It's very telling of his attitude and inability to stay professional. Making up stories about your patients? You are far from the depiction of a "medical professional", buddy. Also, my photos show my injury. The MRI was just taken on April 7, and I am still unable to place proper pressure on the foot after all this time. I explained this to this guy and he just wasn't listening. Was going to stop at reviews, but you just earned yourself a BBB report, as being a liar on top of all of this ridiculous behavior is extremely concerning. Congrats. Zero stars. This doctor Syamak Yamani is most unhelpful, raises his voice, cut me off multiple times while speaking, did not even perform any range of motion tests on my ankle whatsoever. Actually, didn't even lay a finger on my ankle, or even looked at it! He read the mri results and just wanted to 100% rely on that, stating there was nothing wrong with it. I clearly injured it quite badly and haven't been able to walk. I've had an mri report misdiagnose me for a left hip labrum tear before. Ended up having to get surgery on it as a different MRI place was able to properly find and diagnose the tear. This guy doesn't care about his patients. Staff were really nice though. They deserve to work for a better doctor. He is a prime example of poor practice. Highly do not recommend. I urge everyone to take the time to look at his 1 star reviews. Very disappointing visit for a serious Achilles issue affecting my daily mobility. There was no meaningful exam, no functional assessment, and no real attempt to understand the root cause beyond looking at an MRI. Despite already using custom orthotics and attending weekly physical therapy, the focus was on selling additional orthotics and suggesting mine were "worn out," which is not accurate. When I asked for exercise or rehab guidance, I was told that was a PT question and left with no actual treatment plan or direction. I waited about two months for an initial appointment. It was canceled two days before I was supposed to be seen. I was calm about that and simply said "OK." They rescheduled me another month out -- roughly three months total waiting. My rescheduled appointment was for tomorrow. Today I received a "confirm or deny" text and made three phone calls trying to coordinate my work schedule. On every call, the front desk staff member spoke to me with a rude, hostile attitude. First call: I asked if the appointment could be moved. I was told no and pressured to confirm immediately. I explained that I am a freelancer and needed time to check my calendar and hear back from the person I was working for, so I said I would call back. Second call: The person I was working for had not yet responded, so I called back to ask for a different day. A far-out date was offered. Again, I needed time to check my calendar before I could say yes. While I was checking my calendar and before I confirmed or declined anything, my appointment was canceled by staff. I was then sent a personal text stating: "Please find another doctor or another location if you are unsatisfied with our hours." Third call: I called back and said that I had not canceled my appointment and asked why it had been canceled without my consent. The staff member raised her voice at me. Only after all of this did I raise my voice, telling her that canceling a patient for needing reasonable time to check their calendar is an abuse of authority. That reaction is now being falsely reframed as the cause of the cancellation -- but the texts show the cancellation and dismissal came first. After that heated phone call, the staff member sent another heated, argumentative text to my personal phone, continuing the dispute instead of ending it professionally. I am confident the public reply left on google maps was not from the doctor but from the same front desk staff member using the doctor's account. The tone matches the personal texts I received, and I do not believe a physician would communicate this way. And here she is again- the reply left is by the front desk lady- look at her angry tone. I've been to Dr Yamini now a handful of times, and had a thoroughly professional, caring, and all-around top-shelf experience every time. I've been referred by my primary doctor to less-than-stellar podiatrists before, and in this case, I took matters into my own hands and found Dr. Yamini myself - and I'm so glad I did. (Both for a bunion and later, for a broken toe.) I'm current;y recommending my brother go to him for his own foot problems, which he's put up with for years (as men often do, unfortunately)! I should add that his staff at two locations I went to (Porter Ranch and Encino) were professional, courteous, friendly, and patient with me - even when I messed up my directions somehow, and called them in a frustrated tizzy when I was lost. EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION: A handout I was given from Kaiser showed this as one of the recommended podiatrists for orthodics and amount was $325. When I called they told me that their prices had been updated" to $375. Nevertheless, I chose this office because it was convenient to my location. The office staff is nice and the office is clean. I had a short meeting with the doctor, who was pleasant enough, and then an assistant scanned my feet. They did not offer me the option of paying an additional amount for a second or even third pair of orthodics. (Obviously it's convenent to have more than one set of shoe inserts since I wear multiple pairs of shoes.) A week or so later, I was notified that the orthodics had arrived. They were given to me by an asssistant in the office, who also gave me a written guideline on how to break them in. After wearing them for a week or so, I called to see if I could order another pair for an additional fee. A young lady named Jennifer called me back and told me it would be an additional $375 for a second pair. She said they don't initially offer a second pair because they want to make sure they fit. Okay, so now we know they fit and I'm requesting additional pair. So two pairs is $750? For reference, other than my initial visit, I did not see the physician again. Because of my search algorithms, I've been seeing ads for orthodics, FOR EXAMPLE: "Second Pair for $[less than the first pair]. So is it not reasonable to assume that a second pair would be less than the first pair which included examination, scanning and fitting? If a patient can benefit from an additional pair, why wouldn't you provide them at cost plus a percentage? The work has already been done. One pair for $375 and two pairs for $750 isn't reasonable or logical. It feels like price gouging. read more

From beginning to end this was a nightmare. I walked into this office in pain and had to endure the office'a 85 degree temperature. After being uncomfortably hot and in pain I went in to see this "Dr.", and he indirectly told me to stop complaining that my foot wasn't going to fall off. Mind you I had three fractures around my ankle. When it came time to get my medication, my wife had to call my insurance for him to get my pre authorization for my prescriptions; he said that neither his staff nor him do pre authorizations. Not only did my wife do the work for him because he refused to, but when we got him on the line he told my insurance that "he did not get paid enough to sit down and fill out preauthorizations". So I had to pay for my pain meds out of pocket. That same day, he set a date for my surgery but two days later he dropped me as his patient. He claimed my insurance didn't cover my surgery, which was not true. I received a delayed surgery one week later from a far superior clinic. But because I was dropped as a patient and had to seek elsewhere, my bones began healing improperly. This was the most absolute negligent, dehumanizing, belittling, and literal painful experience of my life! read more

Dr. Yamini is awesome! My dad had an accident that completely torn his Achilles Tendon. He was seen by multiple docs that all pushed him to get a surgery... mind that he is 80! We visited Dr. Yamini per recommendation of another doctor... he felt dads leg AND WAS THE ONLY DOCTOR WHO ADVISED AGAINST SURGERY!!!! he said that he can feel the tendon repairing itself... he recommended we wait one month and check the leg again... we did... and he kept following up as his leg was getting better. Now after 6 months he is 60% better and can completely walk without crouches or a cane! Thank you Dr. Yamini for being so conservative, caring, and thinking about what's best for patients!!!! I honestly loveeeee dr yamini but the office manager/receptionist they have currently working at the front desk is very condescending & not pleasant to talk to over the phone. Not sure why it's only when I call and have questions that she becomes super rude and won't even let me finish what I have to say. Talks over me, doesn't listen, is very dismissive & again very condescending toned'. I hung up feeling beyond bothered. For this exact reason I won't be coming back which I did mention to her but she did not care at all. A patient shouldn't be spoken down to or dismissed when they have any questions!!!! If I can give this office zero stars I would. Everything from the staff to office was horrible. I have been in billing, coding and worked in office and with patients at an office and the attempt to even try and help a patient is horrible there was NO ATTEMPT! First off my Husband had great insurance PPO so the excuses they used was not valid. I worked in this field for several years and to hear a Doctor tell me and the insurance worker on the line "I don't get paid enough to sit and do these authorizations" and then proceed to tell the nice insurance lady "no am not going to talk to anyone or wait to get transferred" even after I made the call for him all he needed to do is sign a paper add some comments and get directed to a different department which I was in the line with and he still said NO! Another thing, it was so hot inside not even suitable for patients. My husband was prepared with all the things he needed for his appointment and because they forgot to make a copy of the X-rays we had to go back drive 45 mins to take the disk back then for them to get upset that we keep asking for help for prior authorization so then get my husband dropped? I am so glad this Doctor didn't want to do the surgery because of his own negligence due to that we met a Doctor that is empathetic and is great with patients and the office handles the insurance part of the process. This comment is everywhere because am still so upset at the fact that they don't care! He takes the time for the wrong things, I bet this he will reply fast too but not take the time to fill a paper for a patient in pain. In the Medical field as a Doctor you take an oath and that oath Doctor you did not take to heart because you failed to care for your patient. I also do recommend to never tell a patient that you don't get paid enough for what you do maybe a different field would have been better for you if this does not pay you well. It's also horrible to hear that the reason you are doing this is for the money and not because you want to help people. I hope you can help the patients you have and not ever tell them your pay check isn't enough or tell your patients to not cry over the pain like You did with my husband remember because we are in our mid 30 it does not mean we will not feel pain. There were a couple more things that I would have listed but just like he did not try and use his time to help my husband, I don't want to waste my time describing how our experience was. My husband had to see Dr. YAMINI today for the toenail that fell off his right foot! This was his first visit and both my husband and I were very impressed with the way Dr YAMINI treated him. I came in to meet with the doctor about a solution for pain in my in my foot. We had decided to schedule surgery. I felt comfortable with the doctor. I felt he was knowledgeable and very professional. However, that is not the case with the woman who answers the phone and deals with insurance. They never contacted my insurance to find out what was covered. That was a 1st for me. I was told to do that on my own via text message as she shared with my surgery codes. I called my insurance company after I received the text. my insurance company cannot figure out why they were talking to me because they have questions that I have no way of answering. Surgery in any form is a big deal and it is an absolute shame that somebody working for a doctor that performs surgery seems to be so lackadaisical about their job. Borderline annoyed when questioned. I was over the text messaging because she was not responding at all at that point. I have been working in the healthcare industry for 20 years and could not imagine that there are still doctor's like Dr. Yamini ....First off he is very professional and mild mannered, Performs hands on procedures from surgery to dressing changes. He takes time to listen to you and explains every single detail on what your diagnosis and prognosis, I am so lucky to be under his care from day one he did surgery on my right ankle ( peroneal tendon repair). I can't say enough good stuff about Dr. Yamini. A doctor with great bedside manners who genuinely cares about his patients. I had surgery on my foot on March 6th. He called to check on me that weekend. I'd had a consult with another doctor prior to seeing Dr. Yamini. I chose him because he made me feel comfortable and made sure that I had a series of tests to rule out other stuff, making surgery the last resort. I'd like to start off by saying I hate feet, especially my own extremely flat feet. I usually do not feel comfortable with doctors looking at my feet, but Dr. Yamini made it a very easy experience. I really appreciate the attention and expertise that Dr. Yamini provided. He was able to help me with a plan to help mold my feet into a much better shape and with more of an arch, without causing me discomfort in the process. Dr. Yamini is an amazing doctor and has made my injuries and chronic pain a little less daunting and overwhelming. I first was referred to him after fracturing my 5th metatarsal in September 2016. Seeing as I had never broken a bone before, I was a bit apprehensive about the whole process, and wasn't sure at all what to expect. From the very first visit, Dr. Yamini treated me with excellent care and explained exactly what was happening, what to expect throughout the healing process, and always answered any questions that arose. Unfortunately, luck was not on my side, to no fault of his own, I reinjured the same foot and ankle in March 2017, and without question knew there was no other doctor I'd rather return to for my care. My journey is not typical, as my body has reacted to my injuries with chronic pain and nerve issues, but Dr. Yamini has, and continues to, run extensive tests to try to get to the bottom of the issue and help relieve my pain. Many other doctors probably would have given up by now. His treatment plan is not a one-size-fits-all approach that many doctors have, but is unique to every individual and their circumstances. He is always quick to respond if I have questions or concerns, explains the results of every test that I have done, and truly listens to me. It's very rare to find a doctor that truly cares about his patients AND is also extremely knowledgeable like Dr. Yamini is. You never feel like he is trying to rush you out the door, but instead he takes the time to really hear what you are going through, thinks outside the box, and always puts you first when it comes to your treatment plan. My road to recovery may be a longer one than most, but I know I am in the best hands with Dr. Yamini, and for that I am thankful. So blessed that I found Dr. Yamini. I had pain in my feet because I had improper insoles and a fungal infection on my big toe. I had seen two other podriatrists. Both had wanted to use the old way of making insoles of taking moldings and the other just recommended another brand. Dr. Yamini using an Ipad scanned my feet for a custom fit. He made some adjustments and had a new pair ready for me two weeks later. My feet love them. He is also very up to date with new technologies. My previous podiatrist did the old fashion foot molding. Fortunately, Dr. Yamini was the primary surgeon for extensive and complex bone corrections to my left foot. The condition resulted from rheumatoid arthritis. I found Dr. Yamini to have excellent bedside manner. He explained everything that he would do during the surgery and prepared me to succeed with minimal worry. Other podiatrists mentioned to me that cases they found too complicated were always referred to Dr. Yamini and his expertise and patience. I saw Dr. Yamini a week ago for an ingrown toenail that was very painful. I paid my deductible of $75. He numbed my big toe and cut the side. I told him it was still painful as before. He said it looks like he got the whole piece and the pain would dissipate. I was told to soak it in epsom salt and it should be fine. A week or so goes by and the same level of pain from the first visit is still there. The side of my big toe is painful to the touch as well as the top of the nail. I called today and after consulting the doctor the receptionist told me to come back again. I was also told that since my deductible was not met I needed to pay another $75. WTF!!!
