Terrene at the Grove used to feel much better managed. The previous manager, office staff, and onsite maintenance team were professional and easy to work with. Since the new community manager took over, the experience has become noticeably more adversarial. The issue that pushed me to write this review is the way management has singled me out over having a plastic water bottle and basic swim gear near the pool while I lap swim. I had been lap swimming for about three weeks before receiving the first email about this, and I was later warned that continued noncompliance could result in suspension of pool privileges and even lease violations. This is over a water bottle during lap swimming. The selective enforcement is especially frustrating because the pool area has had far more obvious issues. I have personally found items in the pool that had to be removed before I could swim, and the pool area is frequently used by unsupervised kids and teenagers, including people who do not appear to live at the property. I have also seen food and drinks around the pool and hot tub area, including alcohol. Yet I am the one being repeatedly threatened over a water bottle during morning or lunch lap swimming, often when I am the only person at the pool. Meanwhile, there have been much more serious property issues that deserved faster attention. The pool was recently closed after the water turned grey, and management stated that the monitoring system was not functioning properly. A staircase near my building crumbled underfoot and remained taped off and unusable for over a month before finally being replaced. I have also reported broken window seals causing moisture and mold concerns in my apartment; only after escalation to the parent company did it seem like these issues started receiving meaningful movement. I understand that apartment communities have rules and that pool regulations matter. But good property management requires judgment, consistency, priorities, and professionalism. Focusing aggressively on a resident's water bottle during lap swim while larger maintenance, safety, and habitability issues sit unresolved is not good management. The onsite maintenance crew and some office staff have historically been great. My criticism is directed at the current management approach, which has made the property feel less responsive, less reasonable, and less resident-friendly. read more

lived here for 5 years. I made sure that I spent two day's cleaning, repairing and calking walls and left the apartment immaculate because I wanted my $600 security deposit back. Instead I was charged $250.00 for replacing a bedroom rug that was five years old and the cheapest of quality and WAS not damaged. I was charged $150.00 for a kitchen faucet that was 12 years old and had a minor leak Because it was old as the building is 12 years old and appliances don't last forever! I got a bill for $45.00 was all was said and done although it was "Normal Wear And Tear". Yes under Jennifer Caruso 's management in 2022 it was a much better place to live. I wonder why so many apartments sit vacant ? I'm not going to go through the hassle to try and get my deposit back I just want people to be aware of what they're up against. read more

I have lived in Terrene for three years and I have no complaints. There is one issue I am experiencing . . . Sandra and Rudy are doing what they can to resolve it. It is sad when people refuse to follow policy they said they would when signing to do so. I haven't had occasion to interact with other staff, other than one maintenance person changing out lightbulbs. What I have to say about him is he was very efficient and finished almost before he started! Again, I have real appreciation for Sandra and Rudy in working with them. I've probably ever been in the pool was amazing the front desk staff are super nice, but I want to do a huge shout out to Peyton the maintenance guy. My microwave wasn't working and my water in my shower wasn't getting very hot, and he came to the apartment and got everything squared away, just signed another lease. Back to update that ironically, I now live in these apartments! I have lived here a few months now and am very pleased with the experience. Staff is still just as friendly as ever, and the gym equipment is just as nice and they even updated it with one of those fancy mirrors with work outs in it. My only complaint is the limited parking. Well, when I say limited, there plenty of parking. You just might not get a place super close to your apartment. Overall, I am VERY happy with my time here so far and could definitely stay for years. read more

I have given a five star review to Holland management the prior owners of this property they were amazing and treated everyone with respect! But now I have to say since the new management took over it is been a horrible situation for me and my family I would not recommend that anyone move into a place that this particular management company takes care of. They have changed the way our billing works. Our water and sewer is now billed separately. I've contacted the office a few times with no responses just to ask simple questions about what we're supposed to pay for our rent since our water bill is not included now. All I get is it should be in a postcard in the mail and if you don't pay we will evict you. How my supposed to pay if I don't know what my bill is? This place is terrible, not only do they charge you for every single thing at the end of your lease but they charge you normal wear and tear. They will even charge you for Lightbulbs! Oh and not only do they charge you for lightbulbs but you can't even replace the lightbulbs yourself because they are special outlets that wont work with normal lightbulbs, there for they can charge you whatever they want for bulbs (I got charged $65 for lightbulbs!) I gave them a $300 deposit which they kept, then they charged me for an extra $450 for normal things like a couple paint spots that take 30seconds to paint over. They charged me for blinds in all 3 rooms which were not bad at all! I am a very clean person and I know that I left the apartment in good condition! I get the cleaning fees, I'm not an unreasonable person so I get keeping the $300 deposit for cleaning and a couple paint spots but I do not agree with the $450 of charges. I always paid my rent and utilities on time and kept my apartment clean and in good condition. Renters beware!!!!!! Rylee was amazing throughout our move-in process, she was so attentive and replied quick to emails or calls. The ladies in the office seems nice and welcoming. The leasing manager came in quickly to verify what needed fixing upon our move-in and maintenance was even quicker... Property overall looks nice, can't wait to hit the pool when it's summer. The playground is probably the biggest complaint I have. Not really set up for younger kids and I really don't see kids using it a whole lot. read more

These people they seem nice but will give u a 50 page lease. Reading this lease is not optional they will make mistakes like they did to me several times. Ultimately if u make one mistake they will rip u off. They really get u on the utilities. Each unit shares the expenses so this works out if you r a big family but I was just one person and I was paying 80 a month. I know people that pay less than that in their houses. But u pay for what u use on the electric. Also u r next to the highway so u may get lots of noise depending on where u rent. No AC so once April hits it starts getting warm. read more

I recently moved into this complex and to say the management is amazing would be an understatement! Jennifer and Rylee were sooo sweet and welcoming! I previously have had terrible experiences with apartment managements but Rylee and Jennifer were so helpful, supportive and their communication was the best I've ever experienced from an apartment manager/leasing agent. (Not too educated in the technical terms lol) I unfortunately had my next living arrangement fall through super last minute and was so stressed to find a new place and both Rylee and Jennifer shared my sense of urgency to get approved and moved in with the short time frame I had. They truly helped take so much stress off me with their genuine care, communication and support. The apartment itself is absolutely stunning and I'm so proud to be apart of this new community! I can't stress how grateful I am for both Rylee and Jennifer and how they made me feel seen and heard throughout this whole process! This is a beautiful community and the office staff are consistently friendly and helpful. We have lived here for nearly a year and couldn't be happier with our decision. They are extremely pet friendly and the office even stocks free dog treats for friendly pet visitors! From time to time there are a few irresponsible pet owners that do not pick up after their animals but management seems to do their best to identify these owners and attempt to correct this behavior. The maintenance staff have been great and respond quickly to requests. We had a couple minor issues that needed fixed when we first moved in and they made sure to get them all taken care of within a day. We've never had a problem with parking here. The rates for covered parking spots are reasonable and they don't have any predatory towing practices (unlike other nearby complexes). If you have more than one vehicle its a good idea to rent at least one covered spot. This way you are always guaranteed a parking place for one vehicle and will have little problem finding an open parking spot for the other. There is a maintained dog park that is all season (gravel) and there are plenty of nearby parks if you'd prefer grass for your pup. The location is close to I-5 which has great benefits for commuting but depending on the time of day you may here some of the road noise. Just a short walk away you'll find the movie theater, multiple parks, the library, Bullwinkle's, grocery store, and shopping so lots of good entertainment options. The office has a nice pool that is well maintained for summer fun! read more

This complex is a complete fucking joke, its run by young people who don't know what they are doing. As a result you will want to make sure you read over your lease or your deposit amount will be wrong and it will be your fault for not caorreting it. Next on this wonderful journey here is the nighbors whish let me tell you are a nightmare. We are actually moving because we feel unsafe here. First our downstairs nighbor literall is standing out side for a good hour looking up at our window, then conveniently sees you as your leaving. Next they escalate to leaving a threating note about noise which we never got a call once from management. Then they decide to up their game and either burn a Whole bunch of charcoal or poured just bottles and bottles of ligther fluid, because I walk in from work and it literally smells like ligther fluid is all over my apartment. This happend TWO separate nights both which resulted in us having to evacuate because we felt unsafe breathing that and what do they do? Jack shit! Just a slap on the wrist. Next issue good luck trying to sleep in any day especially the weekend because toyr ears will be over joyed to hear the annoying screams of children literally from 7 am to 5pm and what does management do NOTHING! Now on too parking good luck if you work two jobs or have a life because after 2pm your shit out of luck for a spit unless your one of the few chosen ones that is actually lucky enough to get a spot. But you come to find out some people have TWO spots and a garage! Now where is the fairness in that?! Plus even if your handicap (like me) you will still be on a "waiting list for over 5 months with no response. Even with the open handicap people who don't wven have stickers park there. Now the surroundings be careful with your pets both of my dogs have become violently ill and have req hospitalization due to environmental causes. Which they have only been around here. Next the wonderful noise of the freeway, you will get to hear the beautiful noise of the freeway 24/7 no matter where you are located. Over all if you wabt to pay out of your ass and have to either rush home from work and not go anywhere the rest of the night or risk walking a mile to your car, and deal with wonderful creepy potentially life threating neighbors this is the place for you. read more

I love it here, and hope you will too! From lease to move in to having lived here a little over four months now, it has been a great experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. My few maintenance requests have been addressed immediately (always less than 24 hour wait). I see maintenance being done all the time around the grounds, so it is kept looking nice. The location is close to school and shopping for me, which has been a real plus. It's also quiet here. My unit runs parallel to I-5, so I was pleasantly surprised at how rarely I hear the highway traffic sounds. It is also rare to hear the neighbors, passers-by, or dogs outside. The apartment matched my expectations from the similar units I saw before move-in. It was clean, fresh smelling, and came with high quality appliances. The pictures on the website were true to form. There is only the matter of parking, that other online reviews have mentioned. My remarks regarding parking are thus: Yes, parking can be a challenge in the later part of the day if you have not paid for a carport or a garage. But, it is still doable. I've never had to walk more than a few buildings extra to get home at night. The streets are well lit, so I didn't feel uncomfortable with the walk. I just do shopping with that in mind, and so have a little cart that I can load up with groceries and take up stairs, if I don't get a spot right next to my building. Overall, I feel very safe here, and have been very happy since moving in. I definitely recommend Terrene! read more

We rented at Terrene due to the size of the apartments. Very roomy with the 4 bedroom apartment. We are enjoying the space however we find that the managers are quick to collect the rent but not very prompt with taking care of issues. The apartments are not built as they claim they are, they even explained and showed how the construction was built for noise. Not true you can hear every step the tenants above us take / walk, complained no resolution from management. Dog owners do not pickup after animals would help if there were more waste stations instead of one. Management does not replace smoke alarms from empty apartments so you listen to smoke alarms. Management charges for light bulb replacement, they put light fixtures in that most tenants cannot replace themselves. No enforcement of dogs on leashes, our dog was attacked and a friends dog was also attacked at the dog park which is not maintained, we won't take our dog there. Moving as soon as our lease is up. New Management is awful they do not know how to work with tenants, they say they will handle something and they never do. read more

We loved living here. The apartment was cute and cozy. The electric fireplace was a fantastic touch and finished off the living room nicely. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed the complex. It was clean, quiet, lovely, and best of all non-smoking. The office staff was always very friendly and made everyone who came in the door feel at home. The only complaint I have and the reason they didn't get 5 stars is they constructed the units with sub par materials that got easily damaged such as the walls and flooring. But in contrast the appliances were higher end and worked great. I lived there 13 months and was sorry to have to move due to a job loss. I would recommend Terrene at the Grove to anyone. read more

At first I was really excited to move here they seemed lovely but when we moved in June 2016 the apartment smelled like a very strong lemon scent and it gave us all bad head ache our family members helping us move in told us it was flee treatment in our carpet... well we find out the next day the apartment had flees still we woke up with flee bites all over our body that was not fun at all and there was dog hair and some stains in the carpet we complained but we were like that for like 2 weeks but that lemon smell didn't go away for like almost 2 months! Well we never owned a pet at all! Or brought one in the house when we lived there we moved out June 2017 and we finally got our bill 2 weeks ago and they send us a letter telling us they need to replace the carpet and we are being charged for it keep in mind they never replaced it from the previous renter they just cleaned it and the main reason is for pet urine like hello we never had a pet before so we went to go talk to them and they don't want to do nothing about it they still want us to pay even though they didn't even compensate us for the inconvenience when we first moved in or give us like a discount for the first month! They just want to get money out of you and management sucks don't recommend these apartment there was always dog poop outside the people would never it pick it up so disappointed read more
