Coach Ethan is awesome! I signed up my son who was initially afraid of the pool for the 9 day course. I was honestly skeptical about the success of the 9 day course. However, it was a total success! My son loved every class and became confident in the pool. It was amazing to see his skills develop. Coach Ethan was so patient, calm, and interactive with the kids. He was very thorough and clear with the kids and quickly established trust with them. My son now loves the pool and learned how to get out safely, how to swim across, and how to breathe. The man is a magician! I couldn't even wash my son's hair without a full blown crisis about water on face... I was cringing when it was his turn to go to the pool. Ethan held his hands, looked into his eyes, asked if he was ready then puled him under water and off they went swimming. When my son resurfaced, Ethan said: god job, again!. In 10 minutes my son was basically swimming to him. No screaming. I forgot to close my mouth for the whole teen minutes. I was speechless. With all fairness, my daughter who has no problem with water but has a major fit about authority was screaming about the treatment for two days. Then on the third day she didn't want to leave the pool and at the end of the 9th day she broke down crying when I told her we won't come next day. I did two sessions for both of my kids. Kate was fantastic!!! My kid LOVED every second of class and was swimming by the end of the session.

Kate is the worst. If your child is older than 5 and has fears about swimming DO NOT go to this place. My son was nervous to be at swim class but went in willing until Kate forced his head under the water. My son was instantly upset and Kate forced him back in and under the water. She made no effort to listen to his fears, develop a relationship with him or to make the experience fun. Almost a year later, he is still traumatized by Kate's mistreatment of him and has trust issues with swim coaches now thanks to Kate. To Ethan's benefit, he did call and left a message when we did not go back the second day. But when I called and voiced my concerns with Kate, he never called me back. I was provided no refund. I would give this place 0 stars if I could--absolutely horrible. They only succeeding in making a scared little boy more scared. read more

Ethan is amazing! HIGHLY recommend these lessons. My 4.5 year old took lessons here. He cried the first day (which Ethan handled wonderfully), but by the second lesson he was hooked. Ethan really is the best. Our almost three year old participated in the 10 consecutive day lessons. She cried at first, but Ethan was calm and consistent. She made great progress but wasn't swimming by the end of the 10 days, although the other kiddos (same age) were. He did another 10 day session with her at no additional cost and now she's swimming like a little fish. I can recommend Swim to Ethan without reservation. He's great, the pool is great (no chlorine), the small class size of three kids is great, and the price is a real value considering you have a swimmer at the end. Could not recommend Swim to Ethan any more highly! We did a 9-day crash course over our daughter's 2nd bday and the progess she made was incredible. She loved day 1, then day 2-4 she cried the entire time. But by day 5 and the final week she couldn't wait to get into the pool. Ethan is so calm the entire time which really helped our daughter calm down and learn to trust him and the water. It really was incredible to see. My 6-year-old son did the 10-day intensive class and I cannot say enough good things about it. What can I possibly say about Ethan that would adequately describe how grateful we are that we found him for a swim instructor for our 3-year old son? My child has both physical and cognitive difficulties as he has both dwarfism and autism. So I had no idea what to expect when enrolling him in swimming lessons and didn't necessarily expect that he would be swimming within the 10-day intensive course. But Ethan blew my expectations out of the water (pun intended)! :-) From day one he treated my son just like the other kids and was totally unphased by his differences. Ethan's approach is incredibly calm and mellow, yet firm, and I was shocked and amazed at how my son (who often has difficulty listening to instruction) just immediately tuned into Ethan and did everything he asked! Ethan has an incredible way of connecting with kids and earning their trust. I watched first-hand as my son and 2 other boys in the same session, each starting at different levels of swimming ranging from completely terrified to over-confident, all came to love Ethan and sure enough ALL WERE SWIMMING by the end, jumping in with joy on their faces! I am so happy we decided to go this route as opposed to a weekly 15 min class with 10 kids. This course has a small amount of kids, half hour long, salt water pool, feels like a private lesson and Coach Ethan made the kids feel so safe and comfortable in the water. My 4 yo daughter couldn't even wet her face in the tub without making a big ordeal and this class had her jumping in from the deep end and swimming! Great way to build their confidence in the water and Coach Ethan's technique and patience with the kids is amazing. Right after the 10 days session, we went on vacation and she was working on the skills she learned and swimming like a fish! We were beyond impressed! No more floaties! I cannot stress enough what an AMAZING swim teacher Ethan is. My 3-year-old son learned to swim in two days, for real. He definitely needed the next 8 days for technique and to learn confidence and how to swim further, etc, but by the third day there were no more tears, no more fear and he was fully swimming to Ethan. It was mind-boggling, because I was convinced that my crying, begging, desperate child from the first two days would not transform, but he did! What was odd was that during the first two days, even when my child was crying and asking to get out, he still clearly trusted Ethan and still, somehow, wanted to take his turn and swim, even through the tears. As usual with stuff like this, it was much harder for me than it was for my kid. Ethan just made the kids feel so comfortable. Nothing was forced. He is patient, knowledgeable, assuring, confident, kind, firm, empathetic, respectful, and the kids ADORE him. I am so grateful because now we can go on vacation and I don't have to be terrified that my kid is going to fall in the pool. In fact, he'll JUMP IN and have a great time and I know he'll be safe.
