We hired them for my wedding which we just had on 9/9/18!! Steven Chacon and his wife Liz was so wonderful they took care of everything they made sure stuff was taking care and they were on top of it, they both made not only my husband and I comfortably but my parents as well. What impressed us about Steve and Liz is that they did not pressure us to sign a contract on our first meeting. He asked us for a wish list and then provided a Proposal that my wife and I were able to review and make a decision without the pressure. At our first meeting, they gave a presentation that actually opened our eyes on things we did not even think about that was needed at our reception. Liz was our Wedding Consultant and she also officiated our wedding. The Ceremony was personalized and reflected us. Her script touched people in a way that there were tears in the eyes of people that we least expected. Our vision for our wedding was for our guests to have fun and not be bored. They did just that. Steve gave us a Grand Entrance that represented us. The introductions to all the special dances and events reflected our personality. We wanted un-traditional and that is exactly what we got. When it came down to the dance, Steve stayed within our song requests and with the combination of his expertise the dance floor was packed all night up to the last song! We did not want it to end! A portion of our reception was bilingual and we loved how it transitioned We also hired their photo booth; they customized our template by incorporating our engagement picture in it. I highly recommend that you get the scrapbook service. It was so much fun to be able to see all the pictures of our guests having fun and reading the great messages, something we will treasure forever. I really wanted a monogram but did not know that it was going to work out because the Venue did not have a lot of wall space, however, Steve found the perfect spot over our Sweetheart table. While I was not the bride, I was helping my cousin with her last minute," just moved back to the West Coast, now engaged, and getting married to my Prince" wedding; she was a busy Physician and I, her cousin with the Public Relations background, who helped with accounts for Fiesta Broadway ( which serves 100s of thousands at a huge DTLA festival) figured, " I got this." Seriously, I along with our other bestie cousin, figured we could manage a LARGE close to 500 people wedding all on our own; no Catholic church booked, no venue booked nothing; no brides dress, no bridesmaids dresses and not to mention opinions of many friends and family - we were seriously getting no where, yet were on a time crunch for a June wedding. Logically, panic sets in.. now what?! We tried and failed on our own, finally through a good friend heard of Liz and her wedding planning and coordinating magic..then to learn that Steve was also an amazing DJ and MC. It was a miracle and a no brainer! Luckily, the bride was convinced and agreed to secure Liz and Steve for her wedding. I cannot even begin to mention the amount of barriers this pending wedding had from the start! Liz went ABOVE and BEYOND her contracted duties to make sure the wedding actually occurred without a hitch and that a church was secured. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. As I wrote this review I see he used our pic labeled monogram and up lighting at the montage hotel. He omitted Juana la Cubana his first song of choice at this Beverly hills wedding... Make sure you take the time to fill out a do not play list as they clearly have no sense of appropriateness... My wife and I hired Steve and Liz can you say bait n switch?. When we first went there, they printed and we signed a contract for $1000.00 just to get a call later telling us it was going to be $1200 something. My wife is Mexican yes but "Juana la Cubana" shouldn't have been the very first song he choose to play. I suggest you ask him to provide a list of what he is going to play after you go online and submit your list of songs you like to avoid this stupidness from happening to you. The lighting was cool and quality wasn't too bad, nothing to boast about. No personal level of service in what felt like this strictly business only transaction when it came to us. My wife spent hours making a list only for him to not play 90% of what's on the list... I didn't expect him to write us a card or anything but the whole experience was very impersonal! read more

I booked Steve Chacon Weddings for their photobooth services for my daughter's Sweet 16 last week. I am so glad I did! I met with Liz to discuss our theme and gave her the color palette. She designed the backdrop for photos exactly what I had in mind. When they set up the photobooth at my party, I was delighted with the variety and the creativity in all the props. I was very impressed with the quality of the scrapbook she had made for all the pictures. The quality of the pictures was so impressive. All my guests complimented on the photobooth and how good they all looked! The camera even captured the highlight and contour of my beautiful guests!! I would definitely hire them for my next event. One thing I am so grateful for, I was busy and Liz called me over and told me I didn't take any photos with my husband, son and daughter. Let me start off by saying that if you want your wedding vision to come to life, hire Steve and Liz. If you want to enjoy your wedding and not have to worry about every little detail, hire Steve and Liz. They are an amazing couple that work together like the cogs of a wheel. My daughter KD and her husband Randy just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary yesterday. Looking back at the photos of that amazing day, I was reminded that I promised to write a review. KD had a particular vision when she planned her rockabilly themed wedding. I basically just stepped back and let her do her thing. Liz was there through the entire journey making suggestions to KD. When I made suggestions, it was mom nagging her. When Liz made suggestions, it was professional advice that my daughter listened too. Honestly, I didn't know why KD even needed a wedding planner. How hard could it be to do it yourself? Like I said, Liz was there every step of the way, but on the day of the rehearsal, Liz and Steven were already there when I showed up. KD got married at Crafted in San Pedro. It is a huge, restored warehouse. When you walk in there, it is completely empty. Liz and KD were conferring about where the ceremony was going to be, how the chairs and the alter (that KD had created) were to be placed. Where chairs and tables for dining would be. Where the bar would go. I was having trouble envisioning all of this. When I walked in the venue on the day of the wedding, I was completely blown away! The Chacon's, including their daughters, had been there since early in the morning. Everything was set up and looked just beautiful. I am pretty good at planning parties and I thought I could handle a lot of the details for KD and help out. The reality is that the bride and the mother of the bride have so much going on there isn't time to handle these fine little details. I didn't even realize that until the day of the wedding. I was so grateful for their help. The Chacon's are always improving their skills and services by taking classes and buying equipment to make their wedding/party planning skills even better. One memory that will forever be etched in my mind was the story that Steve told of how KD and Randy met. There were details in that story that I didn't even know! I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time. I looked over at my husband, who has been KD's stepfather since she was four, and there were tears running down his cheeks! I loved the stories that Steven told of each of wedding party members. They were hilarious and had the entire room laughing! It was the little touches like that (that I never expected), that made the wedding so memorable. When it came time to clean up, friends and family were asking how they could help. I went up to my daughter and asked what the clean-up plans were. She said to me, "Mom, please I am trying to enjoy my wedding!" I turned to Liz and she handled everything! We filled up four trucks belonging to friends and family. Liz that made sure all the leftover food, the kegs of beer, the wine and the decorations was packed up all due to Liz's expert experience. Steve continued to play music, and KD and Randy continued to dance and enjoy every last minute to their wedding day. After everything was cleaned up, we still had to wait for the tables and chairs to be picked up. My feet were aching, I still had to get my mother-in-law (who was visiting from Michigan) home. I was exhausted, Liz came up to me and said, "Go home. We will stay until everything is picked up." I could have kissed her! I know her and Steven were equally exhausted, but they stayed and handled it for me. And that is why you hire a wedding planner! I have known Steve and Liz for over 26 years or so. Steve was the DJ at my wedding 18 years ago. Liz was not a wedding planner then, but she helped me with the details of my wedding, which were no where as detailed as my daughter's wedding. They have known KD since she was born. They were so happy to have been an important part of her wedding. I could not have been more pleased with their help. They really know what they are doing.
