The small dog park would make a decent sized Big Dog Park in most cities. There is a nice big picnic area right before you enter the dog park. There is a nice double-gated concrete entry area that seems to get flooded when it rains. Two different water facilities as well as multiple picnic tables all around and plenty of poop bag dispensers and trash cans. It looks like during the summer the bathrooms may actually be open. You park at the bottom of the hill and you have to make a little walk up the hill but as long as you don't have too much difficulty you should make it! It doesn't get steep until the very end. The fences were nicely upkept so I (a protective dog mom) felt safe letting my mini dachshund off leash in the small dog area --also because today no other dogs were there. Take off that leash and let 'em run!…read more This is a great, and big, park for your dogs. They have three, or four, separate enclosures for the dogs to run. They're also categorized by the size of your dog or they have the big open section for any dogs. There are some obstacle type fixtures for the dogs to climb on and a few trees here and there for them to sniff around. There aren't many seating areas, but there are some and there are some covered seating areas as well for dog humans to sit and watch their furry friends running around and making new friends. It's a bit of a winding road to get there, but follow the signs and you'll find it. It's nice and quiet and your dogs are surely to have a good time. A few notes: - Occasionally they block out sections to allow the grass to grow. This is great and ensures there's always some nice green grassy areas to let your pups run. They take very good care of the grounds as well. - They have double entrances so you can reduce the chances of a breakout. - Keep your dog on a leash until you get into an actual enclosure. It doesn't matter if your perfect dog would never run. Others may. Also, don't be so sure that your perfectly trained pooch won't make a dash for a new excited friend they've never met. That overstimulation can be unpredictable when around a group of other dogs. - They have some drinking fountains for dogs as well. Bring your own bowl if you want to reduce any disease transmissions. - There are poop-bags available and garbage cans for your full bags. Your dog will poop. It's that simply. Bring your own bags if you have them. If you don't, there should be some there. - Clean up after your dog! I shouldn't have to explain this but you need to remember, dogs are running around here and so are their humans. Sure, you may miss one here or there, but for the sake of everyone else, try to clean up after your dog. If you're too good to do that, stay home. It prevents a mess as well as diseases. - If your dog doesn't play well with others, stay home or leave. We literally were coming in once and some people who were already there had a bit of a rambunctious dog. The dogs owner said, "you might want to be careful...he doesn't do well with other dogs". I looked at that as someone who is fatally lactose intolerant walking into an ice cream shop. Don't be ridiculous. This is a public dog park. If Cujo doesn't play well with others, YOU find somewhere else to go. Wiggly Field is free. Let's keep it that way. Take care of this gem and it will take care of your four legged little buddies. Would I go back? Yes. We go here as often as possible. Our little one loves it. She doesn't get to be around too many dogs so this is always a good time.

The park has benches and some shelters for shade. Some agility equipment for the dogs to play on and climb over is here and it's in good shape. They also have plastic "mutt mitt" dispensers and owners are expected to pick up after their dog. The signs show the rules which include a requirement for current vaccinations and a collar. The owners must remain with the dogs and carry a leash though of course the dogs are off leash. It is a huge, open space that has an old run down water tower in the center that has been painted by Cincinnati Art Works. The mural features a lot of bright colors and of course, pups. There is a water area for drinks, benches for you to sit while your pup plays and plenty of trash cans and doggie bags for easy clean-up. This is a dog park you have to pay to have membership too, which personally I love, that way you know all the dogs are up to date on shots, flea medicine, vaccines and (hopefully) tend to not be aggressive. That being said they are still dogs. To purchase the membership you must go to Julifs Park in Anderson to get membership before you can even check it out because it is locked and gated. And for good reason, members are very good about not giving out the passcode to even not only their dogs but all dogs in the dog park safe. If you live in Anderson, you also get a discount to this park so if you're looking for some social interaction for your doggo - head to Kellogg Dog Park!

Outside, the park is incredible. The trails are extremely well maintained, both the wooded paths and the paved ones, making it perfect for an easy walk or a hike. There's also an outdoor fitness trail that I loved. It has different workout stations along the way, and it's actually really fun, not just functional. It's a great way for both kids and adults to be active. There's also a huge playground and a mini water park area for kids, plus accessible bathrooms and good seasonal amenities. It's very family friendly without feeling overcrowded. If you're into disc golf, this place is a gem. There's a large disc golf course, and they even sell discs and gear right inside the nature center. Another thing worth mentioning is how amazing Great Parks of Hamilton County is overall. They offer so many programs like beginner fishing, guided hikes, plant swaps, art workshops, amphibian hunts, and even owl pellet dissections. Not all of these are specific to this park, but many are hosted here, and it really adds to how special the experience is. Overall, this is an extremely pleasant place to spend time. I decided to hike the Gorge Trail, which was very do-able, and ambitiously hoped to even follow the trail around the lake. Oooooops... There is NO LAKE, for the moment, anyway, as they've emptied it for maintenance (!!) Wasn't able to hike around the (dry) lake, as I think that trail was closed, but no worries, I headed back on the Gorge Trail (took a zillion pictures along the way, it's GORGEous!!) and made it back just in time to attend the Hispanic Festival taking place right outside the visitor's center. Looks like there's LOTS of community activities offered here, and it's a GREAT area resource!! Beautiful scenery, some waterfalls apparently, once the rain returns, picnic areas and multiple fun playgrounds for the kiddies, nicely marked trails, TONS of community events, and so much more!!
