There's a ton more, but we're trying to be "succinct" here. =) I half joke that Elizabeth was not only our officiant but also my therapist in the time leading up to our wedding since I was a ball of anxiety planning everything. Elizabeth was EVER so patient and responsive with my flurry of nonstop emails and questions, as well as providing constant reassurance which I know was far beyond her job description. Elizabeth really goes above and beyond, not only providing a huge variety of personalized scripts for your wedding (if you so choose), professionalism of making the legal process very easy, but she also takes the time out of her personal life to get to know you as an individual and as a couple, so that if you choose, you do not feel like you are getting married by a stranger, but rather an old family friend. Thank you so much for being THE best officiant, friend, and guidance for us in one of the more stressful times! P.S. Backing it up a bit, I used to work in the wedding industry and had seen my fair share of wedding officiants, but Elizabeth always stood out as not only being a great, charismatic speaker - but she's so genuine. Surprisingly when my day came though, we looked elsewhere for officiants first. I know, I know - stupid, right? Well, we were getting married in Palm Springs and thought we should try to hire someone local - and yeesh, there were some horror stories there. (Almost literally with one lady who I swear could have doubled for either Fire Marshall Bill or The Cryptkeeper - but smothered in perfume.) Then we thought about the possibility of having someone we know do it, but that thought passed quickly. Having seen a bajillion weddings, it doesn't always go according to plan having a pal do it. So, I thought, even though the wedding is in Palm Springs, I'm gonna email Elizabeth. I'm soooo glad I did. We didn't have many requirements for our ceremony, and while we didn't want it to be 45 minutes long, we also didn't want it to be 5 minutes long. (I think we ended up at a good 15 or so.) We told her we didn't want any talk of God, but also nothing too hippie dippy either. She always responded immediately to emails and gave us lots of ideas for not only readings, but special touches and the order of the whole thing. She even suggested this thing where the rings were passed through the bridal party to be sorta "blessed" with well wishes - we did it and, while it may sound cheesy writing it here - it definitely brought a tear to my eye. Oh! I didn't even mention all the other stuff - like how she filed all the paperwork for us, and how she had our vows and readings all printed up on very nice paper (vellum overlay even!), and even gave us a nice CD as a wedding gift. I was thoroughly impressed. We just loved how Elizabeth "got" us, and was super helpful in making our ceremony so special to us.

The wedding was only 3 weeks away when I called her (at my venue's recommendation) and thankfully she was available. It was meant to be! Every interaction was professional and personable. She was the perfect fit for us because she could perform a non-denominational ceremony as well as take care of all legal forms. The process was so easy. We met up, she listened to our input, we exchanged a couple of emails, and she created a beautiful, personal ceremony that totally reflected who we are as a couple. Debbie was everything we wanted in a wedding officiant. We called several officiants, many of which…read morewere charging more than we were able to and wanting to pay. Debbie was the most affordable of the bunch! But that by no means diminishes the return on our investment. When I first took a call with Debbie, she was very easy to talk to, and was already providing value even within our icebreaker conversation. She recommended a caterer and a florist before we had even signed the contract, and we ended up using the caterer. From the onset, Debbie was easily accessible through text and email. We first spoke to her by phone on November 8, and she emailed the contract over immediately. We finally booked her on November 21st, without a drop of pressure from her, as our wedding officiant on December 31, 2023. Upon signing the contract, she immediately emailed us a questionnaire for my wife and I to fill out, from which she would build our custom ceremony. About a week later, she gave us a deadline for the questionnaire; at a time when so many things are demanding of so much time -deadlines are crucial. All the while we would text about random questions such as who traditionally stands where? and how long our ceremony and/or sand ceremony should be? We texted on multiple occasions leading up to, and after the wedding. By the time the ceremony came, I felt like I had gotten to know Debbie, so on the day of the ceremony when she arrived early, everything felt natural and comfortable. Debbie spoke with authority and confidence. Just as I was personally beginning to feel the stress of our guests' arrivals, Debbie immediately surveyed the layout, and directed herself straight to our witnesses (our mothers) and my day of "coordinator" so to speak (my mom), to get the paperwork out of the way. Debbie managed to talk to my wife and I individually, both of our mothers (to help signal for the processional), both of our fathers (to walk us to the altar), and probably the DJ (processional music) to make sure things went as smoothly as possible. As soon as the ceremony began, the nerves began to subside. We were in awe of being able to finally take in what we (my wife and I) had accomplished. We had executed the most beautiful backyard wedding ambiance and decor, and we were wed by the most amazing and professional wedding officiant. Debbie held our vow books and even passed us tissues, and held a mini trashcan for us to drop our tissues into. We are grateful for Debbie, and the way she made us feel every step of the way. The sand ceremony was such a fun part of our ceremony, and we love the fact that we get to look our sand ceremony keepsake jar on our shelf and reminisce about our wedding day.
