I have had antiques restored over the years, including an antique tall clock that was restored by a furniture restorer of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Phillippe is as skilled as that restorer. He restored an antique liquor cart given to my parents as a wedding gift by my grandfather. It had been neglected over the years, parts were broken or missing. Phillippe did an amazing job on it and it now looks as if it is a museum piece. I purchased a Maitland Smith Chest of drawers and the shipper dropped it during transit. They offered to refund my purchase and shipping but I would have had to give them the item to scrap. I couldn't bear to do that. I found Swiss Woodwork and took it to them. They said they could make it looks great again, and they did. It was damaged when I bought it by the prior owner's puppy, so I always knew I would have to get it fixed, by the crushed top corner and broken foot , plus chips to the finish made me feel it was hopeless, but Steve made it look new again! We were referred to Steve of Swiss Woodwork by Anthony's Interiors in Pompano to refinish and paint the woodwork on two barrel chairs before being reupholstered. Steve is one of those experts who delivers both great workmanship and is a pleasure to work with. He instructed us to select a paint swatch for the exact color we wanted and he precisely matched the color to a specialized satin lacquer applied to the woodwork. He recommended we add glaze for a slight antique look which was an excellent recommendation. Wicker was removed from the chair as per Anthony's instruction. We were in close contact with Steve during the process via regular text, and upon completion, the chairs were promptly delivered to Anthony's. We are also grateful to Steve for serving as an intermediary between us and Anthony's in communicating our needs for the addition of cushion reinforcement and additional foam to the chairs. I am a senior lady, and alone, I needed a large Henredon armoire removed from by bedroom, it was put in when I remodeled seven years ago. My condo was sold and I needed to get it out. I would have had to remove door casing and header to remove armoire. The two of them came to my condo, hand sawed off crown, and took the armoire to their shop to repair.
