Amazing company. We had some tile tenting after a cold snap. We had about 10 tiles coming up. We called and spoke with Daphna who had her installer Howard call us for a visit and quote. Howard was able to see us the same day. He was courteous and provided us a quote that was several hundred less than we received from other vendors. The installer Carlos arrived early and could not have been better. He was very knowledgeable and really went above and beyond. He worked quickly and cleanly and always kept us up to date. These guys were great from the initial quote from Howard to the work being completed by Juan. Howard came out quickly to provide me a quote and explained what could be done to regrout my shower. He provided me a quote the same day. Juan came out to complete the work of regrouting my shower and I cannot say enough about the quality of the work he did. He explained what could be done and we agreed on sanded grout for the shower pan and regular grout for the rest of the shower. He spent an entire morning removing the old grout and making sure any water that had gotten behind the tiles was completely out before applying the new grout. He used a vacuum to suck up the water and also a fan to make sure everything was completely dry before he left. The shower looks better than when it was originally done. Contacted Universal to come out and give us an estimate for some tile repair and re grout the shower. Very responsive, was able to come out to Boca the next day. Red flags started when talking with Howard on the phone. Guy would not let me talk, repeatedly cut me off to the point where I just had to wait for him to finish, then I could talk only to be cutoff again. Next day Howard showed up, on time. Went into the shower to check the stability of the wall where our tile was by banging on it, very hard. Not a problem in it self, I did ask him to stop as I really felt more damage was going to take place. We still need to use that shower so more damage happening during an estimate is not ok. He flipped a switch and started yelling at me to not yell at him. Was not yelling, but was talking louder because he was banging on the wall very loudly... He threatened to leave, at which point I just said have a great day. I had to ask him to leave multiple times, which he finally did. He was clearly pissed off, maybe he was just having a bad day, happens to us all. Kicker is I was standing at the window watching him leave, he could see I was watching and as he pulled away decided to flip me the bird. Really, grow up your like 65 or something? I have used or recommended Universal Tile to clean and re-grout at least 10 times for various properties and, 100% of the time, I am super amazed at the before and after results. They are not cheap, about $800 or so for a 1,000 sq ft property, but WOW the results are incredible. I worked with an investor for a 2/2 rental property where the tile looked fine, but the grout was so dirty it looked black from bad tenants who had dogs that must have leaked on the floor dozens of times. Universal Tile came out to save the day and was there from 9am-4pm cleaning the tile floors, grout, and then repainted the grout a lighter color color to match the tile so that it almost looks grout free now and made a super dramatic improvement in the appearance of the property. In fact, the tile floors look so good now (and smells good too), that you would think it is a brand new $10,000 tiled floor property if you did not know any better. I live in Boca Raton. They came into my sister's bathroom to clean all tiles on October 29th. My sister came home in early November and was shocked to see that the shower floor was still black around the drain and ultimately after using it for a while she saw other black spots coming up. We called Universal and sent Howard out who quickly told me that the contract I signed did not guarantee it would be perfect. He was very rude and we sent him out of the house. I paid $925 for this service. The guy was here for about 2 hours, maybe. I then called Groutsmith who redid the entire job for less than $500 and months later it's still find and he said we should not have to clean it again for 5 plus years.
