Fresh sashimi and sushi rolls. Ordered at 11am to pick up for 5:30pm. It was ready for me when I arrived. When ordering, the person picking up was not familiar with the menu. It was a little frustrating and when picking up, I wasn't optimistic. I had to keep repeating Ufo roll probably 10x. Our actual order: yellowtail sashimi (10 pieces), 5 tuna & 5 salmon sashimi, tamago sashimi, Ufo roll, and spicy tuna inari. What we got- everything with exception of the spicy tuna inari. On the paper, it said spicy tuna nori. There isn't such an item by that name. They made us spicy tuna roll instead. Not terrible, but wish they had a separate number from the market. In terms of the freshness, quality is definitely on point. It's as fresh as you expect, I would compare it to Chelsea market. The only confusion is the Ufo roll. Suppose to have eel. Was eel mushed up with spicy tuna on top? Very confused. I think it was missing the eel. Overall, I am interested in ordering their large platters for parties. Too bad they don't have more exotic options like baby Hamachi, ikura, Toro, uni etc. Lastly, the market smelled clean. Would be very interested in purchase lobsters and some clam chowder next time. I've been coming to this place for 20+ years and I love it, I bought some shrimp that I thought did not taste good. I am a foodie who loves to cook and has been cooking for over 45 years. I purchased 5 pounds of frozen shrimp, and there was a distinct aftertaste that tasted like something processed never tasted anything like it before, but we could not eat it, my wife and my son agreed, and this all happened on Christmas Eve and I was preparing for 17 people. We had to go to a different seafood store in BAYVILLE fish market . And they were fantastic.Thanks Rick! Gus, the owner was not available today when I was accosted by the manager, insisting that he had no issues with any shrimp that he sold for the holiday. I was treated like a second rate citizen he just ignored me and walked away, instead of being professional, apologizing or coming to some reasonable solution. Like I said, I never had an issue the syosset seafood, Gus the owner is fantastic. Just had this one problem. I wish you handle it better read more

I try their sushi platter yesterday. It was terrible. The rice was way too sticky and the portion was very small. Anyway we couldn't finish the platter. Half of platter was left. And i just throw it away. I will never come back. read more

Seafood is priced on the higher end but the establishment is super clean with helpful and welcoming employees. They give you a little bit of a seafood market with a nice area offering cooked food that they can warm up for you as well. A large variety of seafood and veggie options. Very delicious. Re: Joes Sushi-Ordered platter with specific rolls to be included and received less expensive rolls NOT ordered (California rolls and avocado rolls instead of salmon). Spoke to Joe and he argued the number of pieces was correct. They do what they want here. Ended up with a small credit & disappointed guests. Never buying Joe's Sushi again. read more

This is a high end fish market. Only come here if you are rich or have extra money to burn, the prices are extremely high. But the quality is high too. The place doesnt smell like fish, it smells like brine, which shows you how fresh the fish is. There is a lot of variety in a small space, a lot of prepared dishes, and a few relevant grocery items. Poor customer service! Called 3x about my order and never got a call back. I went in the night before Christmas Eve and I didn't have my order number - they insisted I got one then said I maybe didn't have an order. Upon finding my order, I told them I didn't know if I would order next year and the owner SCREAMED IN MY FACE, in front of staff and customers - he wouldn't sell me my order and told me to get out because he didn't need to hear me say I might not be back!! Not the cheapest prices, but you're paying for quality. Fish I've gotten from SS is not just fresh, but quality flesh. Not all flecked up and weird looking. And not that much more expensive than the supermarkets, some of which have pretty good seafood (Key Food), some are, meh (Stop & Shop). Syosset Seafood is never "meh", so if you need good fish and don't have the time to mess around, go to Syosset Seafood, they'll hook you up. If the prices were a tad cheaper, and there were more selection, I'd give a fifth star. But hey, 4/5 ain't bad! read more

While driving down Robbins Lane was telling my husband my mom and her friend would always get the halibut salad. This was like 40 years ago. You get what you pay for. It costs, but you can count on high quality, fresh fish. Owners are low key and helpful. Halibut salad is delicious and hard to go back to plain old tuna salad once you've had it. Dry scallops a treat and yes, price to match but there is no waste and still cheaper than eating out.
