On days when my son is struggling or just not in the right headspace, Nick adjusts the session accordingly. What impresses me most is how he explains concepts. More than once I've found myself thinking how every kid would benefit from a teacher like him. Beyond his talent as an educator, he's also an incredibly generous business owner. We first met him after winning a free month of tutoring through our school's silent auction. The value we have received this past month has gone above and beyond my expectations. I followed every piece of advice, completed all the assigned work, and put in the extra effort outside of sessions. I'm a hard worker--I don't expect results without putting in the work. But after all that time and money, my score did not improve at all. The tutors were friendly, but the strategies they taught me were no different from what I had already learned on my own. There was no personalized approach, no real effort to target my weaknesses, and honestly, it felt like I was just going through the motions in every session. For a program that promises score improvements, this was a complete waste of time and money. If you're looking for real results, I strongly suggest finding another program. Elite Tutoring Place did nothing for me except drain my wallet and leave me frustrated. The owner will respond to this message claiming I never attended Elite Tutoring Place in Wheaton as he did in my google review. Regardless, I did attend Elite Tutoring Place in Wheaton, and I find it concerning that he claims not to have any record of me. I showed up, did the work, and stuck to the program as instructed, yet my score did not improve at all. Nick- Instead of dismissing my experience, maybe take accountability and consider how blaming the student for not following the program correctly when I did everything asked of me is not a great look. Instead of denying my attendance, maybe focus on improving your program so future students actually see results.

The focus shifts between learning how to make and play with friends, learning letters, numbers, shapes, colors, etc, and how to respect and act in the traditional classroom! We are sad, this year, to have not been able to finish out the year with the preschool program due to COVID-19, but have absolutely loved every minute of every day that our kids have attended and adore the growth mindset that the teachers use and the kids leave with. We had high expectations when my child joined GradePower. Reviews and parent recommendations were…read moreexcellent. Unfortunately, for us, the experience was not great. The first few weeks, my child was provided a workbook that was two grades below him on accident. After they discovered this mistake, they quickly moved him to the correct book. However, GradePower did not notify me of this nor did they attempt to make amends for this error. My child never came home with any workbook or items to review once he left their facility. After several months, I asked that GradePower focus on more of the items that my child struggled with versus the items he was already good at. Alex, the owner, agreed, but then the teachers, I feel, still did what was easiest which was not to challenge my child on the difficult items. I never received any feedback from the teachers directly. Unless I asked my child, I did not know what they were working on at any given time. Alex was always available to discuss my child, which was great. He was professional at all times. The front office person was also always pleasant. I think this program does work for the many who reviewed GradePower with high marks. I also think a student who is eager for additional support, may benefit from this program. Unfortunately for us, overall it was a negative experience. As a last comment: I was also disappointed that GradePower continued to require masks after all mandates at businesses and schools had dropped this requirement. When asked about a timeline for them to be "optional", the response was that it would be a very long time. Alex said if it was up to him, they would never come off.
