My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Teacher Lawrence for about 8 months now. Teacher Lawrence is personable, patient, and has an enthusiastic attitude during his lessons which makes my daughter feel extremely comfortable and excited about piano. Most importantly, he communicates and explains the lessons very well and thoroughly, and can quickly adapt when my daughter is struggling to understand a concept. With the pandemic, he has been extremely flexible and we did online sessions for about 6 months. I was initially worried about the efficacy of online lessons but it ended up working out really well! Teacher Lawrence was still able to teach effectively, and even recorded clips of the pieces she needed to practice so she could reference them easily. During the summer, the music school had an online music summer camp which Teacher Lawrence taught along with Teacher Jasmine. Both teachers were so nice and enthusiastic about teaching music! The kids learned about different type of instruments, and even built their own instruments out of everyday items. For the music camp finale, they used the different instruments they built to make sound effects for a story. It was a big hit for my daughter! My daughter has learned so much in the past 8 months, starting as an absolute beginner to being able to sight read music and play with both hands. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend both Teacher Lawrence and Teacher Jasmine for music theory & instrument lessons. read more

Both our kids have been taking piano lessons with Lawrence and this is their second year with him. My kids like Lawrence's classes a lot and find him interesting, fun and relatable as a teacher. He has always shown patience and enthusiasm towards his students. He makes it easy for my kids to stay engaged and that's not easy to do with kids in elementary school. When our kids were taking in-person lessons with him before the pandemic, they always had fun in his classes and learned a lot, especially when he played music pieces with them together. Now that the lessons have moved online, Lawrence continues to demonstrate his dedication and devotion with our kids. He has a state of art of equipment set up. After each lesson, he would send us notes and video recordings on how to play this week's songs.
