When you make the investment to have Teak outdoor furniture, you know that part of that commitment to keep it beautiful is annual maintenance. While I might have done it myself in the past when I had one or two pieces, now with 16 Teak pieces, I needed some professional help. After looking around online, I found Touch Up Teak and boy am I glad that I did! The office was very professional and got me an estimate very quickly. Their prices were reasonable and even better, they were able to get me scheduled quickly. Alex and Jonathon came out to my home, and began the process of stripping off the old finish and cleaning up all the pieces on day one. They were very neat and tidy with all processes and made sure that the dirt wasn't tracked into my home.The 2nd day they began to re stain the furniture with a marine grade stain that I supplied given I had some left over from the last time the pieces were worked on (they have options that they use on their website that you can review). Within 2.5 days, my furniture was back and looking brand new! They have an annual maintenance plan that I am going to sign up for to keep my investment looking great year after year and that's no small feat given this all sits outside in Florida weather. I purchased Teak furniture about 8 years ago and learned quickly it needs yearly care to keep a finish similar to when it is new. I would take on the task of cleaning and sealing it but it looked blotchy and streaked and discolored -- it never looked as good as I hoped When I looked for professionals to clean and seal, they were all based out of California or Miami. Living in Tampa -- it was frustrating not finding anyone local that specialized in teak. A few months ago on a whim I did a search and found Touch Up Teak on the web and they covered the Tampa area. Paul came out and sanded, cleaned, and refinished a Gloster couch, end table, two reclining chairs, and coffee table over a two day period at my house and I am stunned how good my furniture looks. He also refinished the arms on two very expensive Ethan Allen chairs where the sealant pealed and rolled up. Paul spent a lot of time getting the heavily gummed up sealant off and made them look incredible and brand new. I also had an old wood chest/bureau that was very weathered and worn being outside for years. It was a total disaster. Paul sanded it down and painted it and it looks like something out of Pottery Barn now. Paul also returned about a month and a half free of charge to wipe down and polish the teak furniture and do some light sanding on the Ethan Allen chairs which were a bit rough. If you have teak furniture -- this is the company to call. I'd given up on trying to keep my teak looking top notch but these guys make me glad of my investment in that type of wood. If you have other furniture in need of refinishing, without hesitation I'd have them do that too. I will have them out in a year or so keep the teak looking fresh. read more
