Very disappointed with SWFL boat rental. We didn't get the boat we reserved, had smaller boat and did not receive an sort of credit for that. And then were charged for fuel without even as much as a receipt for the charge. No notice that we were going to pay $160 in fuel charges. The security deposit is NOT a deposit. Its a fuel charge. Don't be fooled. The guy who was there when we picked up the boat said nothing about refueling. This is a rip off. $7.78a gallon. Are you serious?? Lots of boat rentals have fuel included. Everything went smooth, we had a perfect weather day to be out on a boat and enjoyed an easy ride on the inter coastal. The boat itself ran excellent and was very clean. Boat drop off was late. Asked about refuel and Alex said the fuel dock at El Jobean would be open when I got back at 5. I got back at 4:45 and the fuel dock was closed so we had no choice but to let them refuel for us at THREE TIMES the going price! $7.78/gal! (see receipt!) We did fuel up at Gasparilla Marina for $2.35/gal so its a RIPOFF! Especially since I was told it would be open! Didn't have the experience with the boat rental at Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda. 4-20-2022 * Horrible Customer Service - Planned my Daughter and Sons Birthday celebration on the water for a month. Took my kids out of school, purchased supplies, and spoke to Oleg several times over the course of weeks leading up to the rental to assure we had everything we would need, and the event would be perfect. I didn't think much at the time about the carefree nonchalant attitude that I experienced from Oleg. Despite the fact we were paying 500 for a full the day. I really liked the boat and though the Hurricane SS 201 would be perfect for our 5-person celebration on the water. On the day of our event, we had a difficult time locating the SWFL spot at Marine Max in Venice. I called SWFL boat rental for clarity since I had never been to their Venice location. Oleg was a bit rude with his comment " didn't I see the email" I told him no, the only email notification I got was the calendar invite for the boat rental. His instructions of what to do and where to go was so poor that it led me to another person at Marina Max Venice. He was very helpful and gave some good instructions on where to go. As I pulled in; there was Oleg standing and waiting. I could not believe that he would not have flagged or waved to help us find his location. He must have seen us scrambling nearby to make our 8:30 pickup appointment????? Anyway, we made it and he gave us the paperwork to sign and while we were signing the paperwork, he says I cannot rent to you because there is 20-25 mile an hour wind advisory for small boats on the gulf. I was shocked we were not going on the gulf nor does SWFL Boat rentals allow you to even go out that far. We were just going within the gulf channels; so, I say to Oleg why did you not call us yesterday or even early this morning to notify us that you would not rent the board to us due to the advisory. He said, "yeah I'm sorry I should have called you earlier" its policy that we don't rent out when there is a wind advisory. I had my wife and kids standing there with me. We were all ready to experience the day. The weather was incredible no clouds just sun 88 degrees expected. I was so angry. Then he had the nerve to Tell me he can rent to me tomorrow if the wind advisory goes away and that he can give me a 25-dollar discount on the rental. Meanwhile I see a hand full of other families pulling out of the Marina without the inhibition of any other boat rental vendors. I asked for a full refund and just drove off. I have never experienced anything like that before. I don't know if that was a racially motivated stunt or a personal decision by this business. I'm not sure but I spoke with other vendors at the Marina and they were scratching their head as well. One person told me they have seen SWFL boat rental release their boats with much worse weather advisories. With the whole family disappointed we left and ended up spending the day on the beach in Boca Grande to celebrate my kid's birthday. It was bitter sweet; especially seeing that the day was amazingly bright & beautiful with very little wind from what I could tell; But seeing other families with small boats on the water really made this day somewhat distracting. I will never ever again rent from this boat rental company. Their advertising about being the best boat rental company in SWFL is obviously misleading and we were so mislead!!! read more

Great service, fast and easy, and lots of fun on the water. Online reservation makes it efficient; although the pontoon boat we reserved was not available, they offered another boat in its place to keep our reservation. Would've been even better if they offered a small credit on top! read more

We had a very favorable experience with this rental. The boat was in great condition when I got it and not so great when I brought it back. Through pilot error I managed to break the Bimini Cover. We called and they were very kind to a man who really felt terrible. The access was very narrow in the marina as someone had moored a big barge right at the entrance and there was another large boat right across from it. Caught the top on the bow of the other big boat. Everything prior to that was fabulous. I don't know yet what that is going to cost me but it was totally my fault. I recommend to spend the money on the insurance. I will definitely use their service again but it will probably have to be under an assumed name. read more

Don't trust this dude with your money! He will nickel and dime anything he can. He charged us a fee to sign a waiver. Then another for services we did not need or use. Last, refused to give full deposit back when we did nothing wrong and damaged nothing on his piece of shit pontoon boat. A boat which was literally falling apart. While we did have a great time with our boat on the water, we were given the boat 20 minutes late with the gas gage not working. They failed to mention that we needed to fill the gas up before returning. They kept $100 of our deposit for not filling up the gas upon returning and for being 15 minutes late returning the boat even though we received the boat 20 minutes late. We mentioned to the man, I didn't get his name, that the gas gage was not working and he said it was fine because they need to fix it so don't worry about it. He also said we would receive the full $240 deposit back in 2-3 days as we returned the boat in the same condition as received. I would not rent or recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other boat rentals you can use in the area. Do your research! read more

The boat was great and the service was terrific - the boat was delivered to a boat ramp that was close to where we were staying. The pricing was a little hazy...make sure you discuss all fees and what the total price will be when making the reservation. While it appears that this is the low-price leader in the boat rental market, once everything is tacked on it's just as much, if not more, than other places we have rented from in the area. read more

Ths worst experience I have ever had when renting a boat. Terrible customer service we showed up at our scheduled time and filled out all the paper work and they said nothing about needing the boaters certificate when called. As we finished paperwork they said they needed it and took all the money for the deposit. We were vacationing and did not have it and they said we just needed experience when on the phone but turns out that was a lie. We ask for our money back but we would pay some for the time and the guy said he would ask the manager and let us know. We did not hear anything and when trying to call the place they did not answer one of our multiple calls. These people are complete scam artists at its finsest do not use if you are vacationing. read more

Very clean and professional. No difficulty renting a boat. Very helpful with instructions and directions where to go. No difficulty finding the location sailing and returning the boat. Boat was clean and in good working condition. Had a very fun day on the ocean traveling up through the gulf and then back through the intercoastal. Kids were also able to tube. read more

Our initial reservation was rescheduled due to broken bimini top. Next week we arrived to find out it was at a different marina. Repairs needed to be made, left late but could not return late. broken fuel gauge (others had similar issue) in my opinion for a reason. vessel had 1/2 tank we were told but it was fluctuating between 1/3 and 1/2 all day. if we left with full tank it would be easy to just fill to the top and done. since we didn't know how much we used and notified the operator of the broken gauge, they charges us close to $200 for refueling which is more than a full tank at their marked up prices would cost. beware, shady business practices read more
