I have used the shop to resole birkies and replace kitten heel tips. Both time I was satisfied with the quality, the time and cost associated with the work. I recommend calling before driving there as this is a shop of one. When I walked in and the customer in front of me was dropping off 3 (3!)pairs of cowboy boots to be re-soled "Just like last time" I figured I was in a good place. They did a great job replacing the soles on a pair of casual boots helping extend their life for a few more years. This guy is a total rip off...I brought in a pair of heels just to replace the tap on the heal and tells me it will $15 cash ONLY! and 3 weeks till they are ready. Way too much money for just a tap and very long wait too! I pick up my shoes and didn't notice at the time that the sole of the shoe now was unattached! I take it back and gives me a story about it being the manufacturing of the shoe and wants to charge me $20 to fix it! Don't go here unless you want bad work and to pay a lot of money! I brought in my backpack to see if he could fix my zipper and I hand him my backpack, he inspected it and grabbed a tool, then proceeded to fix it right in front of me (which took a few seconds). I love this place. He is super friendly, is budget friendly and offers a variety of solutions. I've brought dusty boots from Burning Man to be cleaned - no problem. I've broken a broken leather belt - no problem. I've brought boots to be reconditioned no problem. Right before Thanksgiving I brought a pair of men's dress shoes to be resoled - instead of resolving, he suggested a cheaper solution to try first and when that didn't work, he resoled them so fast I didn't have time to wait. Omg! I brought in a pair of Clark's boots that I was about to throw away because I had worn the heel down through the rubber, and even some of the white plastic was ground down. The leather on the heel was ripped. I didn't even know if anything could be done. For only $20, this place built up the heel, matched the ripped leather, added a heel sole and gave my boots a polish. $20!! Now the boots will last for so many more years. I highly recommend. Unlike other places in the area that take 1-2 weeks only to get heels repaired and are more expensive, he offered to do it on the spot. this is the best shoe repair in tacoma! i brought in some cowboy boots that i got at goodwill and syd replaced the soles for 40$ in 24 hours. even polishing the leather and adding a price where the shoe was coming apart. he had a nice piece of plastic up between the customer and his workshop as well. will definitely be bringing any other repairs i need in! read more
