Love Swiss Pantry! Been visiting for years. They serve deli type sandwiches and soups for lunch as well as having a small but diverse array of fresh grocery items and their delightful baked goods and treats. It's my understanding this place was started by the Miller family, who have a Swiss and Mennonite background. The folks working at the Swiss Pantry have always been very pleasant and helpful across the span of my many, many visits. Today was no different. One of the younger employees welcomed us, answered our questions, and happily agreed to make us some lunch even though it was a little early (around 10:45). While we waited for our sandwiches to be made, we took our time perusing all the gorgeous and delectable goods for sale. I squished on some super delicious looking breads of all sorts of flavors (cheddar jalapeño, cinnamon raisin, sourdough, etc), took in the fresh cheeses and meats, and admired the shelves dedicated to baking supplies: all sorts of different flours, baking chocolate, toppings, and more. They also sell corn meal, pancake mix, and grits from the nearby Falls Mill - which you should check out if you're in the area. One cool thing I saw for the first time today was some dip mixes: small containers of different spices and seasonings with instructions to combine them into a delicious dip. Both sweet and savory options were available (eg dill, bacon ranch, lemon cheesecake, caramel apple). Really cool! Would love to try it sometime. I was trying to keep my lunch light so I just opted for a simple grilled cheese with chips and a can of soda. It was only a shade over $6, which is pretty good for lunch these days, especially when the bread was soooooo good. There was a ton of cheese on the sandwich and it melted to gooey perfection on slightly sour, perfectly chewy sourdough. This place is definitely worth a road trip if you're not from the area. Combine with a trip to Falls Mill for a lovely afternoon. :) My final tip: one of my favorite items here is their oatmeal cream pie / oatmeal whoopie pie. Two slightly soft, slightly crunchy, perfectly cinnamony oatmeal cookies around creamy, silky filling. Don't miss it! read more

05/17/2021 Old fashioned country store near the Mennonite community of Belvidere TN.  Fresh baked goods are available like breads, cakes, cookies, pies, fried pies and other sweet delicious goodies.  More than a bakery, they have made to order sandwiches.   Every first (1st) and third (3rd) Saturday of the Month is Donut Saturday.  So I'll be back with more pictures... stay tuned. read more

We were recommended to stop here from the locals that own the mill. And they were right. So glad we stopped. There's tons to choose from in this store/deli. I got a turkey bacon avocado and it was to die for. We were ALL very pleased including picky kids. I'd stop here again and again if I lived nearby. There's picnic tables outside and 2 tables inside to sit at but I wish it felt more welcoming in the area inside. Lots of boxes, looked like employees break room. read more

For me, this was one of those stops I was INCLUDED IN but didn't really DECIDE on. However, from my observation there is a decent about of well priced cooking supplies, spices and ingredients (and inexplicably.. K-Cups?). I don't know if it is Mennonite owned and/or operated, but the better half seemed very excited for reasons I assume validate this assumption. If I went on too much more I'd be lying to pad out my Yelp review. Suffice to say, they DO take Credit Cards, and there was a steady stream of other people who seem to approve of Swiss Pantry. I can only assume that if you think you want to come here, you probably should. If you wife thinks SHE wants to come here, you probably should. read more

Super cute store! Not closely located to anything else really, but worth the drive to get there! Sandwiches are wonderful! Fried pies are insanely good as well. Nice sitting area outside for when the weather is nice. Also some seating inside as well. I've never been when it has been packed. I think a lot of people pick up to-go. A couple times a month they make fresh homemade doughnuts and they are sinfully delicious! Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Would recommend a million times! read more

We love the Swiss Pantry. We love all the different local products! I do have one criticism, twice a month they have donut day. It seems that no matter how early we arrive, they are consistently out of chocolate. From a business perspective that would tell me, when you think you have made enough of them.....make more!!! When you have a line of customers still asking for them, be willing to take a box of plain, toss some chocolate on them and have a bunch of happy customers, or do what you want and have people stop coming. read more

I was first introduced to the Swiss Pantry in the mid-90's by my college roommate who was from the area. Little did I know that almost 20 years later I would take a road trip to Belvidere just to go to the Swiss Pantry! I longed for their plethora of inexpensive seasonings and unique blends, their bakery goodies and salted pepitas! A road trip it is, when coming from Nashville, but it's not a bad drive, especially on the eyes. Plus, if you do like we did, you can make your road trip even more fun by visiting Bean Creek Winery and the Jack Daniels Distillery, as well. Swiss Pantry has a nice selection of ingredients for your cooking needs, including the basic seasoning necessities, as well as blends, all for a very low price compared to grocery store chains. We have stopped here several times over the years. Nice selection of dried bulk goods. Nice selection of breads and baked goods. They always seem to have Italian cream cake in their cooler. we tried their homemade oatmeal cream pie and it was a 10! So this is on the Franklin county/Moore County (JD distillery) unofficial tour I guess. Along with Falls mill, the winery, and other distilleries. This is usually my favorite spot to stop though. Not much will blow you out of the water but nice selections of fresh spices and homemade snacks. My favorite is their pecan chicken salad. THE BEST. If you are in southern Tn visiting the sights, stop at this cute little place for lunch or pick up snacks for the road. read more

I bought a multi layered coconut cake here today and it was awful, not one shred of coconut on it. It was frozen. This store usually serves high quality food but this was far below their quality. The reuben sandwich is good, and their donuts are on point. The fried pies looked amazing until I took a bite of one. It is mainly just gelatin filler with little bits of fruit pieces in it. The Swiss Pantry is a favorite of ours when we are traveling this area of Tennessee. While you are there follow Hwy 64 east and spot the Templeton Library near Sewanee and be sure and visit the campus of the University of the South in Sewanee. It is like stepping back in time. Grab a loaf of homemade bread and some cheese at Swiss Pantry and picnic on the grounds of one of the most beautiful campus in the US. read more
