a letter from me so they could still deliver oil for a dollar more then I was previously paying! I have been using Swezeys for 11 years. I couldn't be happier. I have never run out of oil with their automatic delivery. Over the years I've had 2 breakdowns with my oil burner and both times technicians were at my house within 2 hours. Prior to last year's heating season, I had locked in a fixed price for oil. Near the end of the heating season oil prices started to drop and Swezeys let me out of my contract early and charged me a lower price! I can't imagine that there are many companies that would do that. It is so refreshing to witness honesty and integrity in this day and age. They squeeze you for every dime ... and always deliver the day after the SPOT price of oil goes up.. It can be 10 degrees out, and if you owe them $1.00 they won't deliver... but if oil price goes up that day, even if you owe them $500 ... they are there giving you a full tank at the new higher rate. And they charge 75% over the the price of home heating oil ... you basically pay for an entire new burner every year with their inflated rates, so why bother with a contract, just get a new burner each year. My husband and I were out of town and found out we had no heat in our home when our daughter checked the house. I called Swezey's and within 5 hours, it was back up and running. This company has ripped me off too many times. The latest is when I cancelled all deliveries because I was moving, and they deliver 31 gallons of oil 2 weeks later and top off my tank. They claimed I never cancelled the deliveries. I was stuck buying from this company for 2 years because my landlord uses them for repairs. Charging high prices and playing games with deliveries. Don't buy from them. Brad the sales person and Barbara in customer care just blow you off and say deal with it. They also made me put a $600 deposit on the account.
