I regret hiring SYNERGY Homecare for my personal care needs. I only used them for two days and had a very bad experience with the same caregiver. I felt that she was dishonest and unprofessional. Here are some of the reasons why I was dissatisfied with her service: - She asked me for money for gas and food, which I gave her out of kindness, but she did not offer to pay me back. - She took some of my cleaning supplies and kept commenting on a storage container that I had bought recently, without offering to pay me for them. - I left my wallet on the dining room table after I had taken some cash out of it, which I later discovered some money was missing. I reported this to Mr. Matthew Enderle, the owner of SYNERGY Homecare, but he referred me to his insurance company and also said that he would support me in court. - She came back to my apartment unexpectedly after I had reported her, and banged on my door, claiming she had forgotten something. This made me feel unsafe and harassed. I called the police, but they did not find her. I decided to press charges against her, but later dropped them because I did not want to deal with the hassle. She also failed to show up for a meeting with the police officer who took my report. I would not recommend SYNERGY Homecare to anyone who values their safety, privacy, and belongings. I think they should screen their caregivers more carefully and hold them accountable for their actions. I give them 1 star, because I have to. Instead, it should be zero stars. She never showed up to meet with the police officer who took my report. She also never returned the things she took from me or paid me back for them. She took advantage of my kindness and generosity. She asked me for gas money and food money, and I gave them to her. She also asked me for some cleaning supplies and kept on commenting on a storage container that I had bought recently, and I gave them to her too, thinking she would pay me later for the cleaning supplies. But she never did. I feel cheated and violated by this caregiver and by SYNERGY Homecare. They did not provide me with quality service or care. They did not respect me or my property. Synergy took care of my mom for about two years. I live 1,000 miles away from Richmond so it was important to me to find a reliable company to care for my mom. Matt and his team did an excellent job. They provided part time care for my mother which can be hard to coordinate. They took my mom to appointments, fixed meals, cleaned the house, helped her with activities like gardening, etc. Whenever there was an urgent request, like when I couldn't reach my mom for a several days (because squirrels chewed through the phone lines in the attic) they raced over to my mom's house to make sure she was okay. And, called me so I could hear my mom's voice. I highly recommend this company. read more

I have been using the company for about 6 months to care for my mother with dementia. After several reach outs to the company regarding the adequeacy of training for our caregiver, we finally caught her yelling and cursing at an 82 year old dementia woman. The company decided it was best for her not to return but FAILED repeatedly to cover the open shifts and offered no solutions. Paid alot of money for really bad service. Not much care for workers or clients coming out of this "home care" business. read more

Recently, I had the occasion to use a home health care service as a result of my being in a serious automobile accident, and we chose Synergy upon a referral. It was a relief, given my injuries and situation, that I found each person at Synergy with whom I interacted to be professional, compassionate and positive. My interactions included both owners, office staff, nursing staff and caregiver, all of whom I would recommend to anyone who needs home health care. They are all top notch! read more

I cannot even rate this company because they are so poor in quality, but had to mark something, so I gave them 1 star when it should be no stars. We hired them to care for my mother-in-law, however, what they told us and what ended up happening was two completely different things. They talked about how there would be a team and a team lead for her. That happened for about a month or two. After that it went downhill. We asked them to take care of my Mother-in-Law and treat her right. What we ended up getting, caregivers damaging my Mother-in-Laws vehicle and saying nothing, employee who did not want to drive my Mother-in-Law anywhere and we had specifically said that they needed a caregiver who could drive and we were promised that, employees who would take 10-15 minute smoke breaks outside of the house and be on their phone and not with my Mother-in-Law. The final straw came when we had to once again ask them not to send someone back because they took the bed rail of my Mother-in-Law's bed and they know she moves during the night. They had several employees put her braces on wrong causing her to have her foot hurt and taken her back to before she had the braces for correcting her foot. We had the person come out 3 times to train the caregivers and they even took a video of it. A lot of employees told us that they did not know about the video and had not watched it. One caregiver argued with my Mother-in-Law when she told her she had put the brace on wrong and the caregiver left it. I had to end up fixing it. Had I not found the bed rail just leaning up against the railing, then my Mother-in-Law could have been severely hurt or killed. The company acted like they did not care. Some of the caregivers were wonderful but a lot of them were not so great. We had meetings with them about the care they were providing and were promised that they would fix it. It never happened. I even had one of the owners tell me she could not do something because she was not a PCA. It was putting my Mother-in-Law on her bedside commode. This was after another owner told us that they would not ask their caregivers to do anything that they could or would not do. The last result was they waited till 3:00 pm on a Friday to call my husband say they were discontinuing services and the following Friday because they were not meeting our standards. Our standards are simple, take care of my Mother-in-Law and provide her with the best care. In the letter they sent us they talked about discontinuing services because of frustration and recommended us going to another company and gave a name. We had to hire another company to take care of wounds caused by some of the caregivers not properly putting on my Mother-in-Law's braces. So, I would not recommend this company to even my worst enemy. They are a company that does not back up what they say. read more
