Anna was able to help me with some chronic pain in my neck and shoulder while accommodating my requests and also sharing information on my tight muscles (names of them and what they connect to etc). I have tried a couple masseuse here and never left satisfied. The only option is 90 minutes, which is a good amount of time - but it doesn't feel like they ever use it well. If I request focusing on an area, and they brush over it, what's the point of the 90 minutes? This massage is not worth it for the price you pay. The the massage style, pressure, and customization is lacking. they don't ask about the bolster, the heat, the neck support. you have to tell them everything, which is fine, but when I'm getting a massage I want the person to communicate with me, and make sure I'm getting the help I need and am comfortable as they work on my person.. sad read more

One of the worse massages I have had sadly. Got stuck outside with no way to enter with another client. Once someone opened for us the massage therapist breath smelled of smoke or cigarette. I met with Dustin yesterday for a pinched nerve that had basically rendered me immobile, I was in so much pain. Dustin listened to me and definitely heard my need, because he worked very thoughtfully on the area, helping the muscles to relax and the pain to diminish. Earyn made my neck turn from a tight coil into butter. Magic??? It must be magic. Seriously impressive with their constant and gentle to intense yet healing pressure. Really knows their stuff. I'm definitely coming back. Convenient parking area. Doesn't seem very wheelchair accessible if you need to turn around in the restroom. Heads up, they do ask for electronic tip after the massage. Which was kind of a bummer for me to think about my splurge instead of remaining in bliss, but until the industry standardizes paying practitioners more so tips aren't necessary - it iissss what it isssss. Very clean, relatively quiet, small room with minimal furniture and a quiet air purifier going on in the back. COVID worriers will be happy to learn they check temps and require masks on throughout the massage. Practitioners wear KN95 so they are protecting their staff well. I felt safe and taken care of. No more than 2 ppl in the waiting area for more than 2 minutes. read more

I've been going to synapse massage and bodywork for close to a decade now and have seen at least eight or nine different massage therapists there. As a massage therapist I don't say this lightly: they were all remarkably good and unique in their own way. I've worked as a massage therapist for 19 years and in spas for over 10, I can tell you that this is extremely rare and speaks to the skill in detailed hiring practices of the owner. The space is lovely, calm, comfortable and centers safety and communication in an amazing way. Recently I did something to my middle-aged neck and shoulders that was impacting my existing carpal tunnel issues. (Or so I thought.) I had recently seen a massage therapist I like and she did a lot, but I needed more help and she's hard to book. So thanks to Yelp I found Synapse and booked an appointment with Zoe. Not only was Synapse clean and calm, arrival (and Covid protocol) instructions clear, and parking ample, the massage was GREAT. Zoe listened to my concerns, focused on the areas I told her about and used a variety of different techniques that felt amazing. But the best part was, Zoe actually gave me a lot of good information about what was going on in my body - like that the neck/shoulder and forearm issues were somewhat separate and that my chronic forearm tension could actually be improved with some exercises she taught me. Folks, I'm telling you, that nasty vein that looks like a blue worm living on my inner wrist for the last *decade* actually smoothed out! I could not believe it, and in the few days since, I've continued to do those exercises and am feeling a huge measure of relief. So not only was the massage itself therapeutic and blissful, but I have some long-term interventions for something I thought was unsolvable. Thank you, Zoe! Cole is amazing! If I could give him more stars, I would. I chose him due to his experience with rehab and physical therapy. I came to him due to chronic pain from herniated discs in my lower back. He is so knowledgeable about the human body! I enjoy that he allows me to completely relax, but also explains what is going on with my muscles that could be causing pain. His massages are unique and tailored to my needs every time. I always feel like a new person when I leave! Every time I have felt more mobile and in effect my quality of life improves. I have fibro and terrible chronic pain, and I typically undergo Myofascial release therapy with another therapist. However, I stumbled upon Synapse when he went on vacation, and I've seen Aeryn multiple times with great success. She's very gentle, and she listens -- perfect for when I'm in a lot of pain. However, if I'm doing well enough to handle deep work Giancarlo Luca is a magician -- trigger points were found and released I didn't even know existed. This place keeps notes on all clients that are shared between therapists, and they read them. I've visited other places with multiple therapists, but never have the other therapists read the notes! My suggestion if you have specific issues, please call so that they can find the right therapist. Space is clean, everyone must santitize their hands, therapists are double masked, and therapists are all vaccinated. Pretty whack. I felt like little noodle fingers were moisturizing my skin for 90 mins. I went in looking for shoulder and neck pain relief and asked for firm pressure and def did not receive that. My masseuse's hands were shaking at certain points moving my arm around, it seemed like he was nervous? Or hungover?The white noise machine was weird and spa music waned on and off. Overall weird vibe, not spa-like, not worth the $$. I've been seeing Anna at Synapse Massage for monthly deep tissue massage since March 2017. I used to think that regular massage was a luxury, something that fancy people do when they have some money they can't figure out what else to do with. Like with so many other things, I was completely wrong! My physical and emotional health have improved immensely over the last few months. Old aches and pains that had seemingly hung around for years have packed up and left for good, and tension that comes from behavioral patterns, like my stiff neck and shoulders from too much computer work, has eased. I feel so much more relaxed in so many ways! Anna is a wonderful massage therapist. She is trained in different modes of massage which allows her to customize each session to what's happening with my body in that moment. She is incredibly (freakishly) strong, so she's able to deliver very deep pressure, while at the same time being attuned to what I am able to handle. Sometimes I feel as if I'm a ball of dough being rolled out by a huge rolling pin into a perfect pie crust - when we're done, everything feels even and smooth and there are definitely no lumps left anywhere. Anna is also a great listener - she asks questions at each session to make sure that any needs are taken care of, and she is so caring and kind - I can tell that she is attuned to her clients, and her empathy really comes across in the energy she brings to her work.
