I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.

The bar staff was outstanding from start to finish. We had a few different bartenders taking care of us, and each one was attentive, friendly, and great at helping with recommendations. We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

Loved the loaded asparagus, but I wish it had been a more generous portion. Chicken and cauliflower was well seasoned. The chicken was tender and the grilled chicken sandwich was also a hit. The roasted red potatoes with kale pesto got great reviews from our dinner mates. Our server Ann was the tops! She was funny, personable and engaging. She read us well and made dinner most memorable! The picture is really a "secret"... you take your life into your hands going down into the "speak-cheesy!" The handrail was pretty rickety and the flooring really should be replaced.... It wouldn't affect the vibe at all... Loved my amaretto sour(s)!

We found on street…read moreparking quickly only a few short steps from the entrance on this Rainy Sunday Afternoon! The building (though Vintage) was Open, Bright and Airy! A major plus to this Seasonal Depression Sufferer! We went to the bar to place our order! We opted for the Knotty Boy Garlic Knots for $10 & the Fully Loaded Detroit Style Pizza for $15I had a bottle of water and though he was very disappointed that it was ONLY their WV Craft Beer served, he went with what the bartender recommended (closest to a PBR & Budweiser that they offered ) for $5.50, total with taxes & Tip was $42. We were surprised that the food was out in like 15 minutes. We fully expected to wait since Detroit Deep Dish normally takes 30 minutes to 45 minutes to cook fully. This led us to believe it was PAR BAKED for faster Customer Service which to many is NOT A PLUS! The Garlic Knots were very doughy and extremely dense in texture. Not a fan! The service was fast and friendly but for the atmosphere, price and the fact they are trying to be trendy, the paper plates & plastic cutlery was a BIG NEGATIVE!! I know myself even if Melanac Hard Plastic for plates is okay, but I want true Silverware!! The sauce has a really Great flavor and the cheese pull was very nice on the pizza. The sauce served on top, a big big plus!! I live in Ripley, WV and drove 35 minutes one way to enjoy this meal, but the question is...would I do it again?? Probably NOT! I give them a 5 out of 5 on atmosphere and ambience they nailed that! I give them a 4 out 5 on Customer Service because the food came too fast!! I give them a 3 out 5 for the food, the sauce was perfect but everything else about taste and flavor was a hit and miss. The score might have been higher if I had left off the Knotty Boy Garlic Knots!! The beer though I tasted it wasnt bad but Im not a beer drinker, my hubby was very disappointed so thats 2 out of 5 stars and the tableware scores a zero!! I wasn't on a picnic and the paper and plastic screams picnic or lazy kitchen staff to me!! So, would I recommend? I must say overall, 3 stars out of 5 stars! I recommend you go and decide for yourself!

We had to wait a little to be seated,…read moreeven though there was only 1 table occupied in the main dining room, although there were several patrons in the bar eating at high tops. The main dining room was dirty. There were a few tables that weren't bussed and there was trash on the floor. During our time there, none of the tables would be completely bussed, nor the floor completely swept. Servers would come through and take a plate or two or a glass off of one of the unbussed tables, but they would never finish. Another server would sweep part of the dining room occasionally, but never where there was crumbs or trash. We ordered a sangria and a house margarita and iced teas. The iced teas tasted old and stale. The sangria was ok. The margarita had an off taste. The waitress later told me that they make their own sour mix. It tasted like they mixed the pith from the lime in the sour mix as the background note was bitter. As far as the food goes, it was bland. We got guacamole and chips as an appetizer. The guacamole was just mashed avocado with no salt or lime juice detected. There were no onions, tomatoes, jalapenos or cilantro in it. It was a bland and sad excuse for guacamole. At least it was green and fresh. I ordered the Baja tacos and my husband ordered the steak burrito. Again, everything tasted bland. While there, another patron came in and waited a long time without anyone coming to seat him. He even said, "Does anyone work here?" My husband replied, "Theoretically." The person left. Our server was not extremely attentive, but she was ok. If you are tempted to go here, save yourself money and go to Taco Bell. It may not be Mexican, but at least it will have flavor.
