Zion Rock & Gem was the unexpected highlight of my trip to Zion. This was the last stop of my vacation, and the selection, customer service, and experience was impeccable. Christian (who was working behind the counter) was knowledgable, incredibly welcoming, and was a pleasure to chat with while shopping. We were able to select Geode rocks, and then Christian split them in half for us using man-powered machine in the back. The surprise of seeing the gemstone inside was such an INCREDIBLE experience. We chose Geodes with some other strangers who were shopping, but we left sharing a unique and one of a kind experience. I've been seeing the 'Zion Rock and Gem' store for quite sometime. I'm not sure when they came into business, but I do know their store has been here for awhile. We always just drove by when we would come in for camping or hiking at Zion and I always thought to myself "I want to check out that beautiful crystal store" but I never had the chance to because the second time we would drive by the store, we were just in a hurry to get home. This time I was determined to go with my children who rage from 15, 7 and 3 years young, all of them I have gotten crystals for ever since they were young and they now love crystal hunting. I've been collecting crystals and gems for the 13 years, I don't know why it took me this long to check out their store. Their rocks and gems are so beautiful and alluring, This place blew me away, I love that most of their crystals are raw and untouched, I find more beauty in it opposed to the crystals who've had "plastic surgery". They had so many rocks and crystals to choose from, we were here for a good hour. Christian was welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about their crystals. Thank you for the wonderful experience, we can't wait to come back!. On another Yelp review about this place, the person complained about the rocks and gems being pricey. I want to know where they are from because they charge an arm and a leg where I'm from, these are the best prices I've ever seen!. I stop for crystal and Rock shops. I was hiking at Zion national Park over the weekend, and decided to stop by and check them out. They have a large selection of rocks and crystals to choose from. They seem to specialize in large pieces, so if you're looking for a statement piece this is a good place to check out. Inside, you can find jewelry and some other smaller crystals. There is a large crate full of geodes, which is fun to crack open to see what you get. It's a fun store and I'll stop in again. read more

We stopped at this little shop on the side of the main road headed into Zion National Park and I'm so happy we did! There were tons of locally sourced selenite and other crystals to choose from at great prices. The shop itself was small inside with lots of jewelry and there are tons of crystals and rocks all around the front and back of the shop. Definitely worth a stop if you have time. read more

They had a smaller selection than the other one down the road but the prices are much better. Their selection is also still incredible especially if you are looking for bigger rocks or pieces for outside. I bought a massive light blue rock from outside on the right side for $6 a lb that was called Utah Copper something and I can't remember the name of it but I can't get ahold of anyone to figure out what it is. Spent a while looking and when I got in line and was asking about a stone another couple put their thing on the table and the worker helped them. Obviously my fault for not just putting my stuff first but I felt like waiting, so I waited and waited and they kept talking and never actually finished the transaction until I stormed out. Wound not recommend because they really don't care about you unless you have lots of money. I wanted a small gift but if you're buying a lot and plan on spending hundreds they will take care of you. We usually stop here after visiting Zion NP and make a little purchase. You can get better prices on these types of rocks and gems elsewhere but this is a tourist spot and the prices are appropriate for that level of business. They have a lot of gifty stuff inside the shop and stones by weight outside, with scales. A lot of the pretty, colorful stuff outside is large hunks of glass. They have lots of geodes to go through (choose the ones that feel light weight for their size). Plenty of cheap thrills if you just have a couple of bucks and feel like looking through the troughs of smaller rocks. read more

I stop by this location looking for a decently big size stone. I couldn't find one that I liked. I did notice that I wasn't having a spiritual connection to the space. I stopped by a local rock and gem stone store before and liked that feeling a bit more than this location. There are some pretty good deals if you are looking. I overheard a conversation with the worker and a customer saying that they are big stones and rocks in the front came from a factory back in the 50s. I did find a 12inch selenite for $10. Stopped by this place on the way out of Zion national park. Wow, their glass pieces are huge and pretty! They have some cute unique pieces but it seemed kinda pricey. We've loved shopping here for years. They're located just before the entrance to Zion's National Park. Our kids enjoy choosing rocks and fossils. They have nice necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Some of the rocks are polished and shaped into hearts or animals. Most are in raw, uncut shapes. Many are local things. You can buy geodes that they will crack for you. Prices are fair. Employees are knowledgeable and will give info cards on available items. read more

Stopped in briefly to grab a couple of small items as souvenirs of my first trip to Utah. Bought some nice sandstone coasters at $5 each, and some hematite spheres. Shopkeeper seemed friendly and provided the other customers in the shop good info on the minerals they were looking at. Prices seemed reasonable, but I am not a serious geology guy. Be sure to check the outside areas if you are looking for bigger minerals, sold by the pound. read more

so cool. coming from an area where there arent shops like this, or acess to these types of rocks, i was amazed!! they have huge rocks and crystals, and even something i had never seen before. there is this thing that looks like a crystals but is actually glass. apparently it is super old ! you can ask the shop keeper about it, its very fascinating. they had some crystals and rocks specific to utah, and one super cool one called septarian. it was formed millions of years ago during the cretaceous period. very interesting and cool. they had plenty of rocks, crystals tumbled and raw, clusters, geodes, tumbled shapes, and even fossils. many varying sizes, and in the front of the shop is where you will see the huge chunks of rocks and glass. they also have crystal pendants, keychains, and jewelry. the little collection of fossilized items were very cool, they had the shell fossils (ammonite i think) , amber , stuff with bugs, petrified wood, shark teeth, arrowheads. they have anything you could imagine, selenite towers, crystal bowls, many many mini shaped tumbles (hearts, stars, orbs, palm stones, many different super cute animals, mushroom) . they have some larger expensive pieces , like solid pieces of crystal , rare crystals, large carved crystals, large geodes, stuff like that. everything else is cheap i believe it is priced perfectly. again, coming from my hometown this was insanely cool. if you are into rocks or crystals etc, this is a must!! not sure who owns the place but there was one guy there today, he was very kind and answered all our questions. he wrapped everything very nicely and individually also. amazing atmosphere super cool and chill loved every bit of it. read more

I'm g from Las Vegas and I come down pretty much every weekend and I just love it here. I love the staff, I love the selection, I just love everything about it. Kimmy is one of the best employees here! She's very welcoming and just down to earth and just hilarious. I love her sense of humor. She deserves praise. I totally disagree with all the negative comments about her or anyone on here. They have accommodated me in so many ways. Christian is very knowledgeable when it comes to all the rocks and gems. He's never failed to answer any of my questions. They treat my grandma like royalty. If anyone has something bad to say about anyone here then it's probably because they aren't very friendly people themselves because I've gotten nothing but friendliness from the entire staff. i like sparkly things...who doesnt? heading home after a weekend in zion, the sparkly blue glass caught me eye on the side of the road. granted, i thought it was something more unique that glass, but hey it got my attention to stop on by! glass, rocks, geodes, fossils, gems...and cutesy souvenirs made of such things. funt o look around and consider a little memento. i got some picture frames made for the red rock formations of utah that were on sale. but probably the coolest thing was being able to pick out an uncut geode for the employee to break open. they have bins and bins full of different kinds in different sizes ranging from as little as $7 (?) and up depending on how big you want it. they also guarantee you will get something pretty inside or you can pick another. with samples on the table across from the bins, you are able to get a feel for what the different ones will look like inside. mine came out very cool! it was also fun watching him cut it open in eager anticipation. read more

Kid has recently developed an obsession with crystals and rocks, so imagine her delight to see this display of various rocks outside at Zion Rock and Gem! We gladly stopped to shop and let her spend some allowance money. First let me say that I have never shopped for rocks before, and I suffered from some pretty serious sticker shock when I weighed some of these stones and discovered how much they were going to cost. I had my eye on one lovely green bowling-ball-sized rock (unpolished, uncut) only to discover it was going to run me over $50, at which point I put it back and started pulling Kid to the "small rock" section. Even here, the few rocks she collected in a small basket ended up costing her $30. So, maybe rocks are pricey and I just never knew that, but I still very much enjoyed looking around here. The coolest items are inside the store, where you will find some beautiful crystals and amazing fossils. They also have a lot of local sandstone items, which make for excellent souvenirs. I got a set of four sandstone coasters ($20). I was a bit disappointed that the cashier (maybe the owner?) seemed disinclined to talk to us. I mentioned how much kid loved rocks and crystals, and rather than engaging her or teaching her something, he just grunted. Seems like when you run a small business in rural Utah and somebody expresses a strong interest, you might want to strike up a conversation. Overall, a very cool stop, but there are several other rock shops in the area that might be a bit cheaper and/or friendlier. read more

I have to disagree with most of the people on here. I was initially excited to come visit this shop as I always pass it when I am in Zion...so this time I actually went in. I was unimpressed by the assortment, quality, size and prices (the prices seemed high for what you were receiving)...Some of the stones were super small and the prices were super high...I am glad I left and went down the street for much better specimens. The customer service wasn't welcoming or nice...they were there to sell you stuff and that was about it. When they were "nice" it appeared they were faking it...or trying way too hard...very plasticy. There are 2 other stores soon the same street that are far better for prices, quality, customer service and assortment. read more

I came up from Las Vegas to visit Zion. While approaching the national park this gem of a store caught my eye! I promised myself I would stop on the way back down. When I got back there I was even more amazed by the quality, quantity, selection and even better... the prices!! I bought 7 items including a massive green citrite. My nephews (4 and 7)were trying to decide what magnetic rocks they wanted to buy. These are quiet, well mannered kids. They were taking their time trying to pick out what they wanted when lady that owns the shop apparently had enough of them trying to decide what they wanted to buy and told them to stop going through the baskets of things that were obviously for children. My nephews were in tears walking out of the shop while the owner kept on saying "This is my shop! This is my shop!" She even had the nerve to brag that "I'm probably going to get a bad yelp review today" to my cousin who visited the shop a couple hours later!! You sell rocks outside of a National park honey, half your customers are probably going to be kids. WORST experience ever. read more
