Aug 2024 Food: did not try the ice cream, but many came in and no one seemed disappointed! We did have the pizza! It's a thin cracker crust with a generous amount of cheese. Friend had plain cheese and I had a pep, green onion, mushroom. Zero complaints, I loved it. Vibe: easy. The owner (I think) was extremely pleasant and other employee was very kind. It's a small operation, I love that. There's a map on the wall to mark where you're visiting from, local wears like earrings and stickers, and my fave-pics of the community and family. We got a 12 inch supreme and it was lukewarm when it came out. It was a 5 toppings pizza that barely had any toppings at all. Adorable little ice cream shop in the Lynchburg town square. They have a good variety of ice creams, including a Jack Daniels whiskey raisin flavor. Of course they have to have something JD! Ice cream was good but the workers could be a little friendlier. Nearly every shop we popped into in the Square had the friendliest workers ever! This shop was the least of such and for that reason it stuck out to us. They have indoor seating if you want some A/C but also a couple of benches outside for relaxing small town ice cream eating. read more

The girl behind the counter was very friendly and attentive. She took our order and made us feel welcomed. It is a pretty cool little shop and I love that they definitely kept and emanated that small town feel! My fiancee and I ended up stopping in to have a sandwich for lunch prior to exploring the town. This place was recommended to us by some staff at the Jack Daniels Distillery. They highly recommended saving room after lunch for the JD Whisky Raisin milk shake, add in the chocolate whisky sauce. We got the milk shake, it was $8, very rich, quite tasty, it was a cash only establishment. I thought $8 was a lot for a milk shake. Due to the rich factor, and the fact that we had finished lunch prior to consuming, we ended up pitching half of it, as we were hitting the road and didn't figure it would last in the cup holder very well. I wouldn't say this is a "must do" kind of thing, but they have many flavors of ice cream, they make and serve pizza as well (which we didn't try), and it seemed nice that this establishment offered something besides BBQ to eat. read more

Grabbed a quick ice cream cone on our way headed out from the Jack Daniels distillery. I am visiting from California and will tell you about my experience here. A group of us entered the shop and were not greeted, we stood awkwardly as the man said "can I help you". I understand some don't have a great day, but the least you can do is give a welcome into the shop. The ice cream wasn't bad however the customer service wasn't the best. Great little ice cream place in downtown Lynchburg. Located just on the square, about 100 yards from the Jack Daniels distillery, it's a fun find while in the area. Ice cream was great, and on top of that, they also serve good coffee here as well. We were in town for several days and got pretty familiar with their coffee. Highly recommend, but BRING CASH. So Lynchburg is a dry town, but this place gets away with adding Jack Daniel's to their ice cream. The staff were friendly and allowed us to try some samples. Visited here the afternoon of 4/5/16. We visited after we took our Jack Daniel's tour and our lunch at Barrel House. Great little ice cream shop right on the square. They had indoor seating and a few benches outside. The male working the counter (could have been the owner) was extremely friendly. He let me try two flavors before I decided. My mom and dad both got a cup of the Java Chip. They had it had great flavor and was creamy, I had the JD Whiskey Raisin with the Whiskey Chocolate Sauce. It was FANTASTIC! That is their signature flavor, so I decided I had to try it. The regular flavors were pretty reasonably priced. The JD Whiskey was more expensive (I get it, alcohol will increase any price), and the whiskey chocolate sauce was $1.00 extra. I did think it was a little more high than it should have been, but being as it is a tourist trap and that is a signature flavor with alcohol, it did make a little more sense, They DO NOT accept cards or checks, only cash. Seeing as they are a very small company, I do not see this as an issue. I would just recommend posting that on their front door, and stating there is an ATM right across the street at the local bank, They are very small, so paying the card fees or for a phone swipe is not necessary for them. I would recommend this shop, and I would go back again. read more

This was our first time here. Nothing fancy. This place had really good ice cream and service. There were the usual flavors of ice cream along with two flavors featuring Jack Daniels (rum raisin and chocolate cherry). Our party had mint chocolate chip, java chip and rocky road; all very yummy. Came in here for a sandwich while waiting for our Jack Daniels tour and they don't take credit cards. What century is this? That is something you need to clearly post on the front door because had I known that, I would have taken my business elsewhere. I understand not wanting to kick up 3% to Visa, but at least get a square for your cell phone. Well, okay, maybe they don't even have a cell phone. So I had to pony-up an additional $3.50 to take $20 out of a nearby ATM and the sandwich was as good as something you'd get from a vending machine at a hospital. You'd think the town of Lynchburg would take a cue from other cities with destination spots like a famous distillery, but I'm sorry, this town is a hole. There isn't much in Lynchburg that isn't connected to Jack Daniel's distillery, including the ice cream shop. The Jack Daniel's flavored ice cream costs more than the other flavors, and it's in no danger of becoming my favorite flavor, but it is interesting, and I'm glad I tried it. read more

The female owner is very rude, we use to go in there everytime we were in Lynchburg and that is often since we live about 20 mins and go to the WONDERFUL Harley store. They have a bathroom and we have used it a few times due to having smaller children and there are not a lot of restrooms. Most times we buy ice cream, this time we did not and we used the restroom twice. We were told that we were not allow to use THEIR restroom unless we were paying customers. Not only was the women very rude but also seeing as Lynchburg is a favorite place of ours it was hurtful. We have never been treated like that and usually people there are sweet and will talk your ear off with wonderful conversation. We will never step foot in there again and customers beware, if you do not buy something they will not make you feel welcome. Even if you have spent money in there before and often.
