After recently moving from San Diego to Asheville I found my dog struggling and found it was a collapsed trachea and to take him home for palliative care. I found out on a Thursday and was told to take him home and provide steroids and painkillers. I was in shock, and didn't know what to do. His quality of life was my main concern. Both my daughter and I arrived individually at the same site based on reviews and meeting our need to let Sluggo go in a loving comfortable way for him. That Sunday morning, Dr cat came over, and told us exactly what would happen. She gave him treats to help him feel good, and then a shot that takes 15 minutes to really relax and help my baby sleep, but still could hear me. I was able to look into his soulful eyes before he went to sleep and honor him for all that he gave me, comforted me and his amazing friendship and thanked him for his abundance of love. She placed an IV after he was sleeping and snoring in true pug fashion. I spoke to him and told him it was ok to leave, thanked him from the bottom of my heart and said goodbye. I nodded to Dr. Cat to administer the final shot and shortly after, my baby was gone. He left peacefully under a big beautiful maple tree on a lovely October day with the birds chirping. I will never forget the care Dr. Cat gave my best friend. She was soft spoken, caring and compassionate. She put his paw into a clay form for me, and I will always have him and his ashes with me. Highly recommend this for any pet owner. So peaceful for our loving friends and companions, and made a hard day a blessing of peace and thankfulness. Laps of Love fails to inform you that this can be common practice. I'm leaving one stars based on the after process. The euthanasia was very peaceful, then my dog was taken, and now no one can tell me whether he's been cremated or not, and it's been 4 days. I paid for a private cremation, but unbeknownst to us, your beloved pet is then transferred to Heavenly Paws in Knoxville with no tracking or details provided except an email two days after euthanasia, stating it could be up to 3 weeks, and ending with if you haven't received the remains by November 1, please give us a call. This system is beyond horrifying. We were told 7 - 10 days to receive his remains. Just a side note our son passed in March, and we received his remains within 24 hours. I'm not certain what could possibly take even 7 days. Has our beloved pet been cremated, or is he sitting in a cooler. We're beyond horrified. I'm aware that most of the bad reviews are based on cost. The cost is high, but you are informed of cost prior to services. I think it's more important to notify people of the process. As we are now in limbo, and were unaware and totally uninformed of the after process, NEVER were we told about Heavenly Paws. My husband and I both thought that they took care of everything.

From the moment they arrived, they treated Oliver -- and me -- with such compassion and respect. They explained each step with care and gave us all the time we needed. I was able to look in on her during her daycare time via cam. The facility is very clean, with indoor and outdoor play areas. Staff are super friendly. They are associated with a local Veterinary for any emergencies.

I knowing it could damage her stomach, told my neighbor who was also horrified. So we took her immediately to Fetch Animal hospital in Greenville and they surgically removed it for a few thousand dollars! When I went back to Sandy Springs Animal clinic the vet took NO RESPONSIBILITY and didn't apologize but only said that it was the first time in his career that this ever happened. He said he has no money to cover the cost for the tube he left in my dogs esophagus/stomach That I had to pay for his mistake!! Very very disappointed and now in debt because of his mistake!
