The rooms are always clean, the therapists are well trained with strong hands, and they'll take care of what you're looking for. I just saw JD and had a ton of neck and shoulder pain. He magically found all of my tense spots and worked them out, one by one. He also kept making sure the pressure was as I wanted. My body felt so terrible, at some point I couldn't even sleep at all due to body pain. I also had swollen lymph nodes under my arm, and sometimes they felt like massive bruises, it was awful. I decided to treat myself to a massage, to see if it would help. I'm so glad I did! First time I did this, I was able to bend my neck both left and right without pain. Second time, my swollen lymph nodes started to disappear. Third time, my arm could comfortably roll around in circles! I feel like I am being rejuvenated every visit. Tina is excellent and strong, and knows anatomy. She will adjust the pressure according to your wishes, and will concentrate on the areas of your body that most need massaging. If you are nice she might put a warm towel on your feet and arms at the end of the massage. read more

The experience was decent, but if you're used to traditional Thai massage, it might feel a bit lacking. They don't offer back walking, and there aren't any balancing rails to help the therapist apply pressure the way you'd expect at a typical Thai massage place. I got the Thai Jade Gua Sha massage (lymphatic drainage massage) Face and neck by Patricia. It was incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. I came in with tight shoulders and upper back...now that was taxing, but it was well needed. The Gua Sha portion on my face was soothing and light. I ended up going home and messing up my sleep because I knocked out about 45 mins when I got home around 7pm and now I'm writing a review at 2am because reasons... The place itself was very clean and welcoming, parking is a bit tough though because it is Montclair. read more

3 for very nice people, clean space and communication prior to massage. I understand that I'm rating this based on my needs and experience receiving massages many other places. I think this place is good if you like a light touch and stretch. I was highly disappointed in what they called "deep massage" and even when I asked my masseuse for harder and deeper pressure, nothing changed. For the price, I got rubbed on and even the lightest "stretch". If you have any real need to get your muscles and body taken care of, I don't recommend here. Ok, wow. Definitely in the top 3 massages of my life, definitely the best in terms of how healing it was to areas where I've been having trouble. Elly is strong! But also very sensitive to applying the right amount of pressure as needed, she checked in with me several times, which I appreciated a lot. I loved the combo of Thai and Swedish technique, and the gentle stretches. The next day all the muscles connecting my back, hips, and thighs felt better than they have in months. I had a great experience today at Crown Thai Massage. I came in because I was having back and neck pain and I was easily able to book an appointment on the website. I called in advance to ensure my therapist would wear a mask and Joe happily let me know he wears a mask for all seasons. His hands were strong and provided the perfect firm pressure. I have had hundreds of massages but this was my first experience with a Thai massage. I feel like he payed attention to all of my aches and pains and the reflexology on my feet was heavenly. At the end of our session he sprayed a hot towel with bergamot aroma and performed traction on my neck. I was so relaxed, it was hard to leave the table. I immediately want to book again. This is a great spot in Montclair for Thai-inspired body massage. I've had several massages with different therapists at Crown Thai this summer and each time has been a great experience. All massage therapists are well versed in Thai techniques and they will design a unique session based on your input. There's a big menu of massage offerings - somehow each one I've tried seems to be the best one yet! With stretching and myofascial release, followed by massage of choice, the therapist always manages to find and relax my tight spots, often without me realizing that I had any tightness. Crown Thai Massage just started two-hour massages (1 hr 55 mins) which for me is the optimum duration. The place is clean and bright and the staff are friendly, caring and superb at getting the knots out. Not on the cheap end, but well worth the price. This place does everything perfectly! I had my third Thai Combination massage from Crown Thai today. I have had Thai massage for years. The person I have been with each time at Crown Thai is amazing. Deep, goes where massage is needed. Absolutely fantastic Thai massage. I need very deep pressure and don't even need to ask for it when I'm here. It just happens. I'm so happy they have come to Montclair. I used to drive into SFO for Thai massage. The rooms are spotless, with a simplistic elegance to each. They still wear masks, which I appreciate! The place is brand new and there is a smart, simple elegance to the design of both reception and massage rooms. The massage beds are extremely comfortable; sheets are soft. Hot towels are used during and after massages. I LOVE that! Each time I call, the reception remembers who I am, and remembers what I had before and with whom. Everyone is very friendly. It's right here in Montclair, and they have designated parking spots. It's a lovely, quiet place. I love all the different Thai massages they offer; many are new to me (even though I've been getting Thai massage for years other places don't have the Thai massage variety) and I can't wait to try all of them. I've been to Crown Thai Massage twice now, and have had a great experience both times. This newly opened studio is bright and sunny, beautifully decorated and is sparklingly clean. The owner is very welcoming, and the two therapists I had were just terrific - very intuitive, responsive to any specific requests and really top notch. I came in today with an injury to my calf muscle and my therapist worked on it very effectively and gave me some stretching tips to aid in healing.
