If you realize you're in a fake version of this market, that's not the Symphony, that's a Sym-phoney. Pretty good Market as far as markets go if you want to get some cheap water and other goodies. A lot cheaper than some of the other places around here and not nearly as much of a rip-off as a lot of convenience stores in Boston and especially New York City. Really nice management. Helpful in finding things. And they carry a good amount of products that you may need. I feel like the prices are better than Wollastons. I only wish they carried more produce. They are currently under construction so hopefully that means more extensive selection. They also cater well to drunk and belligerent individuals. Great spot for munchies, although they stopped carrying Jalepeno Poppers which is a huge disappointment. Best part of this place is the cats that approach you if you come during the day. Symphony Market may seem like it's a no frills place- which it really is- but it has every essential that you need (or that I need)... like, laundry detergent and cat food. The staff are really nice, and put up with crazy homeless people and/or drunk individuals that seem to frequent this place on a regular. Just the other night I walked here to grab cat food and this woman was making Symphony Market her stage, belting out Little Richard's "tutti frutti" for the clerks. I think they stopped her with a very polite but well put "ok, you made your point" haha it was gold! So this place is both entertaining and useful. Great location, just on the corner of Huntington and Gainsborough... and next to the liquor store, so you really can't go wrong. read more

Arrived in Boston after a long day of sun burning my cheeks in Maine (little know fact ~ you can still burn your cheeks if it's cloudy watch out people) and being the metabolic nightmare that I am was starving and needed to sustain myself with the classic dinner of Ben and Jerry's and mozza sticks. I love this place, I actually saw a man throw a shopping cart at a cashier, Zuhair i believe, and he handled it very professionally and calmly. They've a wide selection of good and are much cheaper than Symphony mart a couple blocks away. Very kind workers except for the bald man. Was accused of stealing. Manager was an asshole. I've never been accused of stealing anywhere, anything, and never have actually stolen anything. Have been a great customer for years. Now, I'll never go back there again, unless that asshole manager is fired. Not to mention that they sell some rip-offs of candies (like kit-kats) that are international, so don't by those, they're gross. Cashiers don't know what products are behind the counter well, and can often barely understand you. They frequently don't offer bags either. Honestly, why would you go here? Plan ahead- buy in bulk, order from amazon if needed, amazon even does grocery delivery if you need it, there's no reason to go here. I used to go here to get Neurowaters, glad I got introduced to it there but now I'll buy in bulk, it's overpriced there anyway compared to Star Market. read more

AKA BEVERAGE HEAVEN! When I head out for lunch I usually run up Huntington and only have about a half an hour or less to grab my food and head back to the office. Lots of the places along the strip here have a meek beverage selection -- one type of smoothie drink -- but not the other. Gatorade but not Power Water. Pepsi products but not Coke -- you get the idea! Well The Symphony Market has it all! The an entire wall of the store is dedicated to refrigerated beverage goodness AND they have 3 other coolers around the store! They carry RockStar and RedBull, Nantucket Nectar, Ondwalls, Honest Tea, Lipton Tea, Gatorade, Powerade and a bunch or products I generally don't see other places! I have not actually checked out too much else in the store, but I love that they have a whole line of Orbit gum and it seems to carry a lot more items that your typical convince store. Hookah pipes and tobacco products anyone? Yes, its not nearly as much as a real market, but shelves are stacked high with items and pretty good selection for something open till 2am! I went to Emerson and live in the Back Bay and none of the convenience stores near me have ever had this good a selection! Its also the perfect place to stop before a picnic because they even sell whiffle bats sets!! read more

I feel pretty damn weird leaving a review for a convenience store, but I feel compelled to because of how good this market was to me during the recent blizzard in Boston. Symphony Market literally saved my ass. They stayed open 24-hours during the entire blizzard and somehow managed to stay fully stocked. I was thoroughly impressed not only by this, but also by the fact that the day after the blizzard when I called every store in Boston looking for a shovel (including target, CVS, home depot, and true value hardware ) I found that no one in the city of Boston had shovels left except for symphony freaking market. Even before the storm I loved this place because they have a big, diverse variety ( QUEST BARS even!!) of items and awesome incredibly friendly staff members. I love this place and feel incredibly fortunate that they are only a walk away from my apartment! read more

What? Huh?? $4.79 for a tub of Haagen-Dazs? And I thought Whole Foods is a rip-off! Being lazy walking to Trader Joes (where you can get 2 tubs for $5), I decided to drop in here and get a pint to quickly subdue my sweet craving. Knowing that the price will be somewhat higher, I estimated that it'll be the same as Whole Foods at $3.79. Boy was I wrong, and very suprised. What gets me about this place is that they didn't label the price, neither on the shelves nor on the containers; which is why I will never return here again. A lot nicer than the 24, although not open 24 hours a day (I think only til 2am), this place has won me over as a customer. The employees are great, and the owner himself works there, so you know he takes pride in his business (I think he just opened a deli down near the corner of Hemenway and Boylston, too). You can find more of a selection here than Store24, like Gardenburger dinners, which I haven't even seen in Stop & Shop. Overpriced, but so are all convenience stores. read more

I love this shore. I'm half Lebanese and they carry all of the middle eastern delights I remember from my childhood. Halawa, mamool, pickled turnips, rose syrup and ajvar. I am there almost every morning and the men behind the counter are very pleasant. I only wishthis store was bigger (like Cedars in Norwood.) Maybe someday. We went there after buying a dud crave. We arrive without it and Moe says we need the actual device. We tell him it will take us 5 minutes to get it and be back and he says that is no problem. We come back after 5 minutes and the door is locked while they are still open and the sign still says open. We are knocking and see him behind the back door sarcastically knocking and waving to us as if he is saying "f you". His behavior is categorically unprofessional and I want to warn everyone else to not trust this business. read more

This is the best convenience store in Boston! They literally have everything you need, and at a reasonable price - unlike most convenience stores in the city. The staff is always polite and helpful. The place is also very well kept, and doesn't feel shady. They even have things that you wouldn't expect to find, like Pirate's Booty and Izze. Had a friend buy yogurt here. It was within it's best by date, but all moldy on top. Had another friend buy cool whip here. Again, within the best by date, but was yellow and dried out. Judging from that and the various reviews of sour dairy products I'd say this place has frequent refrigeration problems, and it's been that way for years, and they haven't fixed it. But. The guys who work here are usually pretty nice, and they have a decent selection of stuff, but.... Went in this week and bought milk and ice cream. The ice cream had obviously completely melted and then re-frozen--it had that weird crisp/icy texture and tasted horrible. The milk was also completely spoiled and sour, as I found out after spitting out a mouthful. I'm guessing they lost power - maybe the blackout? but that was a while ago. Anyway, I'm sure insurance covers the loss of food due to spoilage in the case of a failure, so why leave spoiled products out for your customers to buy?? As a former retail/food employee, I'm really pretty easy to please, but I draw the line at food safety. If you're selling rancid products, someone who works there knows it. There is no excuse. You could really make someone sick. It also usually means there is a culture of indifference among the employees. Not shopping here again. Gross. read more

The best convenience store in the area for NU students, but that's not saying much. It's only open till 2 AM, but the prices are much better than Wollaston's and Lucky Store 24. Your probably better off heading to Shaw's or Stop and Shop for most things in here, but it's a fair alternative if you just need an item or two. read more

When I went to pay for my 2/3.00 Gatorade, he rung it up as 2.29. I paid in cash but then confronted him about the wrong sign, telling him to change it. Instead he said I had to buy 2 for the deal. I love Symphony Market! I make a stop here at least once every other day for the past 2.5 years. They recently expanded their store thus now housing more frozen food and beverages. Most convenient stores overprice items but Symphony Market prices things very reasonably. The staff is foreign but they are friendly and to some even flirty. Occassionaly, a woman will work there and bring her big fat fluffy cat. It is very cute. This place seems like a family-owned business and I like it very much. The only setback about Symphony Market is their lack of a slushy machine like 7-Eleven. Great store, prices, selection and staff. Typically decent pop radio music is always playing! Makes you feel like you are walking into a party! read more
