If I were rating the laser technicians alone, I would give them a 5/5. They were wonderful. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk and management was very different. For those who are accustomed to the customer service at European Wax, I want to point out that the level of customer service here was not comparable. My concerns were primarily with communication, professionalism, and how my packages and account were handled. I saw that the front desk staff had placed not so nice notes on my file. I was also told that these notes could not be removed, which left me uncomfortable knowing that future staff would see them. When I brought my concerns to management, she acknowledged that customer service from the front desk has been a struggle, but I believe management also needs to take responsibility for properly training and supervising staff. When I asked to review the packages I had purchased, the front desk employee told me that I would need to remember a conversation from a year ago because she was also confused about what packages I had. When escalated to Management, she told me she was unclear about the "sales tactic" that had been used when some of my packages were sold to me and therefore could not provide much insight. That was very concerning to me. How can management not be aware of how packages and services are being presented and sold to customers? And when a customer questions something, they should not feel insulted or uncomfortable for doing so. Fortunately, I had a witness with me who was also dealing with her own issues during the visit. She witnessed how I was treated and the interaction that took place. Another major concern is how customers are informed--or not informed--when they run out of services in their package. I was told that it is entirely the customer's responsibility to keep track of when their package runs out. I understand that customers have some responsibility, but I believe better communication and customer service would go a long way. While I was there, another customer was informed only after her appointment and service that she had run out of her package and now owed money for the service. She was clearly caught off guard and became extremely upset. I felt terrible for her because she had not expected an additional charge, and she had been allowed to make the appointment and receive the service without being informed beforehand. Overall, I am extremely disappointed. The laser technicians deserve recognition for the quality of their work, but the front desk experience, communication, package management, and the way customer concerns were handled left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and focuses on better training, communication, and customer service so future clients do not have to go through a similar experience.

Extremely disappointing experience…read more I really don't like leaving bad reviews, especially for a medical office, but after today's experience I feel other patients deserve to know what happened. I have been going to their Chino location for keloid injections and was referred to the Upland location for V-Beam laser treatment to improve the remaining redness. I had my consultation with PA Kristin Mickelson on August 10. During that consultation, Kristin did not clearly tell me that my 4-year-old daughter was absolutely prohibited from accompanying me. I was told that if my daughter stayed in the treatment room, she would need to wear protective glasses. Based on that information, I understood that bringing my daughter was allowed under those conditions. When I scheduled my treatment afterward, a front desk employee also told me that the treatment would only take about 15 minutes and that they could keep an eye on my daughter while I received my treatment. I relied on what their own staff told me. I took a day off work and drove approximately 1.5 hours each way to the Upland office. When I arrived, I received yet another set of instructions about where my daughter could stay. At one point, staff even brought me to a separate waiting room and told me my daughter could wait there while I received my treatment. Then, only a few minutes later, the office manager came in and told me they could not treat me because they could not supervise my child and that I would have to reschedule without bringing her. I was shocked and extremely disappointed. I completely understand that a medical office may have safety policies regarding children. What I do not understand is why those policies were not clearly communicated to me, why I received conflicting information from the PA and front desk staff, and why I was allowed to travel all the way there only to be turned away. I even returned to the office after initially leaving because I had already taken the day off and driven three hours round trip. I was willing to have my daughter wear protective glasses and remain with me, but the office manager still refused to provide my treatment. I also asked about the consultation fee/deposit because the treatment I had scheduled was not performed. Instead of acknowledging the communication failure, I was told I should listen to the physician rather than the front desk staff. But I was following the information provided by their own employees. What made this experience even worse was the complete lack of empathy or apology for the inconvenience. I did not feel that anyone took responsibility for the conflicting information I had been given. The interaction with the office manager also ended very unprofessionally, with the office door being slammed. After this experience, I have completely lost confidence in this office and will not be returning to the Upland location. This review is not about expecting special treatment because I have a child. It is about clear communication, proper staff training, accountability, and basic respect for patients' time. If a policy is strict, tell patients clearly before they take time off work and drive hours for an appointment. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews how this situation was handled. Patients should not have to pay the price for inconsistent communication between their own staff members.
