We stayed at Black Rock Mountain Resort in Heber City where a Switchback Sports shop is located on the 2nd floor. We popped in to rent ski gear for our stay and Thomas was knowledgeable and beyond excellent! He took his time ensuring that we all had the proper fitting helmet, ski's and boots. We booked for 4 days but only chose to do 2 due to the fact that our stay consisted more of man-made snow rather than natural and we were refunded for the extra days. Switchback Sports is also located in Silver Lodge and will soon be opening a location in the Waldorf. Excellent gear, shop and customer service. Wow these guys are the best!!! Not only did they hook me up with amazing powder skis in the late morning of a sick pow day (when literally EVERY other shop had been run dry) - the customer service was also amazing! I kept the skis for 2 days - only ended up skiing on them for 1 - and they were completely understand and only charged for a single day. I would highly recommend based on their service, ski selection, and general good vibes (which are definitely needed for the mountain!). Ended up renting from them a couple more times to test some demos and received the same service level every time I was in the store. Couldn't recommend enough! read more

I purchased a pair of used skis and took the to Switchback to get my boots adjusted and the skis tuned up and waxed. They informed me that the skis were too old and that they would be dangerous to ski on. They recommended that I return the skis where I bought them and find a different pair. However, when I tried to return the skis, they would not except them back. The manager, Bobby, from Switchback personally went over to the establishment and helped me get them returned. He was very helpful and knowledgeable so I ended up buying a pair from them. They offered to tune up the skis and wax them for free for me. Great customer service. How often do the employees of a store sincerely give you their *best* effort? Switchback sports bicycle service employees just did that for me. I had a really subtle, basically unfixable problem with some fiddly bike bits. I bring the bike in as a walk-in, and they took the time to brainstorm a solution. rented snowboarding gear at the steamboat springs CO location This place was the absolute best. The entire staff was amazing and friendly. Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We had a crew of 7 including a 2 year old, and they had no issues getting us all fitted for snowboards. All in the span of about 45 mins. I will most definitely be using this outfit the next time we come back to steamboat. The staff here really made our first try at snowboarding an awesome experience. They sold a 14" Marin Kids BMX bike on consignment for my 8 yr old son back in May and we never saw a check. He is still owed ~$65. I have reached out on multiple occasions and my only reply and dialogue (months ago now) has been that the check was sent to a old address they had on file from over 7 years ago. ***This was NOT the address that was listed in the consignment form!*** When I advised that they sent the check to the wrong address the reply was "it will get forwarded in the mail". I explained that it would not reach us because it's been too long, and..... crickets. Last week I emailed again about this issue and CRICKETS again. It's been real fun explaining to an 8 year old why he never got paid for a sentimental bike he decided to sell to help pay for his new one. read more

I had a great experience with the bike repair service at Switchback Sports. I had originally had an appointment at another popular bike shop in town and they were too busy to fix my bike that day. So I was going to go to SLC. I called Switchback and Andrew did a tune up and fixed my tires in a few hours. I was thrilled! We rented skis for my youngest sister, and purchased some used demos for my oldest sister and I. I'm a disabled vet from out of state and this is my first time trying to ski Park City. I found Switchback Sports from a google search. We took our skis in to get them tuned and I was very impressed with their service. My disability can make me a difficult customer to interface with. One of their employees, Austin, was very patient with me. I was so impressed with their service that I returned today to buy a pair of skis. The manager, Bobby, waited on me. He was just as patient and friendly. After picking out a pair of skis he personally fitted my existing boots because I told him they were causing me problems. I was a first time skier who went here to rent boots, skies etc. They were SUPER helpful in renting my family and I the equipment we needed. I liked the fact that they did not try to up sell me on on equipment that I didn't need. Well, I liked skiing so much I decide to buy a pair of boots and went back here to buy them. I came into Switchback Sports to get my newly bought Thrift shop skis ready for the slopes. The sales/service person was friendly and understanding of my situation. I needed new bindings which were very expensive. He gave me an alternative in buying used skies and take the bindings off and transfer to my skis ( which matched the very hard to find boots). He then told me if I buy the bindings, he would adjust for free ( normally $40). This the tune up was $55 which was agreed on. But when I went to pick the skis 2 days later, my bill was indeed $95. They are friendly, helpful, efficient, etc. but, as you see, they do not keep their word. Anyway I hope they savor the extra $40 I gave them because it cost them a customer read more
