Our experience at Sygnii Apartments was an absolute disaster, and I urge anyone considering moving here to think twice. The complex is advertised as a "luxury" apartment building, but the reality is far from it. From security issues to unhelpful management, this place is an overpriced mess. One of the most alarming incidents was when my car was broken into right in the apartment lot. When I reported this to management, their response was a nonchalant, "Crime happens everywhere." Not only was this completely dismissive, but it also showed zero regard for the safety and well-being of their tenants. They offered no solutions or suggestions on how to prevent this from happening again, leaving me to feel as though I was on my own in a supposedly "secure" living environment. But the problems didn't end there. Shortly after, we began getting harassed by strangers who showed up at our apartment looking for the previous tenant. These people left notes taped to our door and even took pictures of our apartment. This was obviously alarming, and we immediately reported it to the management team. Once again, their response was, "It's out of our hands. You should file a police report." As if that wasn't bad enough, when we did file a police report, the police informed us that they couldn't do anything unless we were directly threatened. So, we were essentially left in a terrifying situation where strangers were coming to our door, and neither management nor law enforcement could do anything about it. At this point, feeling completely unsafe in our own home, we asked Sygnii's management to escalate the issue to their corporate office so we could be released from our lease early. We had only two months left on the lease, but we were no longer willing to compromise our safety. The response from management? Silence. We waited 14 days for any sort of acknowledgment despite following up repeatedly, and it wasn't until we threatened to take legal action that they finally got back to us. Their "solution" was to offer us a move to a new unit within the same building - a solution that made absolutely no sense. Why would we go through the hassle of moving into a new unit for just two months, incurring all the time, effort, and cost, when the underlying safety concerns hadn't even been addressed? At this point, we realized management was not going to be helpful, so we took matters into our own hands. We found a new apartment and moved out before our lease at Sygnii even expired because we could no longer tolerate the unsafe environment and the incompetent management. Our lease finally ended on September 22nd, but as of today, October 22nd, we still haven't received our security deposit refund. It's been 30 days, and there has minimal communication or acknowledgment from Sygnii regarding the return of our deposit, and zero apology. The lack of professionalism is staggering. To anyone considering living at Sygnii Apartments, please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place is not worth the premium price tag. The management is incompetent, dismissive, and entirely unhelpful when serious issues arise. From car break-ins to safety concerns to a complete disregard for tenant well-being, this is the farthest thing from a "luxury" living experience. There are far better places to live in this area - avoid this place at all costs.

Aren't the residents here great?!

Finally ended my lease early at Sygnii. I highly advise against anyone living there. You pay a ton for rent, and you don't get much else outside of a place to live. Management apparently has their hands tied when it comes to enforcing any rules. The grounds around the area are disgusting because nobody is apparently capable of throwing their trash into a dumpster or picking up after their dogs. Management expects YOU to be the one policing the area and give them the evidence. However when you do make a complaint, and provide proof of countless examples, they just stop replying to your emails. Which is when I decided it'd be best to just break my lease. I will say the maintenance crew (as in most apartments) are awesome. Always responding in a quick manner and very friendly. TL:DR - Residents are trashy and inconsiderate, while management are pushovers and lazy. Live elsewhere!

The dumpsters are ALWAYS overflowing.

You don't want to live here in the ghetto of Tigard. The management doesn't care about the issues you report. It falls on deaf ears. Rule-abiding tenants that report issues are ignored and the rule breakers get away with it. There's not enough parking spaces for the 240 units here. We have to park down the street outside the complex, which is unsafe at night. The road noise from Scholls Ferry Rd. is intense and loud. The pool area is not well maintained, broken hot tub, and the trash bins are not emptied regularly, which has terrible odors that reach our apartment. The rent here is excessively high ($2200/mo, 2 bedroom, 1 bath) and increases $100-$200 a month on lease renewal. The utility bills (water, trash, sewer) go up every month for no reason, even in the winter. They overcharge and bill unfairly not based on actual usage per unit.

By far the worst apartment I have lived in. If you are considering moving here do not make the same mistake I did. I have only been living here for a couple of months and I can't wait to move out. If it weren't for the high early termination fee (which I am so close to just dealing with the loss and finding a new place to live) I would have already moved out. At the previous apartment that I lived in I was located on the first floor and I had lived there for three years with no problems. For the price I am paying to live here, I had higher expectations for this place. Upon moving into my unit the place looked quite disgusting. I doubt they even had someone come clean the apartment after the last tenant lived here. They also left a huge piece of gum stuck to the back patio. The floors and ceilings are thin. You can literally hear everything your neighbors do. Check to make sure no kids live above your unit. I have been tortured by the upstairs neighbors with their children constantly running back and forth as well as constantly stomping around. This noise starts early in the morning pretty much every day and doesn't stop until the evening. The downstairs neighbors started slamming doors repeatedly late at night until after midnight sometimes. They also started blasting music past 10 pm. So I have not been sleeping much. I have tried talking to management and given them multiple videos to prove how loud the upstairs neighbors are but they completely ignore me. I have hours of footage and audio from different times of the day to back up my complaints too. The parking sucks. There are barely enough parking spots and people here are terrible at parking. There are big vehicles constantly parking in compact places. Many people park over the line making it even harder to park your own vehicle. The other residents have zero respect for your car. They will slam their door into your car. I have had multiple marks on my car since living here. I noticed that there was a charge on my rent for a carport for the first month of living here. I did not ask to rent a car portal nor was it in my lease agreement that I wanted one. I searched to see if maybe I missed it somewhere but I found nothing. I had no idea where this car portal even was. They still charged me for it even though it was their fault for having a mix-up on their end and then charged me a little more the next month. Living here has affected my mental health quite severely. My quality of life is declining and I don't see a point in staying here. I have to wear noise-canceling headphones daily so I don't have to listen to the noisy and disrespectful neighbors. It is annoying that I have to wear headphones all the time as it starts to hurt my ears. It has also caused me to isolate myself from my partner which isn't fair but the constant noise from upstairs is triggering and distracting. For the sake of your sanity and mental health DO NOT MOVE HERE! You would be better off anywhere else.

Outstanding community! Alisha our leasing consultant truly went above and beyond to help us find the perfect place to call home. I can't say enough great things about this place. If your on the lookout for a new apartment I highly suggest checking out Sygnii! You will not be disappointed.

very rude personnel, very small green area with landscape, almost zero amenities. I gave 1-star because apartments are relatively newer.

Forest Rim Apartments - Everywhere you look is green

Forest Rim Apartments

(33 reviews)

This is a in-depth and honest review of my time living at Forest Rim. I lived here for four years…read morein a second floor unit. I thought it was great at first, though you have to live here for a while for the cracks to begin to show in your first impression of the apartments. The Upsides: Appearance- The interiors of the apartments look beautiful at first glance. My unit was recently refurbished when I moved in, with fresh paint and refinished kitchen countertops, and I loved the vaulted ceilings and big closets. The installed washer and dryer were great, especially after years of using a laundromat. Management really cares about the appearance of the apartments, and they prioritize landscaping and maintaining the well kept exterior aesthetic of each of the buildings. Location- Forest Rim is in a convenient location and is a short walk from Nyberg Shopping Center, Browns Ferry Park, and the Tualatin River. There are several gas stations nearby, a Domino's Pizza, a McDonalds, Five Guys, Chipotle, Jamba Juice, and a 7/11 across the street that is open 24/7. The Downsides: The Price- Though this isn't unusual in the Portland Metro, the cost of rent is far too high for a one bedroom apartment. Though it was reasonable for the first year I lived here, it has increased by two hundred dollars a month in the years following with no increase in the quality of life of the apartments. Bad Neighbors- The apartments are poorly designed since each unit has paper thin walls. This means you're at the complete mercy of your neighbors. I've been woken up at 3am by my next door neighbors in a shouting match, and my downstairs neighbor loves to crank up his music with the bass on full blast, sometimes enough to feel the stereo through the floorboards. One of my neighbors was a drug dealer that was escorted off the property by police. How he got approved to live here, I'll never know. Although you are required to pick up after your dog, the rule isn't enforced and not everyone does, so you have to watch your step outside. Parking- The parking situation is terrible. If you don't want to pay the extra $50-100 a month for a reserved covered parking spot or a garage, you may want to be home by 7pm at the latest, otherwise you will be stuck walking. Sometimes this means you're walking from opposite side of the apartment complex, in the dark or the rain. I paid the extra amount to have reserved covered parking since I work a late shift job past 10pm, and several different vehicles started parking in my spot. After this became a problem over the course of several months, I tried calling the towing company that is advertised by the apartments, only to be told they no longer offer their services here. Smoking- If you are a non-smoker, you really don't want to live next to someone that does. Although the apartments are advertised as non-smoking, the rule isn't well enforced and because of the thin walls, your home can smell like a chain smoker lives there, just because of your neighbors. There's nothing worse than having allergies or having your home or clothes stink because your neighbors felt like smoking a bunch of joints or cheap cigars. Construction- The apartments may be periodically under construction, such as having someone replace the roof tiles or repaint the siding. There will be little announcement of this, as I woke up one morning to find a strange man on my outdoor balcony replacing my deck railing. The Summer Heat- The apartments have no AC, and since management bans the use of large window units, you're limited to using your personal small AC units. Every summer, even when keeping the windows closed and the blinds shut, my apartment would reach an indoor temperature of 80-90+ degrees with two AC units on full blast. The Ants- Another common sight in Oregon. Carpenter ants are an intrusive problem, and came out of the flooring, the cracks in the walls, and even the plug in sockets and light switches. Buying ant poison and ant traps are a must. Management- While they won't assault you with endless apartment inspections, the laid back attitude of the management office makes it seem like they don't actually care. When my car was broken into in the parking lot, when it was parked right by the front office no less, there was nothing they could do. Private security occasionally patrols the parking lot at night, but they never get out of their car and are ineffective at deterring petty theft. While Forest Rim Apartments look beautiful and may seem reasonable, and are honestly more like 2.5 stars out of 5, the negatives outweigh the positives. While very far from the worst apartments I've ever lived in, there are too many downsides to honestly recommend Forest Rim as a great home.

Not a small job, and an emergency one, because she LOVED running around the neighbors' yards. Lucian and his Dad braved the elements on extremely short notice, and built an entire new fence (mostly in the rain) for a great price. They gave me lots of upgrades, like unknotted wood, and thicker footers, and were incredibly fast and efficient. Its beautiful. That should have been enough, but - no - then my about six months later my back neighbors got their own Bernadoodle puppy, and the two dogs decided they didn't want a fence, so my pitty figured out how to pound her head against the boards until they bowed, then get her jaws on the wood, and tear through it. Lucian agreed that metal roof panels attached to the back fence would probably work (either that or an electric cattle fence), so he and his son came back out with the panels, cut them to fit, and spent a day attaching them, which - it turns out - is not as easy as it sounds. Again, quick service and excellent value. This family business, NW Modern, is fantastic, and I highly recommend them. And yes - it appears the metal roof panels are working!

Garbage cans placed in front of entrance doors. Really??! What a stinky way to welcome your guests. Furniture in the lounge disappeared and was replaced with ugly cloth chairs. Basically the aesthetics of the shared areas went down hill. By the way they still use old pictures of when Avenue 5 managed. The pros of living here were my rent did not increase,, the location was great and I still loved my apartment layout! The HUGE con was the loud upstairs neighbor.
