Staff- 12/10 Leslie and her team were so accommodating and awesome Experience 10/10 What an absolute awesome hidden gem!!! My buddies and I booked cabin 10 for a guys weekend, and took off from KC on a Friday. We spent the afternoon playing a round of golf over at Rolling Meadows (highly recommend a nice little country golf course). Then popped back over to the resort for a dinner down at the restaurant. We lucked out, as they had a live band playing that were surprisingly amazing, and accompanied our dinner perfectly. The gang was split across burgers, chicken sandwiches and whatnot. Nobody complained and I don't recall any left overs remaining! Friday night saw us sitting by a big fire outside the cabin, and watching some of the planes flying around from Fort Riley for the evening. Saturday was a bit of an early morning, as we went over to Acorn's Wild for an awesome pheasant hunt! We had four dogs, an amazing guide in Paul, and were off for hiking the fields for a half day. It was simply the best hunt any of us have ever gone on, and literally all of us have been talking about how fast we can get back out there again. They followed it up with a heck of a lunch spread (seriously, I gotta find those homemade cinnamon rolls), then we sadly packed it up and went back to KC for family obligations. Already day dreaming about our next escapee over. All of this and it's only 2.5 hours away from KC!

Horrible. Terrible. Gross. Disgusting. I selected this…read moremotel because they take pets. Not a single amenity. No toiletries. No coffee maker. Not even a few paper cups to get a drink of water. The rooms are beyond filthy. Went to take a shower and the towels were stained and threadbare. No hot water to shower. Called the front desk who told me to run the water for 10 minutes or so to get hot water. Called back after about 20 minutes and said I needed to shower, so I had to pack up my room at 11 pm and move to an even dirtier room. Do not stay. My worst stay at a motel ever.

They said my three bed non-smoking room had black mold and was unavailable and they offered me a 2 bed smoking room in exchange. I declined and was told I would get a refund. After a few days I contacted them through the app and was told to file a claim through hotels.com Hotels.com investigated and denied my claim. I then called and an agent called the number they had on file while I was on hold. Got denied again. I called and spoke to someone (I don't believe he was actually at the location) and he said no problem have them call back and he will approve it. I did that again while waiting on hold and claim denied again. Tried a refund through Paypal and denied again. My Google map's history shows I was only on property for 12 mins. They don't have a copy of my Drivers license (like every place gets when you check in) I booked another room 1/2 mile down the road for the same time frame while sitting in their parking lot. And a police officer followed me to the next motel and stopped me to make sure I wasn't part of the things going on at this place he was investigating. $235 and hours of time gone

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lied Lodge!…read more We booked a room pretty much on the spot, and from the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel welcome. The two ladies at the front desk who checked us in were incredibly friendly, took the time to chat with us, and made us feel more like guests than just another reservation. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered--from the daytime team to the nighttime staff--was professional, kind, and genuinely helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with beds that made it easy to relax after a long day. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, making it a great place to unwind. We also loved the amenities, including the large pool, hot tub, and sauna. A special shout-out to Chase at the front desk. He truly went above and beyond when we wanted to extend our stay. Even though the lodge was nearly booked, he worked hard to find a solution and helped us secure a second night. That level of customer service is rare and very much appreciated. What stood out most about our stay wasn't just the beautiful property--it was the people. Every member of the team made us feel welcomed and valued. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Lied Lodge to anyone visiting Nebraska City. Thank you for making our stay such a memorable one!

That was definitely the highlight. Everything else was just... average to frustrating. Staff was fine, but not particularly friendly or welcoming. The gift shop is wildly overpriced -- $4 for a can of Smartwater? Seriously. And to make it worse, I was sent on a wild goose chase trying to find vending machines, only to discover both were out of order. So you're basically forced into paying their prices. Rooms were okay and the beds were comfortable, but the pillows were oddly small, square, and not great to sleep on. The bathrooms felt cramped, outdated, and had a slightly musky smell. Overall, looks nice at first glance, but the experience doesn't really match the setting.

Kenna is quite amazing with her presentation and the quality of food exceeds any expectation we've ever had. Unfortunately, a quick getaway this time quickly turned into an unpleasant experience. After dinner both of our keycards stopped working. We called the Inn for assistance and knocked on the main door but received no response. Luckily, another patron of the Inn easily slid a credit card into the room door jam and unlocked our door. We were lucky to have someone help us get into the room but equally concerned with the fact that the room door had to be left open/unlocked for the remainder of our stay to avoid future lockout situations. Additionally, the lack of effort it took for someone to open our door is more than concerning for safety reasons. To top off a lovely day and a hiccup with our keys not working the Inn elected to charge us extra (above our nightly rate) for unknown reasons. Again, calls to the Inn were not answered or returned. I don't usually take time to write reviews and would have overlooked our room keys not working if it wasn't for the unknown charges on our card. It's sad to experience what I would call a potential for a 5-star review be handled so poorly due to a lack of any response from the Inn. I hope this review prompts the Inn to improve the quality of communication and duty of care for their patrons.
